Look at all those positive reviews and not only that but just devs in general acknowledging the scores.


I think that the score went down for that game since it's now at 94% and 95% Is what you need for overwhelming positive (dang those 40 people)
Huh didn't know Ender Lilies was from a Japanese dev. Game is very good, absolutely deserved.

Also, I spoiled myself 12 minutes and I'm just happy I didn't spend any money on it.

Yeah they are a Japanese dev. They even had this it seems, I'm not too familiar with just how common it is for indies to do this, but seeing how they were able to get mili to help with the music I'm assuming that they are not very "small"

Does the PC version of the remaster still not use the original PC releases suit power wheel? I see the trailer completely skips over it, instead showing Nomad glow red for a second in that cutscene
The PC version of the remaster always had the classic nanosuit as an option. (It's a slightly different design with a diamond shape, seemingly modeled after the prototype Crysis 2 design) They also patched it into the PS4/XBO versions earlier this year. It's a teensy bit buggy (if you die in armour mode, there's a humming sound that will keep playing after you respawn). This may or may not get fixed in the next patch.



There's a laundry list of small details I'm hoping they'll fix. Mods can (and do) iron out some problems, but there's engine level stuff only Crytek can fix, and while they've made a promise to improve the PC version in particular as much as possible, they have made no promises regarding scope. Whatever work they're doing now is WAY outside the original scope of the project. It was meant to have six months of post-release patching, and that was it. We are at 11 months now, and they're still "working on it".

I quit 13 Sentinels yesterday. Not because it's a bad game, but it's a mixture of thinking that a PC version could be announced any day now and that I'd really like to use cheats (like speedhack) in certain parts of the game, both of those reducing my motivation and interest in playing it on PS.

Still, I feel the game might be too long, at least for me and a certain thing that annoys me, like there are 3 modes, Remembrance (story), Destruction (battles) and Mystery Files (story related files you lock up by doing well in battles), these have to sort of be played in a balance, in Remembrance you play the story for a lot of different characters and some of them you are not allowed to play until you have reached a certain point in played battles and and mystery files. Like, I finished the 1st area of battle waves yesterday and the game told me I could not continue until I have reached 30% story completion, so I played the story for 4 hours yesterday and story completion increased from 15% to 17% and that made me quit. To finish the game you need 100% in all 3 modes.

Basically, Vanillaware games are gorgeus, have nice gameplay and great story, but are too long and "complicated?" to progress in, making me only have finished Dragon's Crown out of their games (I also own Odin's Sphere Leiftfrasir). Putting the games on PC would allow me to mod certain aspect of the game would make the games much more fun and motivating to play.

And since I am currently not interested in playing Demon's and Returnal my PS5 will be dusting down for now.

Great. Started up my PC today and suddenly right earphone is not working. Tested on other devices - same thing. I thought that Japanese audio hardware was supposed to be premium quality, but it's a piece of shit that breaks easily, just like everything nowadays.

I read the Steam announcement. Seems neat. I'll be contributing today for sure :)

Also, I've been practicing my T-spins, and I've been able to set up a good number of doubles! Even when I'm taking my time to do them, they really pay off with how efficient they are. Until now, I didn't quite process the value of getting the same amount of points as a full Tetris in half the lines. Getting high ranks even when my clear time is super slow. I started occasionally recognizing situations in which I can use them in my more standard mode of playing as well, which is nice. Still pretty tricky in part because I've got a bad habit of only rotating pieces in one direction when I'm in a pinch. I'm having to slow myself down to more consciously rotate, but it'll pay off over time.

I realized I need to finally learn to do this thing in part because I hit 500 Tetris clears yesterday and then a little bit later got my 10 T-spin achievement, which was completely accidental too. A little unbalanced to say the least.... Meanwhile, I noticed Dinjoralo got the 100 T-spins achievement in like a fourth of my play time :fearful-face:

Wrapped up Tales of Vesperia.

Took 51hrs and had to clutch the last boss's 20k health with no life bottles and dead party.

Anyways it was a pretty good adventure rpg. Great cast of characters and combat system was kind of iffy but fighting bosses was a lot of fun + challenging/interesting. But yea regular enemies was kind of repetitive and boring for the most part. The hitbox detection was a bit off as you can't hit some of the enemies with most attacks when they are on the floor or falling to the floor. Meanwhile enemies most certainly fuck you up whenever they want. I think a little more balance/refinement in the physical attack side of things could have helped. The spells and magic side of the game was amazing. They really nailed most of it.

The story was all over the place but straightforward by the end. Some of the terms and world building flew over my head by the end as it dragged a bit much. That last act could have probably ended quicker. Also words like blastia, aer, antelexia, adephagos etc was becoming meme worthy like nanomachines in MGS4. The story was a bit safe and PG but still entertaining enough.

The amount of cities you explore and characters you meet was ambitious. As a whole it was a very impressive game for being in the PS3 era. I wasn't expecting that much tbh. I am even curious now if Zestiria and Berseria are similar in size/scope/quality. I will definitely be checking them out.

But yea really enjoyed all the characters especially Yuri, Rita and Patty. This may just be one of the strongest cast of characters in a jrpg that I played. Everyone was funny and important in the grand scheme of things. The writing was excellent. The little interactions among the cast and motivations added a lot to everything. I will say Flynn however was kind of a pointless character and really just bounced in n out of your party. They needed to do more with him. I don't think the game would miss much if he wasn't in it.

