If you participated in the GMG summer sale with the Intel bundles, you may be getting an email with another code for 1 extra game. The games aren't particularly great, and many of them are VR titles. Here's the list:

Beatbuddy, Dreadnought, Killing Floor: Incursion (VR), Nevermind (VR), Intel Jacket for PUBG, Rockband VR (Oculus / VR), Star Trek: Bridge Crew (Steam Key), Warhammer: Endtimes.

I'm not reading too much into it. I think they got what they came for and decided to maximize potential reach. Smart. By all accounts, this game has the potential to get pretty big.
Smart? Probably. Scummy? Definitely. By accepting Epic's moneyhats, these devs are actually supporting Epic in their quest to cripple Steam as much as possible. Doing so and then abusing Steam for extra advertising is a huge d*ck move imo.

Hmm, started playing Gears 4. It nicely summarizes the prior triology, and I must say I like it a lot more than my time with Gears 1 UE. It controls much nicer, the levels are actually colorful and not dark and brown, and god the characters have decent writing and banter. It's not just trashy dudebro line after the other. And it's not just an all men group, and I really like the writing and voice acting on Kait. (From the promo I take it she's the lead on Gears 5, which honestly, I'd prefer for Gears 4 as well. JD feels like a side kick compared to her)
Haha Yakuza suggested that I switch to easy mode... Good because I was just about to uninstall it.XD
Never saw that, lol. You playing Kiwami 2?

I feel so cultured, drinking red wine and playing Yakuza :D
And you should! Yakuza is fantastic.

Well then
Yeah due to the RPG mechanics some enemies can be bull... erm... "punch sponges" shall we say. You can either level up or reduce the difficulty to deal with that. Whatever you do though, tailor the game to make it more enjoyable for you. That story is not to be missed!

I'm playing Yakuza 0, not sure how old it is and if they've changed things up nowadays. But the game certainly feels old!XD But I'm liking it so far, just not big fan of long as fights and failing at them and having to do them over and over again. I don't mind playing it as easy as possible, just like being in the world, for the story.

Yeah if it wasn't for the story and the world I would have given up.XD I'll try to grind so that I'm way to overpowered for everything and just enjoy the story.

The story is definitely worth it! If you have fun grinding, have at it. If you feel like it's a waste of time, well, there's always cheat engine to accelerate that process!

Damn. Saviour is a long way out. I guess the trailer + steam page had me thinking it was closer to release.

Oh I played Yakuza 0, though I didn't have so much issues that the game ever suggested a difficulty change to me. Still, it's great that it has those options, you should play it on your own terms. You're in for a treat with this one.

Ruvon from my understanding and based on their post on the forums, the original Wrack was commercial failure , so they went roguelike-ish with the sequel and dont plan to go back to it because of that

EDIT:
I think it's pretty unlikely that happens. It's not a question of whether or not we want to do it - we talked (too) openly about doing other episodes, and obviously there's the data mined stuff you and others have uncovered.

At the end of the day though, it's all about what you the audience wants. Wrack is a little above 70%, and interest in the game was waning before it was even released. We had a very difficult time getting the game coverage during its launch (some sites posted about the alpha and Early Access releases, but not the full), and even though we were able to land some major bits of publicity (like being speedrun at AGDQ 2016), it didn't create any meaningful interest or sales for the game. People weren't interested by what they saw.

Fast forward to today, and now the oldschool shooter market is even more crowded, and other studios are much more on board with the idea of being retro (Ion Maiden uses the Build engine) than we ever were. We would have an even more difficult time standing out and satisfying this audience.

So, the answer to "Who would know about Wrack episode 2/3, let alone buy it?" is unfortunately pretty much nil. Wrack was not an easy and cheap game to produce, so we have to put our efforts towards what you out there want - which, unfortunately, appeared to not be Wrack.

Dafuck. This is the sequel of Wrack, the old cell shaded shooter ? It's now a FPS / tower-defense... First game was not a bad game, but with Exoverse, I'm not sure I can be interested in this gameplay...
This is mindblowing! At least it should been made with online coop in mind, that would make more sense than a single player experience.

