I can't remember if any of you are fans of Creeper World...

In any case, here's a new dev video update about CW4!

The big deal here is the transition to 3D... CW1 and CW3 (top-down 2D games) were pretty bad in telling you how much creeper (aka "blue goo") was on a given tile. You had to hover the mouse on a spot and look at a depth meter gauge...

That doesn't really mean much as it can easily be their engine's level/terrain editor and not indicative of any gameplay. Which isn't to say it's not Iso, it more than likely is but this doesn't necessarily clinch that.
i dont see the way how it looks in that pic really working in "bioware-ish" 3D (tools for that usually look bit different ) ...., but hey lets needlesly panic :face-with-rolling-eyes:

As I said, it more than likely (read: almost certainly) is isometric (or some hybrid) because that's what Larian has become known for with their 2 most recent RPG's so it would be somewhat odd to go from 2 very successful IsoCRPG's to taking a traditionally IsoCRPG series and making the next game a third person, behind the shoulder (or back) RPG. I also said further up that I couldn't care less either way, I have no preference - It's just that, that screenshot doesn't really prove anything is all.

It's definitely a view from Cockatrice Camera. The lovable Cockatrice is controllable as part of the find the collectable lootbox mini game. Keys to open the boxes available at a reasonable cost in the Larian Store.

Man I tried Slay the Spire's new character the other day and it was crazy. Very combo based with Stances and gaining bonuses for switching between them or staying in one and then comboing to another. Lots of possibilities there.

I didn't even get to the 3rd act lol.

OMFG! How difficult can they make it to redeem an Origin key bought on Fanatical?
Answer, stupidly fucking difficult!
I'm logged in on Origin, Edge & Firefox and none of the browsers can be seen or will let me login from the Sign-in box Fanatical pops up.

Edit: Done and done. Thank fek for that.

PCGamer's headline is a bunch of shit:

They are not leaving Steam, they are just exploring alternative ways to distribute their content outside of Steam. Game Pass (games are still on Steam), the monhly sub that gives players access to all DLC for games (games and DLC also on Steam), Survive the Aftermath (Epic exclusive for 1 year).

Now whether to get that Humble Bundle or not.
Slay the Spire is basically the only one I really want (and that would be worth it tbh), but I'm still not sure if I'm going to like it.
I like card games, but mostly dislike rogue-likes.
:precure_hana_think:

I'll probably end up getting it though, since it has a bunch of other games that are on my wishlist that are in mostly "not sure if I'll ever play them, but it's cool that I have them if I wanted to" territory...
(Though I remember saying this exact thing when it was in the Monthly, and I did not end up getting it lol)

I'm a self-described, Mr. Indie who generally sneers at big AAA productions...and the semi-recent critical darlings Slay the Spire and Into the Breach both failed to grab me. Like at all.

Guess it's time to start playing annual Madden & CoD exclusively from now on. :p

That's from Blackbird Interactive, who's last title was the killer Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.

Color my SUPER (Day One) interested.

Re: BGiii Honestly, I really don't care. I just want a Larian passion project full of heart and soul and a touch of jank.
... and from the theatrics in the videos so far it seems like they're having fun so i'm interested in this first glimpse of what they have to show at this early stage on the 27th.

This is such a high-profile, nostalgia-fest of a series for many, many people that they have no chance of pleasing everyone anyway.
I kind of view it as I'd rather it be a team that's passionate about it like you said (Larian pitched to Wizards like a decade + ago to try to do a sequel) and they've subsequently only gotten better at doing games as a studio.

I'm more of a I'm just happy it's going to get made at all and hopefully be made in the similar gameplay style.

I don't really want to have it be like syndicate reboot and EA

Over the past few days I finished A Plague Tale: Innocence (before my cheapo game pass expires). It's a decent enough game but leaves some stuff unexplained that it felt like it was going to explain, and the attempt at being very tense / narrative is sometimes ruined by their insistence on it being a 3rd person stealth game. Some of the most intense moments were turned into kinda "whatever" ones because oh hey you didn't know what to do in time and died, now restart! The checkpoints are fine but having tense narrative moments reset by dying even once just kills them. It's (one of) the reasons games moved away from QTEs again.

I still think it's very well crafted and a good game over all, I just think they should have more cleanly separated the narrative moments from the game.

I started up Quarantine Circular but had to stop after 10 minutes because the camera was giving me brutal motion sickness. I didn't even get sick the few times I've been on actual boats, or playing some VR games like AirCar. Not sure how they managed to do that but there's currently no way to disable it so I might just have to refund.

It's a much clickbatier headline than "Paradox isn't doing anything different this year, has always had multiple distribution routes',. I'm sad I even clicked the link to see just how indepth they went. barely surface level. I mean, Gamersgate (the store) started out as Paradox's own distribution platform until they spun it off. Literally nothing to see in that article.

Not liking that rising gem price. Bought a few hundred sacks just to be safe for a few weeks.

You did good. I had ~70 buy orders for 0.31€ each. The day after, I cancelled them and bid for 0.32€ each. I feel like tomorrow, I will have to go for 0.34€ each if I am lucky, or maybe straight for 0.35€ each if I am smart.

We are about to see less than 60k sacks for sale. The wait till the summer sales will be remembered as the Great Gem Drought of 2020.

Devs and pubs share a part of the blame of stupid news articles and hot-takes. They could easily make either a statement on their website that article xyz is bullshit, misinterpreted, or poorly researched, or have the gaming website post a correction or take the article down.

But they don't.
Because they don't care.
A website is spouting nonsense like "company xyz is abandoning steam" and the company just doesn't care that their customers are confused or feel abandoned.

Damn that looks good. I'm guessing no Homeworld license because they aren't working with gearbox, right? (though at least the name might make people realize it's the same people)

yeah, probably ... also - if they were still working with gearbox, it wouldn't be a steam release ;)

Soon? Edit: PAX East starts on Feb 27. Apparently, there will be a Steam sale.

Yeah, also probably the thematic page with all the floor projects and some unnanounced ones.

seems like timmy got another winner
it's literally Mutant Year Zero, except without the interesting character design, worthy cause for the protagonists or any creative spark. Maybe the "real" story unlocks later, but in the first missions, you are just slaughtering people, who are given lines specifically to make them likeable, while your troop are just cyberzombies following the chips in their brains.

Seems like the only way to grab SiN Episodes: Emergence is through amazon. Physical box but comes with a steam key from the looks of it.

I didn't realize it was on steam. Would've bought it if I had known.
