Still not overly impressed with what I've seen in cyberpunk. It still seems to use TW3 format of dialogue where there's 1-2 choices and then a couple of optional dialogue selections that give you a sentence or two of additional info (usually white colored in games like this). I did see ONE skill check in conversations so that's...something I guess.
Honestly I feel like the main problem they're having with the game is in how they show it off. Today's 14 minute video was the same demo the press saw at E3 and gamescom yet theirs was 50 minutes, and our video was heavily edited to show off combat and flashy shit that means nothing to me in a great RPG. Their example of a non violent route was a typical stealth route in most AAA games (it actually felt eerily similar to Deus Ex MD). They say you can do this and that and the game will have X amount of choice and non linearity but they're having a real hard time showing it in action.
Compare this to the Dying Light 2 video earlier this week where in a single ~25 minute clip we were able to see a fair amount of choice play out (like your partner dying and your choice to open up the water draining an entire section of the city and making it open to explore) as well as a lot of gameplay improvements over the original. I'm not necessarily saying one will be better than the other but it seems to me Techland has a much better idea of how to show their game off.
