oh shit
This had better come to PC...
Wonder if they will stay true to Deadly Premonition 1 on PC, and use a Windows 98 PC as their target platform for the sequel too when porting it over.
Just finished Halo : CE today, and I gotta say, it's a pretty interesting game to experience in 2020. On one hand, I don't think it's a very good shooter in terms of its mechanics, certainly not compared to the great FPS games of the 90s. On the other hand, it has some really nice moments where the music of O'Donnel helps elevate the mood greatly. It reminds me a lot of later single-player campaigns of games like Call of Duty, with a focus on linear levels and set pieces. The one thing that's very different is the amount of backtracking, and the really stupid pacing. Literally everything in Halo 1 goes on far too long, parts of each level feels repeated like 20 times. This would be 5 hour game if you just reduce it to its core, with no padding.
It definitely feels like a prototype to what would define console FPS games for decades to come, for good or worse.
Loved the really great music, as I said, and the Anniversary edition does wonders in making Halo 1 look fantastic at times
