Am I alone in thinking the reviews for Young Blood aren't damning?
More than the reviews the thing that doesn't look good is the gaming systems used. As a multiplayer coop game one expects less story and more action, but having to reach milestones in order to advance is so out of touch with the previous Wolfensteins...

FWIW MyAnimeList is for wannabe Otaku. True connoisseurs of the medium have an AniDB profile, with a creation date long before MAL even existed.

:p
You made me look up whether I had an account (I'd never label myself as an anime "connoisseur" or "aficionado"... but rather "intolerant with a few notable exceptions")...

but yeah... I do have an AniDB profile that I created back in 2008...

Of course you can! I debated the deep philosophical points of Noir on AniDB before some of you were born, and you can probably still find it if you want to make fun of me ;)

In all seriousness though, AniDB is one of the most feature-rich and "complete" hobby-related sites out there, and still entirely non-commercial and ad-free after almost 2 decades in operation. It's admirable.
BoardGameGeek is another website that comes to mind.

It doesn't look terrible to me, but to be fair I haven't played any of the previous games. (I usually don't play FPS with rare exceptions for coop)

Durante being a normie confirmed. Really, Evangelion?
My first anime, as with most folks my age growing up in Poland was Dash Kappei and Captain Tsubasa

Did Monster Boy get better regional pricing? I could have swore the price was higher a few hours ago.

Yeah, they updated the prices.

They posted here "We're looking into the regional price thing again. Some prices are updated on GOG now pending approval from Steam. ":

I'm not sure what the hell is going on, but Bethesda is selling STEAM keys for Wolfenstein Youngblood/Cyberpilot in RU/CIS region instead of Bethesda.net keys:

Considering that Rage 2 retail sales in RU/CIS region were abysmal, maybe they decided to switch them for Steam keys in these regions? I honestly have no idea what's going on in Bethesda's mind anymore.

not sure what i am gonna do .... , that was just what was on my mind and currently not in a good mood to think clearly :negative-blob:

currently i am in favour of either "scraps it all" or trailer thread (in similar "fuck humanity i do it for myself and myself alone" aka how i do my twitter)

absolute minimum i want to have is steampage and trailer and i dont think having little hyperlink noone will ever notice for steampage is what i wanted with it ... aka mostly summary of interesting stuff thats coming in trailer form ,

but maybe its redundant with steampage thread Mor and Lashy do so and Tizoc's monthly pics :confused-face:
i guess good riddance and more time for me

Will see when my head clears out ,need to check how it looks on the phone first anyway before going all fuck phone users and deciding what to do
Nooooooooooooes!

I really appreciate your posts prudis ! But if you really want that extra time for yourself then I won't hold it against you.

Interesting game exists

Me: Looks cool, will buy at some point.

Me:

I hear Jack Sparrow has done a mighty fine job on Tetris Effect. Curse him! Curse him I tell ye
Dammit, I kinda really want Monster Boy, but I have already so many games to finish, but I loved the PC (and Switch) demo.

Might just buy it I guess.

prudis Take some time off it for a while, it's not a job so if it's not fun for you then back away for a bit and recharge. I rarely view sites on mobile so i can't comment on the formatting and i'd obviously like to see you carry on but not if it's a chore. Get a cuppa, sit back, put your feet up and chat bollocks with the rest of us for a bit.
its not like its a chore or work , actually its kinda calming for me when i am not in the mood to play/watch something , its just today i had really really bad "offline life" day which made a bit more stingy about the "it fucks my mobile" complaints

Nooooooooooooes!

Funny to see them turn Wolfenstein into a shlooter. But you can't hate it too much. There is just too much risk nowadays to release a linear 6-7hr singleplayer fps game. Like its practically impossible to make money on that game design unless you have a very popular brand with a large marketing campaign behind it. Putting in some MTXs, co-op and grind will at least let them support/GaaS up the game + increase chance of a higher $$$ return on it long term.

I still need to play Old Blood and New Colossus so I have a long way before I get around to Youngblood.

Also the cover art is 5 stars. That alone will keep the game on my wishlist :D

I mean it's an expansion pack essentially, so I say let them keep the mainline games as single player focused shooters and the "X Blood" as whatever kind of gameplay they want to test out, so long as they're both decent quality/fun

I wanted to remind you that I doubt we have under 10 year olds on this forum, but then I went to MAL and found out that Noir really turned 18 this year. Now I feel even older than usual.

So seems I figured out what my issue with Spark the Electric Jester is
1- Delete the old save file and disable steam cloud
2- Remap keyboard to controller instead of using base controller

Doing that the game finally run for me.

I don't think you can go back once you cross that line. GaaS is like a disease with no cure for dev teams. Once you change the culture for a company and start pursuing MTX, loot boxes, co-op, content updates etc its pretty much becomes permanent.

Seeing what happened with Fallout 76, Youngblood and the new Arkane IP...I think its safe to say the singleplayer only future is dead at Bethesda. The Bat signals are all turned on for Wolf3 development. Even DOOM Eternal is pushing some stupid 2v1 mode.

And worst of all Starfield + Elder6 will most likely have online/GaaS mechanics of some kind :(

RIP #saveplayer1

While the perception and rush of GaaS as money printing machines was certainly a real thing, I disagree that it's the safer route to take now - the pool of people that play GaaS isn't significantly expanding and the supply of GaaS has ballooned an insane amount, to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if some of them don't endure much longer. Gamers don't have time to split between 20 different GaaS titles, usually like 2 or 3, and you have to stand out to survive now there.

FO76 is actually not that different than FO4, as far as loop is concerned. FO4 already had pretty bad narrative, it was essentially entertaining by exploring, looting, building, in a cycle, basically a single-player GaaS, and even the idea of FO76 rubbed a lot of people the wrong way (again, even though the actual loop is basically identical to 4, but to be fair 4 was not the most liked of the games).

The market for GaaS is crowded beyond belief right now and I am surprised at how many games are treading water in it even now, but the competition for a decent linear co-op FPS is way the hell smaller (none?) and Wolfenstein has enough recognition where I wouldn't expect it to suffer.

Spark surprised me, despite the low budget there is a real gem of a game there.
