So Kill la Kill IF reviews are coming out. Currently sitting at a 85(!!!) on OpenCritic. Hopefully its not just because of low review count and it actually is really good. Ive been really hoping it would be. I need more KlK in my life.

There's a separate birthday thread? That I can put on ignore? And here I thought this place couldn't get any better! :blobcheer:
Yep! Sadly, sometimes it gets ignored and posted here or at both places, but yeah, no happy birthdays in general here any more. It's nice.

I asked earlier, let's say I'm willing to buy one them, is there a good entry point? Are their stories connected?
I know the chronological order of release is Hollow Fragment, Lost Song, Hollow realization, Accel world vs SAO and Fatal Bullet with Accel World vs SAO being its own thing.

I tried to play the first game and weeks ago and my SSD died immediatly, tried to play it on my linux laptop (with proton) and the thing wouldn't run, so I kinda said eff it till next time.
I know that the games don't really follow the show, as for the connected stories, I know each game introduces new characters and then they appear in the sequels.

Said all that I have been reccomended the chronological order, so HF, LS, HR, FB, I do however know that HR offers a recap of the first 2 games if you ask for it, I am planning to try again after I'm done with tales of symphonia and/or digimon

Say is there a problem with embedding pictures in posts? When I use the button I see the progress bar for half a second, then nothing.

Thanks. But the more I think about it, read reviews and look at what's still coming out in July.... maybe next sale.

Hmmm I have changed my mind, I'm gonna jump into HF and then marathon all the games one after the other now, maybe by the next sale I'll have an answer, maybe not, they seem kinda meaty as games and I'll start working again soon, so less time.

Time for nothing but SAO for the next months.

Koshiro on board for the soundtrack of Streets of Rage 4.
To complement my post above, the list of composers for Streets of Rage 4 is the following:

  • Yūzō Koshiro (Streets of Rage 1, 2 & 3, Sonic the Hedgehog, The Revenge Shinobi, Shenmue I & II,...)
  • Motohiro Kawashima (Streets of Rage 2 & 3, Shinobi II, Batman Returns,...)
  • Yoko Shimomura (Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Kingdom Hearts I, II & III, Legend of Mana, Parasite Eve,...)
  • Hideki Naganuma (Jet Set Radio & Future, Super Monkey Ball, Sega Rally 2,...)
  • Keiji Yamagishi (Ninja Gaiden, Tecmo Bowl,...)

That Yuzu thing is very interesting, looking forward to reading about it in more detail in the future.

Rare to hear these old school Japanese game devs and composers speak English.
Also that full composer list is pretty dope.
Well, Koshiro is a actual honest to god savant, so I'm not that surprised.

So would taking about something like Senran Kagura and DOA be considered okay? Or at least to talk about that one game Eroge game that the Senran Kagura artist has taken a part in?
Sometimes I post my impressions about VN with adult content, and I've posted about what the adult content consists of as well. Properly spoiler-tagged, of course. I haven't received any warnings so far, and I sure as hell won't be thirsting over loli characters or posting H-artwork.

I'd love for all of us to be adults and able to discuss these adult contents in games without fear of repercussions, as long as common sense is applied though. I think any discussion forums could be healthier for it.

what? no. that's all good. i guess if you want to be extra careful just don't embed screenshots directly here. if someone is offended about some openly published, not illegal media than that's on that person. but you are right, maybe these rules should be clarified (and simplified) because they are contradicting each other on some level.
I definitely agree. I know we're a little lax on rules in this forum, but so far we're pretty good at self-policing (properly spoiler-tagging NSFW shots, not posting loli lewds, etc). I'd like to think it's a sign of a good community when people are aware of how we should conduct ourselves without being told to do so.

Finished Fallout 4 (plus Far Harbor, Nuka World and Vault-Tec Workshop, if you consider this last one a story DLC, that is). It's way, way better than I expected. It's not a masterpiece in storytelling or anything, but it's just too fun. Nick Valentine, Deacon and Piper are great companions, the world is pretty interesting and I ended loving the settlement system. Also Far Harbor is real solid, while the workshop DLCs are pretty fun to mess with. Nuka-World is challenging, but it's nothing to write home about, though.

Overall, I'm super satisfied with Fallout 4. It's not every game nowadays that will take 70hours from me. Worthy to note: this all is coming from someone that tried New Vegas twice but never could go more than 3 ~ 5 hours on it each time, enjoyed Fallout 3 a lot but never played its DLCs and played a bit, about 6 or 7 hours of F2 out of curiosity.

While Bethesda games were always buggy, I felt like Fallout 76 was the first Bethesda game that lived down to their reputation.

Thank you GameStop for selling "physical" PC games because of that I was able to get Fallout 4 (vanilla) for $2USD and the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy for $5 USD. I was also able to get some Nendoroids for very cheap ($20USD a pop,haaaaa...., plus tax). Thank you America for not caring about "animu dolls". $20USD for a legit Nendoroid is really good seeing how Funko pops are about $12 USD? And boy oh boy are those things ..... something to behold.

