Is there an easy way to get the .ico from a game icon ?
Xbox pads are pricey or out of stock, so Game Pass will have to live with Glosc. But Glosc doesn't retrieve the icons :anguished-face:
And that doesn't trigger my OCD, no... it's a nuclear meltdown in my brain when I see that.

Control releasing in two days by the way.

Why no hype Meta?

RayTracing, DLSS 2.0, cool SCP foundation like setting.
40€ for the Ultimate edition with both DLCs ain't that bad imo (though I don't know how bad regional pricing is).
Also, you'll be able top play the ultimate version on PC2 as well. For free

:toucan:
Im hyped, finished the base game already but will rebuy and go through it all again with the expansions this time. Will also be able to use DLSS and raytacing for the first time. In saying that though - Wasteland 3 and tell me why are releasing in gamepass so, will have to divide time between them.

Curious to see the price of Control. It'll need to be a reasonable 'one year delay' discount for me to get it.
It's 40€
It's going to feature an in-page streaming with gameplay/dev comments(?)
Potentially featuring an in-front page banner
And MAAAAAAAAAAAAAYBE a 10% launch discount

never used CDKeys before, but 30€ sounds like a good deal, thanks for the tip!

Im rarely "hyped" for games (or anything) anymore (thanks to years and years of bullshit E3 trailers and other things this industry has been doing), but I've been looking forward to Control hitting Steam. I'm still a bit annoyed Remedy signed a deal with Epic Publishing tho (despite apparently not being in on the moneyhatting deal for Control...)

Either way, I'll probably get it and play it once I'm done with HZD (and Death Stranding afterwards? not sure yet)

I'm alternating between cdkeys.com and the steam store for years now. There isn't even a deeper logic behind it.

Games I bought recently:

HZD (Steam)
DS (Steam)
Fall Guys (Steam)
Flight Sim (Steam - refunded)
Satisfactory (Steam)
P4G (Steam)
Surge 2 (Steam)

2x Avengers (CDkeys)
Control (CDkeys)

Thinking about it: I'm spending too much money on games! WAY too much.

My hype meter is rounding third base myself. Idk what of these peeps are doing.

The SCP foundation setting is perfect and amazing. I'm the head of the Jesse Defense Force Club and I accept playing at 900P on my PS4 Slim.

When does the PC2 release? I'm thinking it gets bumped to early spring 2021 myself.

I usually just go to gg.deals and see where the game is cheapest. That said, CDkeys is the only "reseller" I take into consideration. Usually, it means I buy from Steam, CDkeys, WinGameStore, Voidu or 2games. Less often from Gamesplanet and Gamebillet. WinGameStore is especially nice with their reward points, I already got like $15 by doing friend referrals, buying games and writing reviews.

On the one hand, dude is annoying as shit.

On the other hand, he clearly knows that the squeaky wheel gets the grease and he's been getting free advertising for himself everywhere.

There is always something new coming out and so they have trouble finalizing the specs. I swear every time I think they got it now, some company comes up with a better part. It's sooooo anyoing.
But I'm pretty sure RDNA 2 and Ampere are the final form GPUs will ever have so spring 2021 sounds about right.
Can't wait my 8086 is a bit outdated by now.

Hmmmm, sounding like the GPU on this would be at least $1500.

$2500 next gen confirmed??

For the base model, without Wi-Fi and a disc drive.
You also have to sit through amazon adds every time you start the PC 2.

The pro model will obviously be more expansive. But you can get a third job to pay for it. No problem.

people proclaim control to be the best raytracing game which has me interested but i have a question on it:

raytracing does look nice in games but when do we get to the point where it doesn't cut fps in half? some pretty lighting is ok but i'm not trying to play games in 40 fps.

if it matters the only raytracing game i've played is shadow of the tomb raider. it looks slightly better with it on but not good enough to make up for so much fps loss to me.

I never spent more than $350 equivalent on a GPU, and that's with 23% tax included. I could up my GPU budget to $400 max, not paying any higher no matter how good the price/performance ratio is.