Moss is amazing if you have a vr headset and haven't picked it up, the diorama effect is the best I've seen and it had me crawling on the floor just to appreciate all the detail and scale of the environments versus the cute mouse.

Pretty simple puzzles and hack n slash combat but at least uses the motion controllers to let you slow down an enemy with one hand while controlling Quill with the other which is fun. Presentation definitely makes it stand out tho.

Work is public domain
Is it really?

As far as I'm aware, the source-code was indeed released as public domain, but the actual games are still commercial, copyrighted works, and the actual brand "Zork" is owned by Activision.

If anyone wants to add Gears 5 (from Gamepass) to Steam for Controller support, check out GloSC. It's not that complicated. Just check Enable overlay, Virtual controllers, launch game, and close shortcut (you might not want to check this for Gears) . For game path, add this Microsoft.HalifaxBaseGame_8wekyb3d8bbwe!GearGameShippingInternal

Finding the game path is usually as easy as hitting that UWP button, but some games make it tougher to find.

Moss is definitely something that I'll pick up down the line. Thanks for the impressions.

Thanks a lot ! I was pretty sure first episode was a commercial failure (I had my key in a bundle few months after release if I remember correctly), that's one more reason to be surprised this other game from same franchise even exists !

Damn, Wrack was released 5 years ago... who took my youth away ? what's the ransom ? give me these years back, or...

I promised myself to not buy anymore games this month, of course I failed.

I pirated Jet Island as I had no idea what the game was about, even after watching some videos.

Turns out, it's damn fun so I bought it. :p

So I took a look at the eShop today to check if Sushi Striker was on sale. Holy moly shitballs the store is overswamped with games. Not does the eShop only take time to load new games while scrolling, but the lack of user-specified store preferences like Steam has make the eShop a nightmare to scroll through.

Overall, there's just so many fucking games. Many of the are probably decent to great, but there's just so goddamn many of them.

They are not fighting for my money, but for my time.
I mentioned something about this previously and ya the eShop has some features that are left to be desired. As least it does have some features over the PS4 PSN store. One example is being able to look through a publishers catalogue

I’m watching the Apple conference dont ban me lashman
I am too :fgo_shuten_sip:
I didn't watch it but the news was somewhat interesting to me. I thought the iphone 11 looked really cool, and the $699 price wasn't too bad either. Seemed like I might finally have an easy choice to jump off from my Huawei... but then I learned the resolution isn't even 1080p?

Oh no no no. :notlikethisblob:

This makes me happy. I hope MS keeps up the good work on PC front and that PC-Gamers reward them for it.

I'm fine with the delay of a PC version honestly... Gives me time to upgrade from my 1080ti, hopefully Nvidia has something new out by then. Also I hope SE partners with them again for graphics features and such. Hopefully SE learned a lot from FFXV port, which honestly, when run on Ultra and with the Nvidia features is still one of the best looking games available right now. It especially shines at 4K plus. I can't even get 30FPS at 5k, but goddamn, at 5k plus the hair looks so beautiful!

Since this came out today:

I figured I'd also post one of my favorite Spiderweb Software things:

I REALLY REALLY suggest watching it if you have an hour to spare and you want to get inside someones head who has navigated and survived the games industry since the 90s covering pretty much every topic

The resolution is 1792×828 px but pixel density is insane.

You know, if the gaming press wanted an easy way to dunk on Valve, the mishandling of Dota's pro-scene would probably be a great place to start.

Don't forget that Orochi 4 Ultimate comes out next year.
Hm, didn't knew about that and was almost grabbing it now. Guess I can wait.

In other news, Dusk Diver is leaving early access on October 24th, and the game will receive a combat overhaul, UI improvements, a new side-quest system and it won't be locked to 30FPS anymore, as well it will have extra options regarding graphics. There will be a price increase once that version launches and current saves won't be compatible with the updated version. Might grab it now but dunno.

Ah, late Summer nights. There is a cicada outside my window making it's terribly loud screeching noise... but if I play Daoko music it stops. Then I turn off the music and it starts it shit again.

Can't say I mind too terribly, cuz I friggin' love Daoko, but I gotta sleep here sometime and I hope this bugger flies off to leave me alone before than...

Bring on Winter already. In Winter all the bugs here go away.
