Slightly time consuming if you only have a free Nexus account with limited download speed, but a 30 day pass is cheap so thats how I did it the last time the urge took me.

I think the only sizzle reel was for developers making their first console game, not for Game Pass titles (though there were a number of previously confirmed Game Pass titles in that reel, so I can understand the confusion)

I got to test out AMD's FSR on Chernobylite and it did a pretty good job. One important thing: It seems that FSR wants an anti-aliased image to work best. I turned it on with AA set to medium and the amount of shimmering made the game bordeline unplayable. With AA on Ultra and FSR set to ultra quality the image looked very close to native on my TV. It was certainly sharper than the engine's temporal upscaling.

What's funny about that pic is that after watching my brother work as a certified auto mechanic for close to 4 decades I totally get the appeal of tradesmen playing video games in their respective fields.
If you saw how dirty/greasy he gets. How much he wrestles with old, corroded & fused engine/transmission parts...The idea of a simple mouse-click cleanly removing & adding fresh new parts must feel like magic to him. Can't imagine how cathartic it is compared to the grueling real-world work he sees on the daily.
Might have a lot to do with the popularity of Farming Simulator with real-world farmers as well.
That's not so surprising as FSR is just about upscaling the image well, not removing any aliasing specifically. It seems though it's good at not introducing more aliasing than was in the image before.
Yeah it's a funny meme but I totally get the appeal. Many of these games are quite relaxing.

so only three "new" indies were announced for Game Pass (Evil Genius 2, Stardew Valley, and Pupparazzi), one of which has been out for months, and one of which has been out for years. it's so underwhelming (especially given the slew of indie XGP announcements at the last of these showcases) that I honestly wonder if they decided at the last minute to push some of it to Gamescom. oh well, they can't all be winners

They make something like RE4 feel so dated by comparison. I can't wait for Capcom to remake that one. It needs it so much more than Dead Space.

Still bummed out XSEED never ported this one. Once they started commissioning PC ports, I figured it was bound to happen sooner or later. Especially with the way they had been picking stuff up from Falcom's back catalogue.
I can't help but wonder if losing Ys and Trails to NISA pissed them off enough to make them stop dealing with Falcom altogether once they were done with the Zwei games.

I think Marvelous just want to go in a different direction after XSEED lost the bid for Cold Steel III. Falcom titles didn't exactly move a great number of units for a long time. I mean, I can probably count in one hand the number of people in this forum who has completed both Zwei or Xanadu Next. Maybe It could've gone differently if they picked up Tokyo Xanadu rather than doing other projects at that time, but the fact is most of the XSEED people who were passionate about Trails has either left the company or were sacked shortly after they lost the bid to CSIII, so the indication is quite clear.
