I know it's Tyler McViker, but his latest video mentioned Valve hiring devs from Rockstar, Naughty Dog, id and so on and I don't know if they would be happy working on skins.
Just from data mining Source 2 game updates we know Valve is working on a new Half Life game. That, with the hiring of said devs makes it seem like Valve has a pretty big push internally to get a new Half Life out, which is great.

I assume people see the lower price and get suspicious of the quality? Like cheap = bad or poor in quality?
Years ago, this is one of the reasons why indie devs were saying to price games higher than $10-$15 since others would view the game as low quality and a cash grab. It's sad that people view lower price tag with lower quality.

This also backfires because once in a while a Stardew or Terraria or Hollow Knight appears and then for the next 8 years people wonder why they should pay $30 or $40 when that game is $15...

It's also a bit sad that they have to justify the price by saying the game is 30-60 hours long. When you get older you will value your time far more than money. For me personally, I would have been more interested if they had said it's a 20 hour game than a 30 hour one.

I guess Atlus/Sega will probably put Denuvo on their demos next. Or stop the demos altogether. Or stop using Denuvo. lol

"Controversial" opinion:

In principle, I am not a fan of DRMs as a concept. However: I do not mind Denuvo. I have over 50 games with it and do not remember experiencing any problems because of it. It is night and day compared to DRMs of old (Securom, Starforce, Safedisc). Maybe there were some bad implementations of Denuvo (I remember some grumbling about RE8), but overall, I can't really tell if a game has it or not.
Moreover, Denuvo actually works. In (lot more) cases than not, it stops day 1 piracy. It puts PC gaming on same footing as consoles (where piracy is impossible), and allows us to see actual sales of games and interest by paying customers.
Third point, recently there was a study that iirc showed that piracy can result in about 20% of lost revenue if possible on first week. That is a lot of money. Imagine investing tens of millions of euros into a project. Why wouldn't you want only paying customers to use it?

HOWEVER

I do think that from long-term and game preservation perspective, Denuvo should always be eventually removed. It can be a month after launch, or three months, or year, but developers and publishers should remove it once sales slow down (or the moment a crack appears), always and without exception. And provide GOG release.
I could accept Denuvo if it had an expiration date after which it would forcibly be patched out. Meanwhile I've been waiting almost 8 years for it to be removed from FFXV so I can finally buy it. And Dragon Quest XI was removed from the stores before they ever removed Denuvo from the game.

looks quite nice for fans of old Impression Games (Caesar III, Pharaoh, Zeus,...)

(I'm still puzzled as to why the forum doesn't let me use italics or anything anymore; all buttons are gray...)

edit: I have now tested it for a bit, and it works flawlessly on Linux and looks quite good indeed. A lot of attention to detail in the design of the buildings. I like the graphical style a lot more than that of the recent Pharaoh remake, for instance.

The black friday or winter PSN sales need to have a very deep discount on Miles Morales.

Still need to play that before I can get hyped for niche man 2

Sony is inching closer and closer to simultaneous PC releases. :evilblob:
But... but... if the gap continues to shorten then... what point is there in all those PS consoles and games I bought?
If more and more pc users play these games faster and faster then... it's just a matter of time before Sony gets out of the hardware business...
Why? Is pc money so good? So good that it's worth to destroy a 30 years old brand?
If this continues then I... then it means that I...

Is Miles Morales required to properly understand Spiderman 2?
Well, it has Miles and Peter sharing the protagonist role and MM is meant to properly introduce Miles into the series.
You will still understand it fine though.
I hope we get Gwen in Spider Man 3.

Everyone already knows who Miles is though. I guess the question is whether there's any important story continuity? The MM game is rather expensive (at least in my region) and I'm not the biggest fan of the series to begin with so I'd probably prefer to skip it if I could.

Miles Morales is a lot better (paced as well) than the first game and it is shorter so defo worth playing.

No clue and I don't want to look up stuff to spoil myself on anything.

But it is an Insomniac game and they are building this universe with many more games in the future. I think it makes sense to play it. Kind of like playing all the Arkham games if you enjoy any 1.

I had to drop AC Odyssey, seemed great but I got too frustrated with too much dying. I don't mind failing encounters but so much of that game is the same thing so even my hand started hurting from button smashing lol

Trust me when I say this: just play on easy
Difficulty in modern AC games is not worth it. Enemies just become damage sponges while nothing else changes: same number of enemies, same type of enemies, same AI patterns, same drops. It's much more enjoyable to kill them quickly enough as you level to max. Doesn't help Odyssey is probably the one AC where being able to consistantly assassinate enemies is impossible since they're HP are so high even stealth critical hits aren't enough to finish the job, unless you're severly overleveled which you won't be at high difficulty because everything will scale to your level minus 1

I already had on easy haha! I even had the level scaling at light, which was supposed make it so I could over level a little bit, but it didn't, all outposts were the same level as me, and as you say everything just became damage sponges.

Metaphor patch says it contains an AA option LOL. Kinda amazing they had to add that in, but good they did I guess? I haven't seen any comparisons on how it does tho.

Actually, it's the other way around. The game always had a pretty ineffective SMAA solution (due to how noisy the and contrasty the picture is, SMAA alone isn't doing much). The new patch just adds an option to replace it with the even weaker FXAA and to turn it off entirely.
