Edit: The comments on Kotaku and Reddit defending the multibillion dollar corporation are wild. I think Epic would be perfectly fine if they paid more money. They can make it up after a few seconds of skin sales.

People have grown up conditioned to undervalue any and all the work they do. That's how capitalists get away with reaping the profits from every else's labour.
It's good to see that artists are going against exploitative behaviours publicly.
it should scale with profits, that's why $3k is basically nothing compared to what epic make on fortniteIDK what an appropriate offer for a freelancer job is.
Also Epic would keep copyright of the image and the artist wouldn't be allowed to sell prints.it should scale with profits, that's why $3k is basically nothing compared to what epic make on fortnite
also this, yesAlso Epic would keep copyright of the image and the artist wouldn't be allowed to sell prints.
AW2? yes.
GenDesing? Likely not.
DEADLAB? probably.
Also, expect Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 to be EGS exclusive (Saber) as it will likelt be at the event, so part of the reel.
Already 40% offOnly one EGS exclusive and it looks like ass wow
Yeah, in fact, even my safe bet for their publishing branch was nothing at the end of the day. lots of multistore, but their exclusivity pattern is dead and over. All that hype and it ended up being a wet fart for EGS. I told you all the tweet was for the showcase in general.
What’s going on is the launcher sucks.I thought I'd download Fortnite to see UE5/Nanite and if my system can even run any of it at least in a low fidelity game like this. Is there no launching the game from its store page, I had to go to my library and figure out the top search box is not where I'm supposed to type to search within that but the one on the right side. How weird. Also, the minimize to system tray setting doesn't appear to do anything, I get both system tray and task bar anyway. What's going on here?
So then royalties?it should scale with profits, that's why $3k is basically nothing compared to what epic make on fortnite
Looks.... uninspired :S
It took six months for the Evil Dead game to become a freebie. I give this one three months.
You'll probably need EGS to play Payday 3 anyway.Ill just wait for Payday 3 thanks
?You'll probably need EGS to play Payday 3 anyway.
By the look of it, it was a dev hell one, so probably an old deal from 2019 or 2020 if I had to guess.I must admit I was surprised to see a new EGS exclusive third party game announced.
Idk kinda feels like if Epic had Payday 3 as an exclusive they wouldn’t have money hatted this weird knock off. Prime Matter also lists Payday 3 in their Steam publisher page bio. But even if its exclusive it’ll just wait a year. It’ll have DLC, patches and a discount by then.
He's about three steps away from appearing on InfoWars.

I was half joking. I know Starbreeze has specifically mentioned Steam as a launch platform for Payday 3, but at the same time I saw a post from them over a year ago where they mentioned they were negotiating with platforms for Payday 3 and talked about how Steam is really important to them. The tone of that post raised my eyebrows. FWIW, I think Payday 3 launches simultaneously on both Steam and EGS.?
Payday 3 is published by Prime Matter which has released all their games so far on Steam, most of them are also only on Steam.
impossible , the studio formed in 2020 (former Vietcong/Mafia/Arma devs)Actually looking at that Crime Bross game, based on the store page, it's the perfect dudebro macho y'all qaeda game for internet edgelords that was actually suppose to release in 2013, but has been in dev hell ever since due to the dev money going to the actors.
That was before Prime Matter. I assume they wanted to use a publisher that would publish the game on Steam, so they found Prime Matter.I was half joking. It was a joke, as in, the game look like something from 2013.impossible , the studio formed in 2020 (former Vietcong/Mafia/Arma devs)
Unless it was i dev hell at 505 at other dev and was moved to Ingame
I was surprised it was only one (very mediocre) looking game. Even Epic's published games were MIA. EGS is becoming less relevant each day...I must admit I was surprised to see a new EGS exclusive third party game announced.
Do you think for real they went that route with a game from Hi-Rez? if anything, like you said, EGS might lack some features.I guess it must either be one of those exclusive Gabe deals.

Sorry, my bad there. It was a joke.
My jokes keeps failing here.
I thought people had stopped caring about EGS game ratings. Everything is almost a 5 there anyways.
Ironically reading the Steam reviews made me more interested in the game. I thought it was primarily a city builder but it appears to be closer in gameplay to Frostpunk. I think the negative Steam reviews are a situation where user expectations didn't match reality.
I remember an Epic dev posting on Reddit several months ago that they were going to encourage developers to implement achievements. My first thought was "they'll just give them money". More power to the developers taking advantage of that.Apparently Epic is paying extra if devs implement achievements
One of these was Cyberpunk, and if I recall, the game did not even sell better than the small advance Epic paid to have it released on EGS. Of course, this is years old info at this point.I remember that they paid for some big(?) games to be on the store alongside the steam release, guess it's not a huge leap.
But that means that once they stop paying there won't be more cheevos
Indie devs to Epic after the initial wave and sales figures started to trickle out.So essentially, the best thing indie devs should do is not do anything unless Epic pays you to do it. Heck, it is viable strategy to not release your game on the platform until Epic pays you to do so.

Pretty sure Epic is paying devs and publishers for EOS integration as well.I remember an Epic dev posting on Reddit several months ago that they were going to encourage developers to implement achievements. That's quite a lot of money (IMHO) given that I assume everyone (with more than some really indie one-off engine I guess) would have built an abstraction layer that makes adding achievements for one extra storefront relatively easy at this point.Apparently Epic is paying extra if devs implement achievements
