I think I am going to buy Planet Zoo for right now and I might get Parkitect at a later date. Planet Zoo is on sale and with Humble Choice I can get the Deluxe Edition + the Arctic pack for just a little over $40USD.

The Parkitect game likely will not be on sale again until the Summer Sale from the looks of things.

A local retailer here just increased the FFVII Remake price from the Norwegian equivalent of 52 usd to 62 usd after having been at 52 usd for months. Everything points right now to me getting the PC version unless something changes regarding price for the game.

Wasn't Mafia 3 part of a bundle not that long ago or something?

And as for Planet Zoo I did end up buying it and I'm glad (well I'm glad I got it off Humble Bundle ) that I did since people have issues with the DLC and the Deluxe Edition of the game and think it just cost too much money for what little you get.

And that one GDC video was nice, Valve should maybe think about having an abandon cart feature. But also do any of the other companies do that? One place that I think has that is GMG, but on consoles I am not sure that they have that.

Being 2K wouldn't be surprised if they launched first on Epic to avoid the question of free upgrades entirely.

When I played Mafia 2 I recall thinking that it is a very strange game. Like they made a big city but there’s zero incentive to explore it because there’s nothing there to do.

Indeed, it's not as "full" as other open-world games. The city wasn't really built to be extensively explored, outside of the places where missions take place, there's not much incentive to explore things.

But, personally, I rather liked it. It managed to convey a certain time period well, and tell a good story, with an appropriate ending, considering the subject matter.

I think I've said this before but Mafia 3 reminded me a lot of Triad Wars (I think it was called): the asynchronous multiplayer game by the studio who made Sleeping Dogs who failed miserably and finally sealed the fate of United Front Games ( :( ). That was a boring, soulless idea for an online game, let alone for a single player one.

Haha, you're on point! Remember really liking it a lot while playing it and noticing new areas and locales, fantasizing about awesome set-piece missions taking place there.... and then the credits rolled.

Was really baffled for a while and thought I missed out on a hefty chunk of content somehow.

Saints Row 3 is the only one I've played more than 5 minutes. I think I finished it on PS3, actually.

I've been playing The Evil Within lately and loving it 😻 can't believe it took me so many years to finally play this

I'm excited for the 2nd, probably will go right into that after I'm finished with this one. Thoughhhhhhh, I have a friend who is super into Dragon's Dogma and I'm considering that instead

Epic has slowed down quite a lot this year. Moneyhatting remasters for a year? Every single one of these type of remasters has been a terrible cash grab over the years so I don't know why Sweeney is even bothering with this stuff.

Their budget must have really fallen off a cliff after doing the new publishing strategy. Funding full games pretty much prevents them from doing anything as crazy as they did last year. They are just gonna ride their Ubisoft and Deep Silver deals until they expire. Not much else for them to do this year. I just hope they don't grab Mortal Shell later this year. That looks like an interesting souls like.

It's extremely likely the exclusivity deal is for Saints Row 5 as well. Also, with their publisher label, Epic is now going for permanent exclusives. They aren't slowing down on exclusivity at all. It's their long term strategy.

Wok was that game any good?
SR3? Most consider it the best release in the series.

Yet it's also a product of its time. It's all-out crazytown and that's great, but at the same time it's sophomoric as hell.

I'd call it an overall success that I have no personal interest in ever revisiting.

You're saying Saints Row 5 is a permanent exclusive?

Epic is commiting long term with the publisher label for permanent exclusives. Until then they'll keep using the timed exclusives of Ubisoft, Deep Silver and the one of two indies that make it there.

Saints Row 3 came at the 9gag lol so random xd peak. A new one should be radically different.

Nameless Chronicles is pretty good. Some location, enemy and boss reuse since it's a side-quel, but still pretty good. It's also easily running at 140fps
I think the first game is ultimately better so far, but it's fine.

Aaron D. i meant Druidstone , thats why i tagged Wok
I played it. It sure won't make anyone fall in love with turn-based tactical games but it's a very solid entry and it's worth playing if you already like the genre. I enjoyed me time with it.

I was looking for an article about a guy playing Mafia 2 with his dad who was a cop during the time it's set in and then realised it was L.A. Noire not Mafia 2. Dammit, that's 10 minutes i'm not getting back.
Here's the article anyway as it's interesting. Kinda. : Eurogamer - Night and the City

FF7R only a 87 on metacritic while the OG has 92. People complaining about padding too and this is only part 1 of several. I hope Square takes a break from doing these hybrid action combat systems for FF games. Ever since they've abandoned turn based the series hasn't been the same. So much inconsistencies and so much prolonged development. I am not buying PS4 version and just gonna wait on the complete steam edition in 2024 (or whenever the hell its finished).

FF16 needs to go back to basic turn based combat. That or do something like a new Tactics game with Original Sin combat.

Until they get more devs on board I don't think their publishing thing will be all that big tbh. The new Remedy game won't come out for years and Playdead will probably be next year. The Gen design stuff will probably never release lol.

I expect them to get a bunch of bigger devs on board but at same time I don't see them tossing money around funding full games all that much.

I just don't see the same aggressiveness as last year. Saints Row 5 could be a big one but that is yet to be announced and could be a very expensive game. I could see that not being exclusive or maybe a 6 month one.

oh shit

This had better come to PC... :cautious:
Wonder if they will stay true to Deadly Premonition 1 on PC, and use a Windows 98 PC as their target platform for the sequel too when porting it over.

Just finished Halo : CE today, and I gotta say, it's a pretty interesting game to experience in 2020. On one hand, I don't think it's a very good shooter in terms of its mechanics, certainly not compared to the great FPS games of the 90s. On the other hand, it has some really nice moments where the music of O'Donnel helps elevate the mood greatly. It reminds me a lot of later single-player campaigns of games like Call of Duty, with a focus on linear levels and set pieces. The one thing that's very different is the amount of backtracking, and the really stupid pacing. Literally everything in Halo 1 goes on far too long, parts of each level feels repeated like 20 times. This would be 5 hour game if you just reduce it to its core, with no padding.
It definitely feels like a prototype to what would define console FPS games for decades to come, for good or worse.
Loved the really great music, as I said, and the Anniversary edition does wonders in making Halo 1 look fantastic at times
