I think it's time to say "fuck you backlog" and actually play some of the "endless" games I have installed (strategy, roguelikes, building/management etc.).

I will finish Ghostrunner, The Pedestrian and Streets of Rage 4, but after those I will have to take a break from my backlog. The backlog keeps growing anyway, my curated backlog went from 100 to 154 in 2 months. Im never gonna reduce it. And my wishlist alone is at 1317 and it keeps growing every week.

By the way I thought that the Apex thing was just going to be death match the CSGO thing is welcome none the less. I thought it was going to be death match because at the end of the teaser thing you are in a drop ship like Titanfall and even do the escape thing as well.

Wonder when Horizon Forbidden West will appear on PC. Even with me owning a PS5 in the future I might wait and see if a PC version appears. And the price tag is gonna make waiting easier.

Im not that excited for Forbidden West anyways. I liked Zero Dawn, fun good game, but nothing special.

I never suffered from open world fatigue because I haven't really played that many.
Haven't played a single AC game and the only Far Cry I played was 3.

Ever since Witcher 3 which is among my top 5 games I've played Spiderman and Arkham Knight which are relatively small and don't overstay their welcome, Horizon and now GoT.
Had a great time with all of them. I had a real blast with Spiderman (probably my favorite game of that year) and I'm in love with GoT right now.

I try to avoid playing similar games back to back, one of the great things about videogames is the insane variety.

As for the backlog, the only solution is to become more picky, a game needs to be really worth my time. I only have so many hours of playing games left in my life.

I still haven't played HZD. Well, I started it but shortly after you turn into adult I decided that I wasn't getting the IQ I wanted with my gtx 1070.

So now it waits for a gpu upgrade along with few other games like Control, Jedi Fallen Order and such.

Some worthwhile reading for y'all

Yeah, I left a few Discord servers and requested a self ban a couple of times in the other forum exactly due to this. There are times when people give off an impression that they don't like your kind, attacking our cultures, views and circumstances, casually but repeatedly. That's where you're reminded that you're not one of them, and you probably don't belong there. This might sound overly dramatic for them, but I don't care, they don't have the slighest idea how I feel. I'm a nobody and won't be missed anyway.

Thankfully, this community is very caring and understanding.

Hopefully the Steam version of MH Rise comes with all the additional content day one (and preferably the inevitable G rank expansion). Rise has some really good mechanics, but hoo boy does it need a lot more content. I've actually went back to World for the time being and dabbled in some Generations Ultimate (but that game is pretty hard to go back to without all the QOL mechanics from the newer titles).

Yeah, RDR2 is Rockstar through and through. The initial part is a linear tutorial where it punishes or annoys you if you don't do exactly what it wants you to do but once you setup camp you are free to do what you want. I have ~30 hours in it and i think i'm still at the first camp. The second it let me off the leash i just went out exploring. Some activities are gated by some story beats but they're mainly at the start. It's a great looking game, with a lot to explore and discover and the story is apparently good too. I guess i'll find out when i continue on with it.

However, RDR2 has animation-priority with very few cancels so the game feels very "heavy" to control but it is more "deliberate". You can't button mash, once you commit to an action, the action has to play out before you can do something else. Some people hate it but once you get used to it's measured and deliberate approach it becomes second nature. It's a cowboy game, so take you're time pardner.
It's also a Rockstar game so it has the usual Rockstar annoyances, mainly the story missions are linear as hell and easy to fail if you think for yourself, but i find them less aggravating in RDR2 than in the GTA games which wind me the fuck up. I like watching GTA, I don't like playing it myself much.

Death Stranding is similar to RDR2 in that both have vast open landscapes to explore and a sense of wilderness to them. Death Stranding is Kojima complete with 45 minute cutscenes (of awesome). Again it is a very measured and deliberate game and also has moments of tension between hours of solitude and exploration. Again, i haven't advanced far in Death Stranding but i'm definitely going back to it.
I'll have to try Death Stranding and RDR2, thanks. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:

The most relaxing open world title I played in recent memory was Valheim. It really scratched that Elder Scrolls wanderlust vibe.

Many think of it as a multiplayer game but I quite enjoyed it solo. Might be too sandbox for what your looking for but I found the gathering/building loop super Zen.

On a similar note, also understand that Dragon Quest Builders 2 is landing on Game Pass. That one is baller as hell too.
Yeah, I've actually been playing Valheim with two friends recently, but I gotta say it's something I'd rather play alone. At least for learning the game by myself, as it kind of removes the curiosity and survival aspects when my friends already know everything and nothing is a threat to them at this point.

So it's definitely something I could check out for solo-play.

I don't think that makes any sense. If they want to maximize their earnings from the PC market, they can't just stick to older releases. I mean, they can, but why would they leave the money on the table? How many people are going to fully invest into the PlayStation-ecosystem over PC because of a few select PS5 games?

Eventually those PS5 games will be as old as the PS4 games they are porting now. Days Gone was released exactly 2 years ago. A couple of years delay is probably what we can expect going forward.

I'm really not sure about that. Sony are not interested in selling PS4 consoles any longer but the same does not hold true for the PS5.
I can't see Sony greenlighting stuff like Forbidden West on PC, and I'm still extremely doubtful about the alleged Demons Soul PC version.

I don't think any highly regarded PS4 title is off the table however. There are still quite a few they could bring over.

You're probably correct. I think Sony will hold off porting their PS5 titles until the PS6 comes out.

I don't think that releasing their exclusives on PC a couple of years later is going to have much of an effect on PS5 sales. On the other hand they're leaving a lot of money on the table by not porting them. They seem to be pretty serious about cultivating the playstation studios brand among the PC crowd.

Of course it will be on PC, it's just a question of when it will be on PC.
I do agree that we won't be seeing PS5 exclusives as long as there's not some other system released or on the way.

It's not a big deal for me really, it's Sony that will be hurting as I most likely won't pay full price for it.

Im at the point where if I get a PS5 next week Im doubtful I will buy anything other than maybe Demons Souls Remake and maybe not even that, but if Sackboy, Returnal etc. released on PC I would day 1 them for the same price as on console.

Playing games on consoles is just not as motivating, fun and interesting as it used to be. Like if God of War Ragnarok and Starfield released on the same day and I were more excited for Ragnarok I still would most likely buy Starfield because I would play it on PC. Sounds weird, I know, but it's just how it is for me these days.

Stop what you are doing and play The End of Zoe DLC for Resident Evil 7.

I think I need a shower, this was incredible :sweaty-blob:
I want a full game made out of that.
Zombie Boxing Simulator

It drives past Ridiculous Street, goes by Cray Cray Avenue, and stops in So good I can't play another game for now, City.

On mobile so its easier for me to link the Era thread but Jeff Grubb says Microsoft is going to have an update to its commitment to PC Gaming on the 29th.
Maybe we'll see Gamepass Steam announced?

Gamepass on Steam without 3rd party games

7.50$ per month would be my guess.

Would really love a Rare Replay Steam announcement more than anything else tbh.

one suggestion would be to fix their goddamn PR around Game Pass PC. Remember when they announced that EA Play for Game Pass PC had been delayed on the day it was supposed to launch, after running ads around that Dec. 15 launch date? Or a few weeks ago, when they released that ID@Xbox Game Pass sizzle reel that had the PC icon on nearly every upcoming Day 1 indie shown, and then put up a blog post shortly thereafter that indicated that only a handful of said titles were coming to PC? (fortunately, the sizzle reel appears to have been correct on that point and not the blog post, but it's still ridiculous that the blog post was never corrected)
