I'm pretty much dead inside and don't care about any big announcement besides witcher 4. Still not 100% sold with Ciri being the protagonist but the setting, world, lore and stories were always the stars of the games, much more than Geralt, so we'll wait and see how it turns out.

Will need to dig a bit deeper to see what smaller games were shown.

This might have been the most impressive show of all time when it comes to the sheer quantity and quality of announcements.

Happy to see that Ciri really is the protagonist of TW4.
Man, so many surprises.

But first of all, Rebirth in January! Fuck yeah!

So appears Jason Schrier was right. I was not expecting Okami to be there. That has really made me morning.

Nice to see FFVII Rebirth there. I still have major misgivings over the direction they are taking, but will never say no to more Tifa. However that will have to wait for a discount.

New Helldivers 2 trailer has got me wanting to reinstall and revisit the game.

On a separate note, I have been playing the calamity mod these last few months. Been really enjoying the challenge the game offers. So I am thinking it may be time to go back to Dark Souls and give that a go. Tried it back when it first came to PC but bounced of it due to the difficulty.

Damn, that's a dream game, if they can do her justice.
I remember the books getting some backlash when the focus shifted to Ciri, the game will definitely get the same discourse from some people. Fuck them.
The fact that Ciri is still getting started as a Witcher and is still trying to figure out her place in the world, gives them much more freedom to write the story.
Geralt's personality and moral codex were already set in stone, with Ciri they have the possibility to go in unexpected directions.
And as a huge fan of the books I'm happy to see her story continue in some form. Geralt's story has been told, as much as I love him. People need to learn to let go.

Okami 3 was my OMG moment. I mean, it's no Half-Life 3 but I'll take it.

Rebirth specs are reasonable since there's no RT crap bogging it down. I hope you all buy it, it's a once in a lifetime experience.

I gifted my buddy a copy, but I don't care to replay it any time soon (probably not until part 3 is close to release in a few years).

Out of everything i've glanced at so far i'm actually really looking forward to "The Outer Worlds 2" and it probably would have been my "Holy Shit" moment if i cared enough as i wasn't expecting a new one after the first seemed to get universally moaned about.
I didn't mind it though and had a good time and was thinking about doing another playthrough over Christmas break so this announcement has cemented that idea.

Witcher 4 etc sure but i was expecting that one and the ND game is a way off for PC i assume.

Also, i'm more hyped about Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition being released in March for the Switch tbh. Love that game! Can't wait!

The only highlights of the show for me were the Witcher 4(I was hoping for a customizable character, I'll take Ciri over another gravelly dude though), Dispatch, and Solasta II. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophecy would also tempt me when it comes out on PC at some point.

I was hoping Light No Fire would show up again. It's been a year since the trailer and nothing has been said since!

Outer World 2 was revealed back in 2021. The reveal trailer was really funny. Give it a watch! :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye:

Didn't get time to post here during because of work, but excellent show. My highlights = Project Century, VF5 REVO, FF7 Rebirth (hopefully good on deck edition), Onimusha, helldivers 2 controller that I'll probably buy, warframe 1999 tomorrow, and a new trent reznor + atticus ross soundtrack that ships with some game.

So, I didn't notice this because of the pre-order sale, but VII Rebirth is launching at 70€ versus how VII Remake launched at 80 (on EGS, it was on sale day one on Steam but base price was still 80)
And now VII Remake is priced at 40€ base. It seems the 80 bucks price point was a much harder pill to swallow that many publishers thought

A decent base price, a decent launch discount, an early launch date and no egs exclusivity bullshit

this is not my square enix anymore

Hell, there's a chance the port will be decent. Square is still really erratic when it comes to port quality game-by-game, but the worst they tend to make nowadays isn't really that bad.

I'm really not holding my breath for adequate port quality.
I'd be positively surprised if they have a working LoD / draw distance setting or ultrawide support (never mind both).

Just watched the game awards and I have to say it was a surprisingly good show without much cringe and filler. Didn't need to skip that much this time around.

Pretty happy with Clive being in Tekken. I'm playing trough FF7 Remake right now and Tifa seems kinda bland anyway so Clive together with Torgal looks way more hype.

The Golden Age of Yugioh. That's pretty good in my books. Can't wait for that collection Steam deck. Also in for Taisho Yakuza. Show was otherwise equal parts ignore and wishlist fodder. Most things fell along the love it or hate it line.

For Elden Ring, I hope they allow for offline play with AI like how FFXV's Multiplayer DLC was. That's my red line for buy or straight to the trash.

The blog post mentions the possibility of going solo at least:

Teaming up in squads of three – or daring to go solo – they must outlast a three day-and-night cycle, making split decisions about combat and exploration across changing maps to become strong enough to take down terrifying bosses at the end of each day.

I quite liked the Game Awards this year! I kinda regret watching it live, it killed my sleep .., but yeah, good show! They improved pretty much everything, I'd say. I didnt have any expectations, so I can only say I was pleasantly surprised to see the Witcher 4 (I was hoping Ciri would become the protagonist ever since she was playable in short sequences in The Witcher 3) trailer and the Elden Ring game (remains to be seen if its for me; I dont enjoy coop or roguelike games much).
Some acceptance speeches were really nice and even touching to see; and Swen Vinckes speech was great.
It had cool moments, some funny, some awkward, some boring, but hey, thats par for the course if youre making a show like this that is supposed to cover all gaming genres and niches; and I think they overall do a very good job at that.

Im also glad The Last of Us II will come to PC; and its nice to see pretty much everything shown coming to Steam.

So tempted to get Forza Horizon 4 before it disappears, I both do want to play it but not sure when I would get to it. but it is also pricey for a +1, (have to get the ultimate for the lego stuff) since I need to save for winter sale.... hmmmm!

My final safe trailer predictions:

Wonder Woman gameplay
Wolverine
Silksong
Switch 2 teaser
Fable gameplay
Death Stranding 2
MGS3 Delta release date
GTA6 story trailer

And nothing from Valve...

Nothing
Well, you got one prediction right at least

and a new trent reznor + atticus ross soundtrack that ships with some game.
lmao, accurate

game couldn't look less interesting if it tried, but that soundtrack is going to be in my rotation for years I am sure
