Alright, so let's forget about all the games I mentioned previously, because I started a bunch of new ones

After Nabs mentioned Mable and the Woods and I gave it a try, I took a look into my Twitch library and tried a bunch of other games....

Started and finished Wonderboy: The Dragon's Trap. It was neat.

Tried Whispering Willows, which is a 2D horror puzzle adventure. Also neat so far.

Tried InnerSpace, which is... interesting. I basically only played through the prologue and the world is fascinating in its weirdness.

Right now I'm focusing on Adventure Pals, which is completely nonsensical, but a lot of casual fun.

Also started up Wandersong on Steam. Super charming, but the platforming is a bit eh.

And talking about previously mentioned games, I'm in chapter 12 of World of Final Fantasy. Still really good.
Well and I also made it to the hub in Prey.

And because that's not enough, I'll be starting Yoku's Island Express soon. :sweaty-blob:

I'm still playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, but in truth I'm mostly taking screenshots.
I've finished Deadlight after having it in my backlog for ages, I'll try to get the last achievement this week-end I think.

I also played a couple of hours of Wolfenstein Youngblood with my brother. I like the gameplay itself, the added verticality and I find both sisters likeable, but there's one thing that baffles me: why can't I see a full and clear map of each area? Who decided this?!
I hate only having the minimap :anguished-face:

Fire Emblem Three Houses.

I'm a little shocked how much I like it. Picked it up on a whim because of a good trade-in deal and got hooked on the Hogwarts vibe of it. Good fun. Golden Deer -- the house I picked --are also a pretty wholesome bunch (so far). That's nice.

I'm still hooked to Pathfinder: Kingmaker and lately its all I've been playing, except for some Waframe sessions and trying some games that I had bought previously.

One tip for people who may be interested: always try to focus in the main quest first, the chapters end after a set amount of time has passed and if you ignore it shit start happening over your kingdom. I learned it the hard way 😑

I'm also enjoying the companions quests even though some aren't as good as the others. Like Jaethal's quest, I despise her character but after advancing her quest I'm curious to know more about her past and what exactly happened to her.

Nok-Nok keeps being the addition to the party, too bad he can't become a counselor. If only I could choose him just to see the chaos ensue...
Shamefully quoting myself from the steam thread 😅

Yeah I added SFV and Tekken 7 to my plate too.

Historically not a fan of the genre, especially since my life has abandoned its social side years ago. Man those Micro Maniacs local sessions were great, and I played hundreds of combats in fighters to please a friend.
And I’m still shit. I can relatively regularly use special moves, but as soon as they become multi steps or if we talk combos ? Nothing.

On the character side, I like Laura, Rashid, and just discovered the adorable Menat. Several nice new characters.

Didn’t try Tekken yet.

As I said in the review thread, I put in 7 hours of Titanfall over the weekend, getting a late start even though I had a code for it last week. Game is too big for me. I get bored waiting turns and all the macro in between fights. I want more HOMM, less Civ.

But China wasn't going to conquer itself! Now that I am somewhat competent at Three Kingdoms, I might return to my original "day one patch" game with Cao Cao where Yuan Shao vassalized 1/4 of China. I can build up a war chest and research as I plot and scheme....which is what Cao Cao is supposed to be doing anyway.

I've still got that fucking Saturn hooked up. I just played panzer dragoon 2 for the first time. I can really rewind myself back to those times and I was holding it up to other games that were around in that period.

So back then, if you wanted to have a rail shooter like that, it had to be pretty good. A couple years before, you had FMV games popping up in the genre. Not a good look. They were packing creature shock into CD ROM kits. If you weren't there, take my word for it, creature shock was trash. And a bunch of other low-effort games that came in as rail shooters were trash. One of the cdi's showcase games, chaos control, was an fmv rail shooter.

Still a popular genre at arcades, but generally of less interest to those who came regularly for the fighting and racing games.

So in the post-doom world, if you wanted to do a rail shooter it had better be damn good. Eventually, Star Fox 64 came along. Masterful game.

And here is panzer dragoon 2. Not masterful. But a hell of a game. The game play is thin and not as tightly balance as you may expect. There will be cheap hits and confusing angles from time to time.

... Actually I want to stop there. Without being as good as Star Fox 64, panzer dragoon 2 conveys a vision. Fully justified in its existence as a rail shooter and the praise it got back in the day. Worth playing.

