ScourgeBringer looks really slick. They sponsored some yt vids and it actually got me interested in it. It's a super mobile/fast paced rogue-lite with guns and melee. It seems like one of those games where you can really get in the zone, countering and hopping from enemy to enemy. It has permanent upgrade progression like Hades, Rogue Legacy, and games like that. It's also launching on Game Pass for those with some of that remaining.

LAUNCH DISCOUNT: Dead Cells owners will receive an additional -10% discount upon adding ScourgeBringer to their cart (offer available until Feb 13, 2020).

That's also interesting.

I just pre-ordered the Animal Crossing Switch.

Never played an Animal Crossing before but I bought Stardew in the recent Humble Bundle. First I didn't really get the appeal just doing busy work and then it suddenly clicked. Now I can't stop playing so I keep telling myself "just one more day" and suddenly 4 hours have passed :shlooter:. There's so much to do it's crazy how it was just a single dev working on this.

Maybe after I finish Stardew, which could be years from now, I'll be getting Animal Crossing as well.

That's strange, the first screenshot clearly runs at lower resolution. Did you restart after changing the settings?
(Resolution changes and supersampling changes require a restart to apply)

Yeah i did restart, but still looked like it ran at lower resolution. But it's working fine now, changing res/ss around and it's working fine, so it's all good now. I didn't play Ys Viii before the last big patch, but i played a bit over 5 hours so far, and it looks and runs great!

I'm REALLY REALLY tempted but i might have to just settle for the PowerA AC Controller instead. I can't really justify to myself buying another Switch even if it is fricking sweet. Curse you Tom Nook!

That AC switch looks pretty sweet, and i usually don't like most themed consoles.

I will probably end up just buying the game though!

the magical powah of teh cloud
“When you talk about Nintendo and Sony, we have a ton of respect for them, but we see Amazon and Google as the main competitors going forward,” says Spencer. “That’s not to disrespect Nintendo and Sony, but the traditional gaming companies are somewhat out of position. I guess they could try to re-create Azure, but we’ve invested tens of billions of dollars in cloud over the years.”

“I don’t want to be in a fight over format wars with those guys while Amazon and Google are focusing on how to get gaming to 7 billion people around the world,” says Spencer in the Protocol interview. “Ultimately, that’s the goal.”

Cyber Knights Steam page is up.

Holy hell am I getting hyped. And it's WAY too early to get hyped.

I got in on the $25 'Soundtrack Edition' tier on their Kickstarter page, but now I'm wondering if I should just go balls-out and go for the $60 'Alpha Team' tier. Which I'm assuming gives you pre-Steam alpha build access. Hmmm...I'll have to verify this supposition.

ScourgeBringer you say?

Is this the day where everyone posts about developers who either antagonized and ridiculed their potential customers, or went on full on "Steam is bad", or "Steam is killing indie developers"? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Please don't misunderstand me, Nabs, it's nothing against you or your post. ;)
I'm just finding it funny that today, pretty much every game people talk about is by developers who did or said "crappy" stuff.

I've been using Firefox exclusively for browsing for almost 2 decades (well, it wasn't always called Firefox in that time period) and I think I had issues with three specific release versions, for about 2 days each, in that time period.
Which is not to say that there can't be issues, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with it.

I dunno, I'm having a bad experience and I remember already dropping it a few years ago for the same reasons. I closed it and opened the exact same sites on chrome and it's much better. Pages wouldn't load and eventually the browser just crashed. It has been very slow for me with constant freezes.

It's what I thought, but Deku deals didn't give me the same price. I didn't think about the possibility of an old purchase.
Good price.

I'm always ready to forgive and forget, if people were just saying dumb things, that weren't hateful or discriminating, if the person in question just owns up to it.

Those are not your buddies that said or did something stupid. those are corporations and single developers who will say anything to make money. Who will be back to insulting us again if they squeezed enough out of us.