A bit of explanation about the lack of Sinking City on digital platforms, the removal and what's going on, to make it short, as we all suspected, Bigben/Nacon really hurt them 😡

i upped my gpu budget to $400 for my current pc and got a 2070 super on sale so with a little bargain hunting that's a very reasonable price to cap yourself.

In order to stay awake for third job, I'd need an expensive supply of uppers. No overall income benefit there.

I'll just get an extra long networking cable and call it a bankruptcy.

I swear to the holy pixel, I'd better be able to see the ray traced reflections off eyeballs.....

I actually hasn't seen him shit on Steam for a long time, I've actually seen him praise Steam in the last few months.

There's also a recent Tweet from him about how Valve actually works to earn that 30% cut.

oops! yeah i'm going off american prices that don't have tax included either. i was just lucky to find a good black friday deal with $100 off and free shipping so i jumped on it. probably not as much of those random big price drop sales elsewhere.

Yeah, in Poland you're lucky to get $15 off on Black Friday. I really don't get why electronics never go on good sales here on top of often having shitty markups and keeping high price for a long time. You're more likely to see old, worse GPU being sold higher than a new, better one than see it discounted/price-dropped.

No idea, I can only tell you how DLSS and RTX act in control:

You get about the same performance with DLSS (high) + Ray Tracing as without Ray Tracing at native resolution.
DLSS (low) + Ray tracing will give you even better performance than at native resolution without Ray Tracing.

Control is a demanding game, with or without Ray Tracing. DLSS 2.0 is diminishing the performance lose you get because of Ray Tracing, while improving image quality in some way.
But DLSS can, of course, be used without Ray Tracing in the first place to give you even better performance.

How do I know? Because Control can easily fit on my portable USB drive and it came with my brothers GPU.

example:
4k native, no ray tracing = 43 fps
4k, DLSS high, Ray Tracing = 38 fps
4k, DLSS low, Ray Tracing = 56 fps

This corridor seems to be one of the most demanding areas in the game.

I was hyped for Control once. But now, I've waited this long, I'll wait until it gets on a decent sale. By then, I should hopefully have a new GPU as well for the sweet DLSS 2.0 + RayTracing experience.

And Tell Me Why releases on the same day, so... :cat-heart-blob:
Same... on both counts!

Control would've been a Day 1 purchase... a year ago. Now I'm over it, and it's in the Steam Sale Only pile.

Also, I can't believe we're getting a new DONTNOD game in 2 days. So excited!

interesting to see dlss having that big of an effect. guess i need to look into these technologies more but it comes to graphics stuff it doesn't take going very deep into the weeds before my eyes glaze over. i usually just set things to high and hope for the best 🤣

The WRC series, Vampire The Masquerade Swansong, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown and that upcoming Werewolf game are their main lineup for the coming months / years I guess.

Also, they are the ones publishing Handball and Rugby games plus some indies (Bee Simulator, Overpass) that should be coming to Steam this year after being egged.

People are surprised that Sony couldn't care less about indie games? Like, in what was probably the biggest generation for indie games we've had Steam festivals, Nintendo indie showcases and ID@XBOX presentations and not a single thing from Sony and now they're surprised?

I will agree with some of the people with those replies but at the same time not everyone is going to know that, which hurts potentially sales.

I guess that SIE just set up PSN to work in that one way where you don't find new things on PSN rather you learn about them else where and then go to PSN and buy them according to some comments and that's how it was for me with the PS Vita. Since the PSN Vita store was pretty bad and some stuff wouldn't even load at all.

Potentially things might change with the PS5 and with YosP at the head of Indies now but ya.

WTF [UWSL]:neutral-face:[/UWSL]
And only by pure coincidence we learned in February 2020 that the exclusivity contract with one of the storefronts was on the verge of being breached, when there was an attempt to release a pirate version of The Sinking City on a third-party pc-game subscription service. We were forced to step in and prevent this from happening.