Edit: that certainly could have used a proofreading before hitting post. Sorry guys!

I finished Adventure Pals yesterday, so according to plan I started Yoku's Island Express (thanks again FunktionJCB :cat-heart-blob: ).
I love Metroidvanias and this game is already amazingly charming, going to have a lot of fun with this.

And because I still don't have enough on my plate and Fanatical happened, I've added The Coma and Detention to my soon-ish play-list

I am juggling between WOW and a learning curve of Crusader Kings II.
Because of this I have put on hold finishing Stalker shadows of Chernobyl, a fresh Fallout 4 run with all Doc's included, and a brief return to Rome TW.

Not enough time.

I'm going to make a proper start on ONI myself next too - trying to stay away from the wikis, but it looks like a bit of a learning curve, so we'll see how long that lasts!
Good luck m8! There are several things that I probably wouldn't have figured out myself, because of my limited knowledge of gasses and fluids.

One tip from me: be sure to respect the in and out of a transformer, or your entire colony will be powdered down 😂

Omg welcome to it. Those are both such good games. SFV, T7, And Guilty Gear are like a trifecta of incredibly dope fighting games this gen. It's nice that they represent 3 different styles.

Any plans to go online or enjoying solo?

Dropped Night Call because it kept glitching out (might be a game issue or a Windows issue since I was playing the Gamepass version) and I failed the game with no clear indication of what I did wrong so I got annoyed.

Now I'm still playing Monster Boy and Fire Emblem but I also started Distraint 2 and Gibbous a Cthulhu Adventure.

Any impressions on Gibbous? Almost pulled the trigger myself yesterday, but hesitated after seeing some mixed reviews. To be honest I'm not that concerned if the puzzles tend to be straightforward but seeing criticism of characters & plot / writing in general made me hesitate. Might just be that those things are very subjective, but I couldn't really tell from the trailers whether they were likely to work for me or not.

Put some more time into Yoku's Island Express.
This is such a delightfully charming game, I love it.

I have 58% completion right now according to the game. Got the diving and the sootling "skills" and am on my way to deliver the 2nd main quest message.
I'm not the biggest pinball pro, so some of the sections can take some tries, but so far nothing has felt really annoying yet.

I put dreams in once or twice a week. Shit is weird.

It's not like I would have expected. I played a lot of Little big planet, and I knew that the community want to break out of the confines of a side-scroller, but I underestimated how far they wanted to break out. The best stuff in a given session is mostly not going to be actual games at all.

You're going to see artworks you can roam around in. Hilarious jokes
that can basically only be told in video game form. And some short and sweet walking simulators that can really make an impression.

It's weird. It's not exactly a thrill-a-minute. And it's not addictive like a game is. It's like my drive to play is more about curiosity. And so far, that curiosity has been satisfied with every time

The submissions are definitely getting more polished and complex, too.

So after finishing Yoku's Island Express I started Detention yesterday, and uh, I'm already done
That was really creepy and went places I didn't expect it to and was generally just really good.

Next up I gave Lords of the Fallen a try. Played until the first boss and hm. Not really sold to be honest. Not sure how to describe it, but combat doesn't feel satisfying. For example, where's the oomph when I hit someone with my big-ass warhammer?
I guess I may give it another try some time, but for now I'm probably done? I'm just glad I got it for like 60c so it's whatever.

Now I feel like giving The Adventures of Fei Duanmu and The Coma: Recut a try.

I'm pretty mixed about SFV solo unfortunately at the moment. The eternal fight money polemic I guess. I'm cool with the concept, I'm cool with the idea of DLC, it's not that. But as a casual gamer, I feel the rate is just too slow to be meaningful. And as I said, Capcom wants to sell me things, that's ok. But the resulting effect is I don't have a feeling of progression. Which is too bad, because again as a casual that's one less reason to launch the game.

And on the learning the game front, it's difficult to throw shade at such a rich game, tuto wise, but again as a noob there is still no way to know what I'm not doing right when a combo fails.

Edit - Btw Crayon , I don't seem to have you on my steam friend list. That's a huge problem, that I would like to see fixed asap, yeah.

I'm playing the Wonder Boy remake, and wooh-boy is this old school. I didn't realize it was just a straight remake at first, so it took me by surprise. I will say, I am still liking it. I will also say, I'm absolutely looking up walk-throughs when I end up lost. I think I'm on the last dungeon, lets hope I can get through this.

