Thanks guys. I don't really care about any of these games, but I'll ignore them on Steam to make sure it stays this way.

And another Fig game became exclusive as well.I just read that Shenmue III going to EGS.
EGS gonna kill Kickstarters, not Steam.
When you selectively quote my reply, it does make it look like im trying to push my own ideological bent. I was merely saying if Epic could take the credit, they would. In this case, they can't it's simply Activision's faultYou mean gossip. leave the moronic 'fake news'-like rhetoric to EGS and their ilk, and stop twisting things just to satisfy your own prejudice.
The 2009 Ghostbusters game was delisted due to license years ago, the 2016 game was delisted on Jan. 30th this year, which IIRC is around the time that Acti usually drops licenses etc.
I wonder when they made the Epic deal. Like back in the beginning when people thought it might be cool, or just recently when it was pretty obvious people would hate it. I wonder if they were offered a fat check and didn't care about the fallout, or if they had no idea it would be such a problem for people. The Shenmue comment section is up to 14 pages
I bet the money is just so good it's hard to turn down, even if you have to piss everyone off in the process. I still can't believe Epic doesn't realize the damage their doing by forcing backers to use their service. That should have been the first thing that got fixed after the first deal was revealed.I wonder when they made the Epic deal. How can they actually post that? Please, Deep Silver, elaborate on that statement. How is EGS the most enjoyable experience on PC? Is there a feature of the EGS that makes it better? No? Fuck off.But most importantly, in looking for the most enjoyable experience on PC, it was decided together with Deep Silver after much discussion that the Epic Games Store would be the best distribution platform option.
Epic doesn't view it as damage though. Or if they do, that it's beneficial damage. Their whole deal is buying on developers, so they can also buy on their customers. The dumb thing for the devs though, is that it costs them the goodwill of their fanbase, divides them, and makes people feel like they are being taken advantage of. So I wonder how often the dev is just aloof to the backlash that awaits them, or if they really just want that short term cash and DGAF.I bet the money is just so good it's hard to turn down, even if you have to piss everyone off in the process. i would like to think that there is at least ONE person somewhere there that is thinking this was a mistake but then again when money is involved companies dont give a shitThe Shenmue comment section is up to 14 pages
Yeah, they really don't.i would like to think that there is at least ONE person somewhere there that is thinking this was a mistake but then again when money is involved companies dont give a shit
Imho it has been a fairly recent thing.I wonder when they made the Epic deal. Like back in the beginning when people thought it might be cool, or just recently when it was pretty obvious people would hate it. I wonder if they were offered a fat check and didn't care about the fallout, or if they had no idea it would be such a problem for people.
So, it seems that Epic will start buying Early Accesses to minimize the PR hit for them and their partners in idiocy.
ook its on their discordAnd not sure about What the Golf ... the newspage on fig about EGS is backer locked
anyone here backed it?
At least they are being honest and upfront about it, all they care about is money and you have to respect that to a degree. It's better than the typical bullshit other companies throw at us.ook its on their discord
We have to respect it? Screw that!At least they are being honest and upfront about it, all they care about is money and you have to respect that to a degree. It's better than the typical bullshit other companies throw at us.
Yeah that's interesting. That's a straight up sell out. Which is pretty inconsistent with what Kickstarters are for.Imho it has been a fairly recent thing.
Fuck, a week ago they sent an email with the system requirements saying that it required a Steam account.
A while ago they even made us choose for the reward to be on PS4 or Steam. :/
Considering the type of disingenuous discourse these devs/pubs usually throw at us when these types of deals are announced, I much prefer to read an honest answer even though I dislike the content of the message. Honesty is a respectable trait. We have to respect it? Screw that!
I mean, if a guy came to you to steal your wallet, would you respect him more if he told you beforehand he was going to do it?
Well, to be fair they are being honest, because they are telling you they are being... dishonest?Considering the type of disingenuous discourse these devs/pubs usually throw at us when these types of deals are announced, I much prefer to read an honest answer even though I dislike the content of the message. Disgusting. Ysnet and Deep Silver are toasted for me.
Lol good luck with that. "Let's push back against the bored millennials who are always online and ready to fight" doesn't seem to be a winning strategy most of the time.
Amazing. As if not actually delivering what people actually paid for, and then making up the dumbest lie in the universe "EGS delivers the best experience", now they don't even allow you to refund?
yeah, and Deep Silver is redirecting every single person complaining about this to complain directly to YS Net.Also, please dont defend Yu Suzuki.
He was the one asking for funds, he is ultimately responsible for the project.
Deep Silver and Ys Net can fuck right off with this. What absolute bullshit.
And we though the previous "big deal, we could refund everyone and it woudn't make a difference" from Phoenix Point was bad....
Well, I mean, you don't offer a free game every week for the rest of 2019 out of the goodness of your heart.I really hope massive amounts of people are not purchasing from EGS.
That's what I'm hoping, honestly.Well, I mean, you don't offer a free game every week for the rest of 2019 out of the goodness of your heart.
I assume the timeframe for a chargeback has passed, but if it hasn't, I would issue the chargeback immediately.
That shit is getting review bombed into oblivionI think this will be so bad, it eventually comes to Steam... even if it's 12 months later.
At least they are being honest and upfront about it, all they care about is money and you have to respect that to a degree.
take a wild guessHas the press said anything yet about this or the impact Epic has on kickstarter which is, you know, the seedbed of most indies, gaming innovation and triumphs since 2012?
I think Epic paid them so much money that they don't care about pissing off their backers, we don't matter anymore. They have what they want, and we can all go pound sand for all they care.Just woke up, I have to say this show wasn't so bad. No game I cared about, but Dontnod hurts. I've been rooting for them since Remember Me, they will have to do without me and others now.
What Yu Suzuki and Deep Silver did for Shenmu III is one of the most galling, outrageous and greedy move the gaming industry has ever seen. I mean check the history :
Kickstarter is based on an ideal and goodwill, they wouldn't exist without those. It shows their true character when they then take the most cynical and toxic choice possible with exclusivity on a fucking open platform. They turned their backs on the people who supported them and they did so without a shred of remorse or hesitation given the tone of their recent communication. To paraphrase it :
- They rode Sony's E3, gaining a publicity most kickstarter and indies can only dream about
- They had a massive Kickstarter success and secured a publisher
- They promised Steam keys and even sent a poll to that effect a while ago
"No, you don't get refunds. This is how it is. Fuck you."
I don't know if it's a Japanese idea to sound so unapologetic and authoritarian when you are so much in the wrong but it's not going to do wonders for them.