I don't see small indie devs as equivalent to giant faceless corporations. Especially a single indie dev is just that, a person with all the flaws and imperfections that make us human. It's just feeble ramblings, and yeah he seems pretty dumb in those tweets, but why would I not forget it if that same person owns up to having said some dumb things once?

He is still in the excusing business to take your money. There are thousand other single-devs who deserve our money more.
And especially not coffee stain whose ceo has a salary of millions.

So I just played Overwatch through Geforce NOW here on my workplace with crap internet and the shit works, there is noticible latency, but its playable, and I'm on Brazil playing on a US based server, shit is amazing.

I was talking mostly about Andrew here, but I feel the same holds for Coffee Stain as well. If they actually admit to having said dumb things, then I wouldn't really hold it against them. I can't speak about the games here, Coffee Stain doesn't make games that seem interesting to me anyway.

I just pre-ordered the Animal Crossing Switch.

Do you also actually hate playing AC? Because that's me and I preordered the thing too for those nice, fresh colors. In my defense a German retailer did an oopsie and a ~20% discount got applied erroneously so if I sell the game key and my old Switch it should be a free.... Switch switch. Wouldn't have done it if a completely new version was coming but apparently that's not happening this year.

Have any of those who jumped in Timmy's bed and talked shit done that though?

And where do you take what coffee stain says serious and not just another quip of their twitter persona? They could say "I am sorry" or "You are idiots" and it wouldn't matter the slightest. "they are so silly, lol"

I'm not sure, but I doubt it. But whether it occurs often wasn't my point, really.

Corporate attempts at humour tend to be so painfully awkward that I don't really give that stuff attention anyway. And yeah, outright blaming customers is a pretty good way of telling me a company doesn't want my money.
Sure, if we would live in a world where people (mind you, I'm not talking about giant corporations here, as I said above), would easily say "i'm sorry" then yeah, could be an issue. In my experience, though, it's pretty rare for that to happen, and if it does, I tend to take it seriously. of course, if the same person then does the thing again, yeah, that changes things. Hardly any credibility left then.

I kind of understand how devs might feel when drastic changes are made on the platform that will eventually pay the bills. Valve also keeps things so quiet, it must be scary when something like an algorithm change happens over night.

When I get scared I immediately go out and attack shit I know less about than I should (because it effectively allows me to eat) just to prove I am a pointless prick.

no i don't do that

I don't boycott companies unless they are Nestle levels of evil.

Developers blaming fans on twitter is shitty, but not worth passing up on a game that I'm very interested in.

I feel like Red Dead Redemption has been on sale more than it hasn't.

2 hrs until the Cook, Serve, Delicious 3 launch discount goes away. I'm knee deep in CSD2 right now, so I don't know if it's smart to pick it up just yet. We shall see.

I hope Animal Crossing get's added to eShop EU coupons so I can buy a set of coupons and get AC and Sword.

Ah so this is the version that will come to PC.

:suicide-blob:

Yes, please. If it's coming to Steam
I'm sure it just a matter of time that KH gets announced for PC, be patient, """exclusivity""" year is almost done for the story so far pack (as a matter of fact, 50 days left) so yeah, watch it being announced all the sudden and shadowdrop released ^^

Great additions and so happy to see Youngblood. Its another one of those games like Rage 2 which had such poor steam reviews I don't think I would ever buy it. But messing around with it on gamepass is perfect alternative.

Also they really gonna go with the newest FF game first? Weird. I hope they don't take too to get 9 out. That is the one I want.

Looks like EA is preparing for EA Access coming to Steam by doubling prices of almost all games in EU and other regions.
(The Sims 3 got halfed tho and expansions got mix of halfed or upped in price by 33%+)

These folks get it. No idea what games they made, but this almost makes me wanna buy them.

I bought the Special Edition on sale a while ago, and now the Ultimate Edition is cheaper than that. And I haven't even downloaded the game yet