It's a remake of III, so there are lots of things you need to hit or explore that doesn't seem so obvious at first. I even had to google how to switch characters. I'm just not in that 1989 mindset. I'm getting there, though.

The Adventures of Fei Duanmu is fun so far. I played through the prologue case and I'm no in the main case. It has some interesting decoding puzzles.
Translation of the first case was really good outside of the occasional small grammar hickup, but it's noticeably gone downhill in case 2 :/
Like it's generally still alright, but when compley topics come up the quality drops immediately and significantly. Stll easy enough to understand, but very stiff + grammar mistakes.

Plan on finishing it though. The characters are fun, the story and puzzles are interesting. Fei himself is a very amusing main character.

On the other hand I might put The Coma on hold. It's too stressful. The "there is a killer that randomly pops up and when it notices you chases you until you're either dead or managed to hide, and you limited stamina and hiding spots are not everywhere and there is no autosave and specific save spots" aspect is really bumming me out. Like it was tense and scary the first 10 times, but now it's just getting annoying. The game is atmospheric enough and interesting to explore without constant interuptions.
Was looking for a cheat for infinite health or making the killer not show up, and I found one but that appeared to be moved to WeMod - does anyone have experience with that? I'm not sure I like the idea of having to make an account and stuff for cheats - just give me an oldschool CheatEngine table.

After finally getting my Priest to 60 on a Private Vanilla WoW server and getting over my addiction to that terrible game again, I had the time to return to other games.
I beat Yakuza Kiwami 2 today (which had been put on hold after my WoW relapse) and made good progress in Shibuya 428.
After Shibuya 428 I read through CrossChannel (not that great) and started on Chaos;Child (better) which will take me a long while.
I played through Claire's Resident Evil 2 Remake route, and started up Trials of Mana which was suspended because I impulse-bought Fire Emblem 3 Houses. I don't care much for the tactics segments (which are laughable easy on normal difficulty), but I never knew that managing a class of students who all hate each other can be so fun!

I shoot you my handle pm!

Honestly for sfv... there's not a lot going on as far as progression other than shopping with real money lol. Tekken is a tiny bit better.

But both are games where you want to go sniff around for sparring partners. What you do is go lose to randoms until you come across someone who you have a good fight with (more at your level) and likes to rematch you. Send them a friend request and they probably will appreciate it. In games as populated as sfv and t7, you can probably get a few like that playing on a friday and a saturday. Then make lobbies with your new peeps and only fight randoms if you want to look for more. This is definitely the best way to have fun in these games. That's form personal experience because it's been a long time since I was able to actually practice any given game. Like I'm super trash at guilty gear (I'm not even sure I play it right) but I have a little list of players who are also starting at the bottom and when we see each other online we want to play each other to have nice evenly matched games. I've played fg since sf2 and this is how I get max enjoyment for minimal legwork these days. Allows me to casually play like... any number of fg whenever I want with almost no practice, but still have the trill of playing against live opponents. It's awesome when you all suck and learn slowly lol.

Gotta get you ass whooped like 20 times for every friend you find tho.

I have started playing Final Fantasy IX. Installed the Moguri mod which enabled better background pictures for the game.
But the port feels so broken. The most noticeable thing is the wide-screen resolution. You can see black bars on both sides. Sometimes when characters go outside the intended visible area you can still see them.
When casting magic spell you can see the magic animation aren't centered on the character or monster.
There are a lot more broken things in the game. I am not sure if it's the Moguri mod that broke it, I will uninstall it to see if it fixes the problems.

Have they changed the overworld music? I can't remember the music that's being played while in the overworld

I'm playing MechWarrior 2 in dosbox. It may look like im playing dark forces on steam, but i stuck my mechwarrior conf in there lol so i can use the steam controller. I cant get the controller to work with dosbox otherwise. Worth the finicking tho. Steam controller is perfect for handling a game like this.

It's been aminute since i played it. Last time was years ago and funny enough was the ps1 version, which if you ask me is a very good remix of the game. But playing the proper dos version before that? Been a pretty ling time. Ten years.

Still fun. These vehicle sims that used to be popular are such a nice balance. The ones that take patience to get the hang of but not with so many buttons that you get bogged down trying to pull out of the driveway.
