Axiom Verge 2

You may have played Axiom Verge, or heard it referenced as a benchmark for indie action-exploration games. This long awaited sequel expands on the universe with completely new characters, abilities, and gameplay.

Indra, the billionaire behind the worldwide Globe 3 conglomerate, heads to Antarctica to investigate the disappearance of her daughter, but ultimately finds herself in an entirely different reality, infected by parasitic machines that both aid and confound her. Where is she? Who is the mysterious person goading her from the other end of the computer terminal?

Explore an alternate Earth-like world, replete with the ruins of an ancient, high-tech civilization. Hack machines. Battle monsters. Use your remote drone to enter the Breach, a parallel but connected reality that is filled with its own dangers. You’ll want to search every inch for the hidden items and upgrades you need to survive.

Midnight Fight Express

An unexpected hero emerges on the city's darkest night.

You’re Babyface, a former member of the criminal underworld lured back into “the life” by a mysterious AI drone. Your mission against impossible odds: Fight your way across the city before sunrise, and prevent a citywide criminal takeover together.

Engage in a brutal and hyper-kinetic brawling ballet, using every environmental tool and street fighting technique at your disposal. Level up your abilities to take down the mounting onslaught of bozos, cronies, and crime lords.

South of the Circle

South of the Circle is an emotional narrative experience with a deep multi-layered cinematic story. The main plot asks questions about the consequences of life choices, of pursuing either career or true love, manoeuvring between now and the past. You play Peter, a Cambridge academic who crashlands in Cold War Antarctica. As he searches for help, his past unwinds before him, revealing how the pressures of power and his own aspirations have led him into this crisis he must somehow escape. A love story between him and fellow academic Clara develops, and Peter learns the weight of all the things he has promised. Like memories from childhood, some promises stay with us forever.

this will be updated next week once I have access to the visual asset, game was already chosen.

Thanks for the new thread, Mor! Great month. So many potentially good games in the horizon. Midnight Fight Express looks like a fun game.

Spiderman is surprisingly cheap here but I am not picking it up on day 1. Still haven't grabbed any Sony games actually because I want to wait till some good discounts. ;)

Is it me or Vampire Survivors performs a bit worse now.
I'm getting some pretty noticeable lag in the last 2-4 minutes of a game. Played 3 rounds yesterday and felt it every time. I know there's an experimental fix launch option but I've never tried it.

Also the thread didn't mention Gloomwood is releasing in early access in a couple of weeks. Boo for missing it.

August already huh. Begun the dog days of Summer have. 😓 It's already been so brutal.

Stay cool everyone. Unless you're below the equator, in that case, stay warm. (And mail me your snow!)
Don't worry, at least in Brazil we aren't having any issues getting warm:

We just had a ridiculous hot July here, and seems that August will be the same if not worse. Of course, no signs of rain either so the air quality is really awful too.

Hope folks in the other parts of the southern hemisphere are having a better time than us because I'm demolished.

Counting down the days for Soul Hackers 2.
I still can't fully grasp the idea that Soul Hackers is getting a sequel AND it's getting a day 1 release on steam.
A few years ago this would've been the most preposterous thing anyone could possibly come up with.

YO DEULYST 2??? My card game habits aren't ready!

Also thanks Mor for the awesome thread.

I've been playing Dragon's Dogma for some reason recently after getting through the FF7R DLC. Man this game has good ideas, but I think it mostly makes me excited for a Dragons Dogma 2.

Thanks for the new thread Mor !

What a packed month August is! SD Gundam and Soul Hackers is definitely Day 1 but probably won't be able to start playing until I'm done with Digimon Survive :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Still not sure about Spiderman with it's current price and the lack of launch discount on other stores. :disappointed-face:

Happy August everyone!

Thank you for the thread Mor!

Definitely going to support day 1 PC release for Soul Hackers 2. Never thought it would get a sequel let alone PC release.

I also plan on getting Spiderman. Not a fan of suoer hero stuff in general, but want to see what all the hubbub is about. Would prefer Miles Morales more though.

Otherwise Cult of the Lamb seems fun for the few moments I tried the demo and watched some gameplay.

Also curious about the rerelease of La Pucelle and Rhapsody at the end of August. Two games I never played.

Had not heard of South of the Circle from that list of games, definitely going on the wishlist.

Cheers for the new thread Mor .

I still have a backlog of games from the last few months to clear so probably a quiet month. Although Soul Hackers does interest me.
As for Spider-Man, I think I will wait for Miles Morales to get released. Played the main one on PS4. Got about 15 hours in and got distracted. Never went back. So that can wait for a sale.

Uh, on paper for me it will be Spidey and Soul Hackers in a keyshop, with maybe a side dish of being daylight robbed on some Soul Hackers DLC.

Cult of The Lamb looks nice but I’m still unsure about the difficulty and the liteness of the rogue-lite elements. Why, yes, the demo was too small for my old eyes on the Deck and I got sent back to the start, hence the uncertainty.

But I also have plans for a full upgrade of the PC ! And food prices keep skyrocketing ! And we should definitely move and the landlord will certainly keep our ‘caution’. There is no way I pay to repair his aging turd of an apartment.

So several things will have to give and I fear I will have to wait for January 2023 :loudly-crying-face:

Thanks Mor for the new topic

Edit: I had a youtube video linked of some dystopian pay to win shit related to Diablo. A guy wasting 100k on the game and getting angry. To not give the guy more exposure I have deleted the link. Instead have a picture of an angry cat.

This is just disgusting pay to win crap. Wasting 100k on a shitty video game and then complaining that the game is boring.
Then don't advertise his video.
I have nothing against this person, but he is clearly, at least I hope, putting the money he earns from streaming shit abusive games into shit abusive games in order to make a video on you know what and earn some more from, well the same.
He is nothing. Let's hope that the game is not a win for Activision and let's forget it.

I don't mean it against you, it's just that maybe there is a time when all is said and done and we are all collectively looking at a pit of shit. And some people are only too glad to profit from our fascination by making bank on this.

I understand the principle and not wanting the practices to generalize, though. What I mean is that he is part of the system, not worth of our attention.
