I don't know... If Epic actually gives $10 to everyone, it's very likely their store isn't doing so well as expected. I think sales of games like Close to the Sun and Operencia are really low.

No doubt many people will grab these $10 dollars and use it to buy a game on EGS. But just like Epic's moneyhats, I don't think this action will lead to loyalty or customer binding to EGS. Most people (strongly) dislike it, and they won't use it unless they really have to or when they get something for free. This situation is not sustainable for Epic in the long run.

It's only for Fortnite players. (according to pcgamesn)

I'm just glad it hasn't really impacted the UK print magazine... yet but there again I think the UK team have been quite dismissive of Epic on various podcasts from what i've heard from people so i think i have a while to go before i cancel my mag subscription.

Valve just seem to let the flow go and do their own thing. It's like...the tortoise and the hare. EGS are the hare and Valve are the tortoise, just going at its own pace. Because it knows it'll persist til the end regardless of the hare.

Agreed. I will buy MCC on Steam, but it will take I while before I trust them enough to deeply invest into their ecosystem. It seems Microsoft can't do anything right before fucking up first.
