I suck less at Tekken now. Became an Asuka main
Me and some old GAF buddies been getting into both Fortnite and SF V so I'm practicing my Sakura. Really tired of losing to my buddy who's been playing for years. SF handles way differently than Tekken obvs, like I keep tryna rack up damage while opponents are on ground etc.
Then locally with friends, I do dabble in Soul Calibur... and I gravitate towards Sophitia
Trying to suck less at all three games has been an uphill battle, but this has quickly become my favorite genre.

Anyone of you got GG Strive? I’m wondering whether to get it at current price point. I’m playing Xrd rev2 now. I heard that Strive compared to Xrd players much different. Would you say it lower learning curve to get those nice combo chains in Strive? I’m struggling in Xrd since my timing to hit buttons in row is not the best…
CDKEYS has it for fairly cheap last i checked. I was able to snag the digital deluxe for $40 USD. Honestly, it doesn't seem as difficult as XRD, admittedly I've only had like 4 hours with the game in a couple long sets.

In all seriousness, she looks dramatically changed, based on what little is shown in this teaser. Seems closer to an item placement character than the nuisance she was in Xrd. I'm pretty interested to see what all she's got.

She looks way more fun to play than her Xrd incarnation. Really excited to try her now. Seems like my kind of character.

Got GG strive in hope it would be easier to git gud. but to my surprise not so easy. or maybe just me didn't play enough.
I wonder what actually became easier in Strive which so many claim it has become compared to the other games in this series.

So this Strive patch is fantastic. Jack-O' is amazing, but hard as hell. Her combos are some of the tightest I've seen in this game, holding punch a bit too long when you mean to summon+set a minion will get you killed, I'm not sure she can summon minions in neutral against anyone if they just press when she tries it, and I suspect minion explosion setups are going to be critical to playing her well. It's a lot, and I think she's probably the most complex character in the game right now. But god damn it's fun when you just go to town on somebody with minions.
The rest of the patch seems really good as well. Some very welcome nerfs to the top tier, but they didn't just blanket nerf anybody. Anji feels like a whole new character with his Fuujin changes. Ino seems way stronger. I've heard Ky's looking pretty nasty too now. The game was remarkably well balanced for a first revision, and it's looking even better now.
Red roman cancels causing slowdown and floating on hit, simplified gatlings, slowdown on counterhits for easier hit confirms, easier combos (though Jack-O' seems to be testing that, I'm having a lot of trouble with hers) most characters had movesets cut down, air dashing isn't as fast, no more variable wakeup timings, wall-breaks limiting okizeme strength, probably more stuff I'm forgetting. Also, the lobby system is really friendly to beginners. It doesn't take long before the tower puts you in a place where you're up against players of a similar skill level.
But easy is relative, and any competitive game worth playing is going to be pushed to the point that it's hard (or break and become boring). Being easier than old GGs still gives Strive plenty of room to be harder than most games.
Jam was rumored to be coming based on data-leaks, but the latest news on that front makes it sound like she's no longer slated for season 1 (sounds like we'll get Baiken instead, oh joy, just what nobody wanted). Maybe we'll see her in season 2. She's enough of a Guilty Gear staple that I have to imagine she'll come back, especially since her mechanics would fit Strive pretty well.
