Mike Wilson, your gamecock is showing and it's not a pretty sight
I'll say it again. I've never understood why people thought Devolver were 'cool'. They are your Wendy's tier - corporate Twitter account trying to act like a human.
Nah, my money flew elsewhere. Also they still smell asshole.
it's kinda the same situation as with volvoI'll say it again. I've never understood why people thought Devolver were 'cool'. They are your Wendy's tier - corporate Twitter account trying to act like a human.
we know:Borderlands 3 has been cracked.
... also this, yesHahaha even if it was 2011, to think TIm thought that was a good reply, 2011 isn't "new".
If there is one thing we PC gamers are known for it's being very behind the times. 2011 might as well have been Sunday, amirite?Hahaha even if it was 2011, to think TIm thought that was a good reply, 2011 isn't "new".
Tim being stuck in 2011 explains a lot thowe know:

... or they're preparing something BIG (like a huge dump of egsclusive announcements at some event or something ... instead of just trickling them one by one every few weeks)Does anyone feel like the writing is on the wall at this point? While I don't want to rush to conclusions, it seems like EGS is all but done for as this point, at least judging by publisher's and developer's actions. High-profile announcements the likes of which we had 8-9 months ago are all but gone. Public personalities are done trying to pretend it's about the little guys and competition. Even the media is pretty dreadfully silent. The only deals still coming through are those that were likely closed at least half a year from now.
The last, pretty miserable swan song of EGS seems to be "multi-store future" as if they are playing up their legacy while quietly preparing to bury the store.
It's extremely unlikely Epic will give up so easily. I'm pretty sure they'll keep giving away games for at least one more year, and I expect more moneyhats for AAA games, using the X times more active players for BL3 to prove that people don't care. I also expect them to continue cloning Steam in higher tempo.Does anyone feel like the writing is on the wall at this point? ... speaking of which - something tells me it's not gonna happen any time soon (as a reminder - they said they'd open it up one year after launch)The most interesting moment will be when they open up their store for everyone.
... either an asshole or a fool.
One thing's for sure: With Microsoft, Bethesda, Bungie and EA having a strong presence on Steam, Epic's plan to starve Steam of big releases has utterly failed. I don't know how they can come back from this.Does anyone feel like the writing is on the wall at this point? hopefully they can'tI don't know how they can come back from this.
I think that's the logical conclusion at this point. With most publishers back on Steam, Activision not selling games on EGS and Ubisoft being on uPlay too, they will have to rely on indies, some AA stuff and the rare big game like Borderlands 3 to try and get people to buy from them. Even if they do, which based on what we've seen so far is not very likely, they won't be able to make a dent in Steam's place on the market. I'm curious as to how Sweeney is planning to retaliate because right now it seems like he's screwed.hopefully they can't
yeah, things certainly don't look great for him right nowI think that's the logical conclusion at this point. i think most people here just used gamepass to play itI have a copy of The Outer Worlds for Epic, but I would rather wait for it to hit Steam... and I don't have an EGS account. If you want it, let me know know either here or DM. It's great to be back with the fam.
The sensible optioni think most people here just used gamepass to play it
Yeah, my buddy who just built his PC played it on GP and sent me the code.i think most people here just used gamepass to play it
By securing more exclusive. Like Death Stranding of FF7R.One thing's for sure: With Microsoft, Bethesda, Bungie and EA having a strong presence on Steam, Epic's plan to starve Steam of big releases has utterly failed. I don't know how they can come back from this.
define big?Anyone has an idea when did the last time Epic announce a big game exclusivity? RDR2 doesn't really count as they never actually announce it as an exclusive.
Not an indie? AA games like Control and The Outer Worlds should count.define big?
Well Gearbox is quite big. But it's more of Randy's personal vendetta against Steam I think. It was never happening anyway, it's not like most truly big publishers went to Epic, it was basically Ubisoft (and they did it to just go to their own platform watch them go back to Steam in a few years like EA maybe) and far smaller ones. Either way. When there was that clearly paid-for stream of social/media talk about the lack of big releases on Steam it had been just after games like Resident Evil 2 and they were completely out of their minds to even suggest it >_>
Borderlands 3?Anyone has an idea when did the last time Epic announce a big game exclusivity? RDR2 doesn't really count as they never actually announce it as an exclusive.
That was in April, right?Borderlands 3?
Running out of money is impossible because Fortnite. Running out AAA games to moneyhat probably. How many indies goes EGSclusive these past six months? That was in April, right?
So yeah, it's been a very long time since they announced their last big exclusive. Hopefully they've run out of money to do that anymore.
They can, but one big game each year isn't nearly enough to create any sort of momentum. Mainstream gamers will buy the game, play it for a while until they finish it then go back to buying everything else from Steam and forgetting that EGS exists.By securing more exclusive. Like Death Stranding of FF7R.
Fortnite has been in decline, both in popularity and revenue. They know that they can't pay for exclusivity forever, especially with the current situation. The first half of 2020 is already packed with AAA games. Late 2019 like now should be the perfect time to announce them to build up hype.Running out of money is impossible because Fortnite. Running out AAA games to moneyhat probably. How many indies goes EGSclusive these past six months?
Epic doesn't have to run out of money to stop chasing exclusives. They will stop if they determine that it's no longer worth the investment.Running out of money is impossible because Fortnite. Running out AAA games to moneyhat probably. How many indies goes EGSclusive these past six months?
oh, they absolutely will ... that's why i'm thinking there weren't any big announcements for a while - they're saving all of them for The Keighleys™I fully expect Epic to try and have a big presence at the game awards.
If that happened I fully expect Death Stranding and FF7R. Maybe Kingdom Hearts too.oh, they absolutely will ... that's why i'm thinking there weren't any big announcements for a while - they're saving all of them for The Keighleys™
