I can't play Indy at all because my GTX 1080 doesn't support ray tracing.

RTX 5080 need to hurry the fuck up, indy sounds like it's right up my alley.
have you tried booting it up? I do wonder if the game just switches to a different rendering path entirely on legacy hardware,

Yes. Getting an error message that my GPU doesn't support RT.
Damn, that's rough. But I guess that's just the future of graphically demanding games. RT isn't going anywhere. Of course it sucks for users of lower end hardware, though it is notable that even low-power devices like phones ship with some nomial RT support these days.

When I was checking if the game would support my CPU (a i7-8700K, below the minimum spec – apparently it does run, btw) I did come across discussions that the game forces hardware based raytracing and thus wont run on GTX cards, unfortunately. So it appears that the minimal specs this time around really are the minimum specs (at least in terms of GPU)
I wonder if theyre gonna be any way around it eventually

regarding the Game Awards: I just watch it without any expectations, thats – I think – the sanest way ;)

Well, Im not suprised, it was only early last week I learned that Indy required RT. However I didn't expect that I couldn't even get the game to launch. Thought I at least could reach the main menu.

I am putting Indy on pause for now. Game actually runs great but it is obvious that with DLSS i can run it with even higher settings but damn thing doesn't work. Same with FrameGen.

20 something years and a game series based on a prototype designed to be used as a tv advert for whiskey is still going eh?
wow. Good on 'em.

Now I don't feel bad for never getting around to playing AC Black Flag. For the longest time, I held off on playing it because it didn't run very well on my system but even when I built a beast capable of running it properly I still never got around to it. Good things come to those who wait, I guess. :steam_pigblanket:

Hopefully they'll add Steam achievements to Syndicate as well. I imagine the ACIII remaster isn't out of the question either although I won't hold my breath for the Ezio trilogy...

I don't really see Valve doing much tomorrow at TGA.

At most it would be a special sale or deck giveaway. Like they've done in the past.

It would be smart to advertise new game or hardware. Assuming they are working on it and its near completion.

This applies to everyone.

Say what you want about the Keighley events...they have millions n millions of eyeballs on them from all over the world. There is no better place to advertise gaming related shit. Its worth whatever Geoff is charging.

I wanna stay up for TGAs but they start at like 2am UK time and last 4 hours, so I'm out.

I skipped past 2 years, I will stay up this year. Mainly because I am alone at the office for next 2 weeks so I can't be late whenever I come XD
