I picked up Emergence so I could have OG SiN on Steam. I'm glad they never removed that from the package.

Also, rip Steam and all that great Tuesday stuff.

I can't wait. A small update in the grand scheme of things, but huge for immersion.

I said damn.

Any world projected integration?

IMPORTANT UPDATES TO GRAND THEFT AUTO IV AND EPISODES FROM LIBERTY CITY
We are making a number of changes to make sure players who own Grand Theft Auto IV and GTA: Episodes from Liberty City can continue to enjoy these games.

New Players
Starting 03/19/2020, Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition will replace both Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City wherever it is currently digitally available. Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition will as also be available via the Rockstar Games Launcher.
Current game save files will be compatible with Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition.

As a result of this update the following services will no longer be available in Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition:
  • Games for Windows Live
  • Multiplayer mode
  • Leaderboards

The following Radio Stations will be temporarily unavailable in Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
  • RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM, and Vice City FM (previously available in Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City)

Note: Because Japanese is a supported language for Grand Theft Auto IV, but is not supported for Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, players will continue to be able to play Grand Theft Auto IV with Japanese sub-titles but will need to select another language in order to play Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City.

Current Players
Players who have previously installed and played Grand Theft Auto IV or Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will be able to update their copy to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition through the following means:

Steam Users
Depending on the game, players on Steam will need to install or update their current game:
  • Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will be removed and replaced with GTAIV: Complete Edition in the launcher library. Update file size is expected to be approximately 22GB
  • Grand Theft Auto IV owners will download content from Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City and their game will update to GTAIV: Complete Edition. Update file size is expected to be approximately 6GB
Physical Media
  • Games not previously activated using Games for Windows Live will be able to use the Key on the back of the game manual to activate and update to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
Games for Windows Live Digital Store Purchases
  • Games previously activated using Games for Windows Live will require players to create and/or link their Social Club accounts in replacement of Games for Windows Live to update to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition

Note: New activations from players trying to install current copies of Grand Theft Auto IV may be disrupted until Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition is available. All users will need to be connected to the internet and authenticate their copy of the game.

Oh shit, I don't think I had the DLC, does that mean I got it for free?

NVM I did own it and just completely forgot, lol.

Oh. Nightdive has the OG SiN now.

I wonder what that means.
What I wouldn't give for a team to form from Ritual vets that make tongue in cheek 3rd and 1st person action games and/or LevelLord to work with them.

Sin Ep1 was really good, alas twas not to be

Embracer (THQ Nordic) has bought Saber Interactive (World War Z, NBA Playgrounds, etc)

Embracer Group acquires Saber Interactive – initial consideration USD 150 million

Embracer Group enters into an agreement to acquire the assets of US-based Saber Interactive. Saber Interactive is a leading game developer and publisher with more than 600 employees across six offices. During 2019 Saber Interactive realised approximately USD 105 million of revenues and USD 62 million of EBIT.1 The purchase price includes an initial consideration of USD 150 million, plus an earn-out consideration, subject to fulfilment of agreed milestones, of a maximum USD 375 million. Post closing, Saber Interactive will become Embracer Group’s fifth operating group and Saber Interactive’s co-founders and owners, Matthew Karch and Andrey Iones, will jointly become Embracer Group’s second largest shareholder.

damn reading the document surprised to see that Saber was so big .... seems like they will become separate entity like Coffee Stain outside of the Nordic / Deep Silver subcompanies.
Makes me kinda feel sad for Milestone and Warhorse as these 2 were put under incompetent bastards at Deep Silver unlike all the other acquisitions

After the Barcelona studio is established, THQ Nordic will assess what players liked and what they want to be different from Gothic Playable Teaser. One of the most common examples was for a “grittier and less colorful world.”
Hopefully they listen to the feedback.
I didn't actually play the demo but from the footage I saw, the fact that the protagonist won't shut up and his dialog/voice acting being terrible bothered me more than the art or graphics.

Year 5 lads. Year 5 of the best new MP game this gen.

Crazy turn-around story for this game, and now it's among the best leading the way in E-sports events.

Congrats Ubi. Much as I currently rail against them for the Steam/Epic stuff, props to the dev teams. 👍

Oh yes! It bums me out that Ritual went under. Heavy Metal FAKK2 is among those games I would really REALLY like to see on Steam/GOG. And I really liked SiN Episode 1, played it a couple years ago. A shame that no others were released, indeed.

GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City still shows up like that in my Steam library. Guess the change hasn't been rolled out yet!
In the patch note it says this will roll out on March 19. I'm really glad they are finally ditching GfWL. Unbelievable it was a requirement for GTV4 for SO long. Just shows how little Rockstar really cares about PC.

I was going to say that this sounded remarkably like Hardware, the game they had in mind before GBX showed up with the IP and made it into DoK. I love the idea of going into their vision of these massive ships and industrial designs from a first-person view. If there's one thing they've always had since Homeworld, it was a love of these things, of big machinery and spaceships.

Hopelessly excited for this, unreasonably so.

Of course, and in a way perhaps it's a good thing to be "free" of the HW IP held by Epic's best friend given the creative block it gave them on 3.
yeah, absolutely ... you can be 100% sure that if they were still using the Homeworld IP for this game - it would've been egsclusive

Pretty sure, yes... And I hate that these kind of pettiness is affecting one of the IPs I love most.

That being said I'm kind of glad they aren't doing a HW game. Since 2 and the shift toward the space-magic of the three hyperspace cores, I get the feeling they lost that Homeworld feel of a simple story, amazing atmosphere/ore and gorgeous, functional spaceships. It seems to be a return to that in some limited way and it's a very good sign.
