Gollum looks like some bollywood or similarly cheap edition of the films. Either do your own style or license them so you can make it on par, not like a knock off.

Fuck Fortnite indeed. As the Folding Ideas guy said, it is a store with a game attached to it.

It's much more than a store, it's a platform. The endgoal is not to sell you something is to provide an experience that you'll come back to over and over again and take advantage of familiarity and fomo to sell stuff. In that sense it intends to be like facebook or twitter rather than destiny or any other store mascarated as games.
It's quite disturbing to think how these kids currently playing will be used and weaponized in just a few years. The #freefortnite is just an appetizer...

PS: It might be naive of me but I still believe all of this is pubg's fault.

Been watching some Hades gameplay. It looks really good! I've been itching for another action game kind of like HLD, and I think Hades could scratch that itch. Seems like the gameplay is comparable in some ways. My only concern is that I don't really like Bastion or Transistor... I'll risk it and pick it up next time it gets a sale. Which is hopefully soon :poutblob:

Also, I played a little bit of Halo ODST for the first time. Big hmmmmmm. First impression was not good. That health system and red overlay upon taking damage was bumming me way out. It feels like you can take even less damage and it takes longer to recover health? The character movement is also kind of weird. Reminds me a bit of Reach in a way I can't quite articulate, but that's been my least favorite game in the series so far. I don't know if I'll get ODST when it comes out. Probably not.

Avengers looks so bad, at this point I'd rather get lower budget "fun" stuff with the heroes, like have Capcom make a Sengoku Basara style game or something.

I guess the success of the movies has made such projects less likely as to get the IP they probably have to pay more, so non AAA/gaas games don't return the investment? What a shame. Perhaps they can side step this by licensing comic books or something. Like Skydance's Saints & Sinners vs Survios' Onslaught?

Then again there are also some small company mobile crap with all kinds of seemignly prohibitively big IP for some random small developer or publisher so...

It's weird that the same company behind the films didn't do this. It's their IP (well, you know what I mean) to reuse as they wish. Probably to save money not paying Serksis or Jackson etc whom probably have some slice of the movie's visuals

EA games with achievements, that was unexpected.

Now I have a reason to buy them.

Can someone who has played Spiritfarer tell me how long the game takes to finish?
I can't tell how long it is because the Win Store doesn't know how to keep time, and I also haven't finished it yet. I'm quoting for visibility

I will say, I would not be surprised if this is a 30hr game. It has that feel. I feel like I have to be 15-20hrs into this, and it seems like there's still a ways to go.

I'm outing myself as a flithly plebe who cannot remember the last time he remembered that achievements existed. Are there dischievements? Bc I'd earn those. Like "Died 50 times" or "took 30 times to beat boss race".

Anyway, starting to get bright eyed and busy tailed for the final Control DLC/expansion, the aptly named 'AWE Expansion', this week on thrusday. Going to the library tonight to pick up the disc copy of the game I borrow. Really looking forward to there being even a hint of Alan Wake in my Control, even if I don't want him as a playable character in this game.

I need to stop waiting for a $40 1tb external HD and just pay the $55 with tax for one. The PS5 needs a 2TB drive minimum.

(BTW, AWE, Altered World Event AND Alan Wake Expansion, WE'RE SOOOO CLEVER, GIVE US THE BAFTA AWARD FOR SNEAKINESS)

tons of ea games on steam getting achievements

burnout battlefield etc dead space

I can finally buy some stuff now.

The lack of playtime tracking on WinStore is utter shit. Even EGS has it.

Well, the game pass/win store backend is utter shit in general, so maybe not that suprising.

Nice, now give us the opportunity to transfer games bought on Origins to Steam :)

Hope they add cloud saves for Burnout too :U

Really annoying when games don't have it.
Isn't it cloud through Origin though?
EDIT: Or do you mean cloud for the old game on Steam? Because that ain't happening, what you can do is download the game on Origin/verify the game files and upload them there.

2ND EDIT: It's so weird that The Sims 4 doesn't have achievements neither on Steam nor Origin, even though there are challenges in-game.

same here. i turned off steam overlay so i don't get achievement popups on pc anymore. i always forget they exist until i'm playing on xbox and get surprised by the xbox popups for achievements which seem to have gotten more elaborate over the years with music and animation fanfare lol

Ah hmh I thought it was mostly fun with people you know rather than randos? I was mostly looking forward to play with you MC peeps.
The only downside to playing with friends right now is that it can be hard to tell if someone is still in when you get to the elimination screen but if you're in chat you can always do what some friends I play with do and either say "in" or "out" after a round.

It's a game I can see myself coming back to for a long time. It's lighthearted and chaotic all at the same time and being able to help or hinder friends can make for some great laughs together.

For example I was so convinced it would be a great one for the co-op crew and my friends that I bought 6 copies of Fall Guys, 5 of which I gifted. And I'm so thankful that it has mostly delivered! :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Ah, the saves are synced through Origin? I did indeed mean the new remaster. I’ll have to poke around see if it does any backing up in Origin.

I like achievements, even Steam achievements, so I'm happy. I'll get Andromeda, Catalyst and Heat later on.

Post non-stop anime if old

But, but, but, user reviews are the spawn of Satan yadda yadda yadda...

Steam User Reviews is the most important feature the store has to offer me as a customer, so many times I just need to scroll over the reviews to decide to buy the game without knowing not much about it, and rarely this made me regret my purchase.