By the way was there even anything good on sale on Prime Day? I understand there was the whole strike thing. I didn't buy anything. I'm guessing that Black Friday will have better sales? I'm finally planning to buy an M.2 NVME storage (1TB hopefully) and maybe a 2TB SSD later on,

Would you folks recommend River of Time?

I've played Drakensang before, but it didn't quite click with me. I remember that destroying barrels for loots get old pretty fast, especially because your character would unseat the weapon first every time you want to destroy a barrel.

===============

With Posts like these it's really hard to be looking Forward to ist release, especially as someone who struggles to stick with a Gacha game to begin with.
The only thing i have left is my burning love for Yoko Taro, but how warm will these flames Keep me in the face of the cold breezes that are you, nexon and the Gacha genre itself.
If you actually intend to play SINoAlice, man... good luck. I don't think it connects to the usual Taroverse at all, aside from the Automata collab, so personally I just can't be arsed.

We both know you can't take reviews for anything resembling a fighter seriously.

That being said, ArcSys probably had a decent amount of input from what I played.

The game is shaping up nicely. Chapter III is up, out of the total of 8 chapters.

Huh, you're right. What happened to the image embedding on this site?

Well DayZ is going the route of milking their diehard fans (If there's any of them left) they're going to put out a DLC for the game.

It's still not up to parity with the original mod of the game on their new engine they're now saying the old bone breaking/health system was seemingly too complicated for the majority of people so that probably wont ever come back.

Most of the original team and then subsequent team that showed up to finish the game have now moved on from it

I know it's a lame thing to complain about, but I'm so tired of seeing the same bundled, mystery or "free" games over and over again on GMG or Fanatical

In the dusty basement where we met
May you surprised so much
Because you're talking now
I gotta find the truth from many fights
But I'm all alone
You're the only one who can help me out
We'll be as one

We're ready to fight
Look over there
They try to kill us for stars
Our bond has got much stronger than before

Don't lose your way in your mind
We have to be as one
Don't be afraid my sweet heart
This is the way to be more strong
Harbor my deep secret
It makes me so blue
Run through this game before my body is dry

So it seems there's no other choice
But to go all out
Stay with me and let's stand out
And out shine those trying to get our stars now
All we have to do is figure out how strong we are
and what it takes to stay alive
Sync and learn what we can do to take 'em down
It's revenge and survive
For now, we know in part
And You can feel my heart
So help me to stay focused so I don't fall apart
I wanna be complete
It's not in me to retreat
I could lose on my own so I really need you with me

I gotta find out who killed my dad
I hear the voice of you in my mind
I gotta find out who killed my dad
I hear the voice of you in my mind so

My blood is pumping
I'm ready to fight when you are
Let's let no one break the bond that is ours
Show them what it means to be a shining star
You have my body
Let's fight as one

Can't move my feet in the dark
Don't wanna be all alone
Can't feel the heat in my blood
Do you remember what he said

Don't lose your way in your mind (I really need you with me)
We have to be as one (Help me to stay focused)
Don't be afraid my sweet heart (I wanna be complete)
This is the way to be more strong
Harbor my deep secret (Fight as one with me)
It makes me so blue (Let's take 'em down)
Run through this game before my body is dry (Be a shining star)
(You have my body, I'm ready to fight when you are)

Aaah so incredibly satisfying! Was playing Dota Underlords and was losing and there was one that was owning the whole match, but I managed to build up my druid/troll team and I won! And seeing the one who owned alot start losing to my team!:D

Well I played Prey and Metro Exodus.
And stopped both.

For Prey, I love the atmosphere and the story is... fucking bland and rehashed, but okay.
But the gunplay is miserable, and you only fight the two same ennemies. Oh yeah, there's huge differences later with a bigger mimic, or a fire phantom. Huge the differences. Like a texture or two. And oh, I guess I take more damage from the auto tracked AoE.
But really, it's the talent tree that's just boring. You can hack, lift heavy things, and half a dozen ways to do the same thing, unlocking new rooms... which means more to explore. And exploration is getting more from the abundant consumables taking inventory space, or more points to get more talent points. But hey there's chipsets! Which are RNG. And cool, like "do more crits with one weapon". Riveting and game changing experience.

Metro, I love the atmosphere and the story is... not bland actually, it's just a giant retcon. Dunno if that's better.
But it's just boring to play because it's slow and... you just explore to get mats to get upgrades and... I'm feeling a sense of deja vu suddenly.

Why do every single game that exists need those shitty RPG elements?
All they bring is more fucking around in the game world to find shinies, and more fucking around in menus.
But what about making the experience more fun to play rather than more of the same shit?
If you want to make an RPG, make one.
Or just make a good FPS, action game or whatever. Stop piggybacking on grinding mats and +5% "upgrades". Yeah, Deus Ex and System Shock played like garbage, they are also 20 years old. If 20 years of evolution means "looks better" and "more time wasted in menus", I'll keep to my 2D games.