Overall a quality game. I wouldn't quite put it in that 5 star JRPG tier like some of the Dragon Quest and Persona games. For sure its more in the 4 star tier like the Final Fantasy titles.

I had to look at a guide for Twelve Minutes. Thankfully, I managed to avoid any spoiler by reading the start of the guide until the point where I was stuck.

Funnily, I cannot upvote the guide on Steam, because I don't own the game on Steam. However, I can give a Steam award to the guide writer.

Game Pass doesn't prevent releases on other platforms. It also solves other accessibility issues. ¯\(ツ)
That's good and I agreed. Still, the lack of full on mod support makes game pass the epitome of what PC gaming is not.

Also, the lack of windows store trainers. Still, that's up to cheat creators like Fling, but it still sad.

Im also curious, what other accessbility issues does game pass solve?

I have seen some windows store trainers so I always thought the lack of trainers were that the people creating them don't care about windows store games.

I haven’t got around to trying it yet (it’ll be the next game I play after I beat chaos child) but 12 minutes is starting to sound like a right pain from many of the impressions I see

It's interesting to hear critics vocalize many of the same issues I had with Outer Wilds when talking about 12 Minutes. My takeaway is that it is a more problematic point of friction in 12 Minutes compared to Outer Wilds? But at least 12 Minutes is just twelve minutes, rather than OW's 20... In any case, based on my experience with OW, I should definitely avoid it because I will most assuredly quit in frustration.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I agree with many things you said. It is a shame that the jargons are fairly easy to understand in Japanese but somehow they complicated them in the localization.

Regarding Flynn, being a playable character he is fairly barebone compared with others, but I can't agree with the sentiment that he is not important.

I think he is the opposite side of the same coin as Yuri. Both of them were soldiers before the game (there is a prequel short anime), but Yuri decided to leave whereas Flynn decided to stay. He is idealistic and tried to make changes within the system, while Yuri decided that the system is rotten so he can't protect people within it, thus leading to him becoming a vigilante mid-way to the story. I would say the writer did not go in-depth enough to show the contrast, but I enjoyed their clash and contrast during some scenes.

Edit: Forgot to mention. I also like the twist of Raven. Who doesn't love spy!

  • hundreds of recent and positively rated games, usually on release day,
  • including a free option for cloud gaming,
  • edit: plus, an access to console exclusives.
makes these games more accessible to many people.

For instance, I have tried most of these games thanks to GamePass, and would have never been able to pay for these on Steam, even on sales:



It is so ridiculous! If I play all of these on GamePass despite great games in my huge Steam backlog, imagine what this means for people who discover gaming.

I tried playing the game yesterday but didn't enjoy it, today i woke up to some people on twitter shitting on the games twist, so literally just finished watching a playthrough of the game and in a rarely good resetera post, this one perfectly sums up the game:

Well the article wasn't talking about a service providing a lot of games, but the technological side of of PC gaming that involves modding.

And remember, tons of countries in the world does not have game pass, it's only a bunch of, mainly, first world countries. Not quite accessible if you ask me.

Btw, why would you never have been able to pay for those games on Steam sales?

At least I am currently in backlog mode and have been ignoring all discounts and new games. Maybe I will pick up something during Autumn sales, but not too sure on that now.

And now that Im working full time I will need to be picky with my gaming time, not playing games Im somewhat interested in just because they are on game pass, so rather buy games Im really interested and take my time with them.

Yeah. A few days ago I made a "completed" category to put all games I've finished there. Lets just say that the result was... underwhelming, to say the least. I really didn't realize how few games I played to the end. Granted, there are a ton of pre-digital games that I have boxed copies of that I've finished and there are also games I have on other launchers (mainly Uplay and Origin) that I played to the end, but it's still a really low number compared to how many games I own. I play a ton of multiplayer games with my friends though, so I guess it can't be helped. It's not like I dick around on PC doing nothing instead of playing games.

Playing the Effect mode games that are marked as part of the weekend event will give you new avatars (or rather a high likelihood to get them). Currently, it's all of the "focus" games, like All Clear for example.

If we talk about GamePass alone:
  • add all of these games with a historical low of 10€ at best, or recent games like Humankind for 50 €,
  • that is a ton of money which I cannot afford to spend.
If we add xCloud to the equation:
  • I would need to upgrade my PC to play some of these games at 1080p 60fps at best, or at least above minimum requirements,
  • that is a ton of money which I cannot afford to spend.
Sure, GamePass won't solve all the problems in the world, but it tangibly makes all of these games accessible to me.

That being said, I am not trying to convince you to do as I do, because I know we have different perspectives on these things (sense of ownership, budget, anxiety regarding retired games, etc.). I am just grateful that Microsoft lowers the cost to play recent games this much. I guess it won't last, but it is amazing as long as it lasts. :blobthief:




When I look at my spendings from January to August:
  • ~ 25 € for Geforce Now from January to end of April,
  • ~ 1 € for Game Pass Ultimate (including xCloud) from mid-June to mid-September,
  • ~ 40 € for It Takes Two,
  • ~ 20 € for other purchases of games (mostly Group Buys).
I only paid for GFN to be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 with RTX on. xCloud is a very decent and cost-effective replacement of Geforce Now.
Plus, when you compare costs to play games on day-1, GP is utterly ridiculous. I feel like I am robbing the bank. :blobthief:

These days Im also curious when MS will increase game pass price.

Im also curious to what game pass users will do with the Steam Deck. Despite it probably being somewhat easy, I expect it to be a minority of people who will bother with windows on that thing.
