There's a big sale on Studio SiestA Shmups on Steam:

---

Also:

Thanks for mentioning these schmups! I'm surprised I've never heard of them. They look really nice and the prices after the discount are even nicer! Will surely grab them during this sale :D
Hi everyone! I'm back from my holidays in Porto and Seville. I have had a lovely time. Thanks to everybody who wished me a good holiday ;)

In other news, I have more than 30 pages to keep up only in this thread :p
Welcome back! Pro tip in regards to all the posts you missed, you can safely skip any post as soon as you see at least one of the following words: Grand Prix, Odometer, Boost, Capacity, Tokens. Believe me, no body really understands what the hell is going on :ROFLMAO:
Decided to buy Plague Tale and My Friend Pedro and use the added points to get tokens with which I will use on Bloodstained.

Really want Plague Tale, Pedro and Bloodstained, the rest of my wishlist can easily wait.
Are you me? I finished A Plague Tale last week, then I pre-ordered Bloodstained and Pedro. I'm playing Bloodstained right now and will move on to Pedro as soon as I'm done with Bloodstained!
Anyone played Plague Tale? How is it? Super curious on the game.
Very very good game! If you're into story heavy stealth games you're going to enjoy it! I also agree with Mor that it's clearly influenced by The Last of Us, though I wouldn't call it a clone or anything, as its's very much its own thing, especially when it comes to gameplay. Definitely recommended!

It feels like all that matters is how much you bought since the lunar sale, because after your starting capital is spent all that's left is to spend 150$ for a 5$ discount a time...
I can't remember how much my initial boost points were, but I've spent $160 AUD so far and I get $22.50 AUD worth of discount.

However, I can't claim all the points I get by idling about 4 games last night because my boost meter is already spent after boosting and redeeming the coupons.

Now I'll need to spend at least another $100 to be able to claim those points from idling games so that I could refill my boost meter and then claim another discount ...

This cycle is vicious.

Yeah. I really like that your off-sale purchases count to it, too. If they make this the standard sale format, it would be really nice knowing that your purchases throughout the year are accumulating a nice discount for your next sale
Right. It does make purchasing decisions more complex though. I.e. if you can get a key slightly cheaper than on Steam, but with the 4% it wouldn't be, but you can't really rely on that happening again.
...well actually if it's just 4% I'd probably buy it on Steam anyway.

Fantastic. Only behind RE2 for me this year.

Yeah, I love TLOU.

Really, I love all SP-story driven/narrative-driven games like TLOU, Alan Wake, Life is Strange etc.
Oh, you're going to love it.

I didn't even bother trying to understand this meta game. I'm probably only going to spend 5 euros, which is already more than in the last couple of sales.

I spent the $140 I had put away in my wallet for this sale, so mission accomplished I suppose? At least I'm not feeling the urge to spend even more which allows me to save up for the brutality of next year

and definitely not to buy another switch later this year

Obviously very different clients with different amounts of people trying to access, but the wait times for TFT are making me want to go back to Underlords. This is ridiculous.

I noticed a few people on my friend's list bought Phantom Doctrine during the sale.

If you own the game, and are unaware of it, Alienware released a couple of free cosmetic DLCs for Phantom Doctrine, which are still available (Steam keys):

Man I don't know if it's the effects of the trip back home but this Grand Prix event is so hard to understand. If I spend money, should I idle games to get the points for the discount?

Yeah, it's more or less it.

Buying games increases your red points.
Then, you need to complete achievements (or do like I do: run a game you already completed most achievement for 30 minutes, and after that it will appear on the "recently played games" section of the event, and you can redeem white points for those achievements.

Those white points are the ones you will convert to tokens, but you are limited to the number of red points you got.
Meaning, even if you can get 50000 white points, if you only have 25000 red points, that is the maximum number of white points you can convert to tokens.

Tokens are the "currency" with which you can purchase items or vouchers.

Yeah, it's needlessly complicated. ;)

Who are you trying to fool? That list is probably a regular day of purchases for you. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

In other news, I love publishers who don't even bother looking at their own store pages.

So, I'm missing the second remake in the Realms of Arkania series (Realms of Arkania: Star Trail), and I was looking to buy it during this sale.
I already own the previous games that are available on Steam, including the first remake.

And so, publisher United Independent Entertainment GmbH has set up things like this:

-Realms of Arkania: Star Trail - 8,99€
-Realms of Arkania: Star Trail - Digital Deluxe Edition - 10,47€
-Realms of Arkania Ultimate Bundle (includes the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game + the previous game and its DLCs + the 3 original games from the 90's; 9 items in total) - 8,16€ o_O

You want to know the hilarious part? Because I own 7 of the 9 items from that Ultimate Bundle, I can't buy it!
So, if I want the Deluxe Edition of the game, I'll have to pay 10,47€, while anyone who doesn't own any of the games can buy everything (including that very same Deluxe Edition) for 8,16€.
Yeah, that really makes sense. :cautious:

Yeah I don't know why Steam makes it even possible for some bundles to be set up this way. It only puts you off purchasing any DLC for these games 😞

if someone is still idling games for points (and if you have played it before and got achievements for it), Nier Automata gave me the most with 27k (all achievements)

on to the idling (yeah, i got a lot of red points with the index)

It is truly awful that Team Cockatiel is only in 3rd place because Teams Tortoise and Corgi are fucking cheaters.
Ssshhhhh, 3rd place is great, it means the best ratio of people to maybe win the daily giveaway as long as we stay 3rd :p

I think the "discount" is actually not 4% for me in the US - it's 100 points per $1 so a cool $150 to earn $5 off, or $100 for the first time (due to starting with 5,000 red points right?). So the first discount is worth about 5% off, then it gets progressively worse - the "true" discount is roughly 3.3%. Pretty sure I usually get more than that during the sales with cards by just selling everything, but I don't ever spend more than like 50-100 per sale, and this sale is looking slim for me.
