I wonder if someone somewhere at S-E actually read and acted on feedback (regarding the FF pixel releases).
What sucks is it's all tied together, you can't turn off elements individually. Really hope a mod will fix this because I'd love to play with the new models, character art and soundtrack but with the old pixelated font and backgrounds. That filtering on the backgrounds in particular doesn't look great to me.
If anyone is interested in going blind avoid the Eurogamer coverage, it has a lot of spoilers.
Buying this exclusively because John from DF likes it a lot.
The DF guys raving over Nightdive's Shadowman is what got me to pick it up. They weren't wrong either. Really well done remaster.
I'll never be able to see this title without thinking of Iron Maiden.

Quickly played through a couple of levels already, seems really solid so far.
Exhumed was the first FPS I ever beat back on the Sega Saturn, very happy to finally see this version back again.

I'm excited to see the concurrent player count this weekend. A million should be doable and I could see the game being the second highest ever on Steam.

I'm excited to see the concurrent player count this weekend. A million should be doable and I could see the game being the second highest ever on Steam.
I played the first few levels, they mostly seem based on the Saturn version (yay!) so it'll feel different to folks that have experience with the previous Powerslave EX. Also for those don't like the new look, there are lighting options that coupled with CRT filtering make it grainy/faithful as it was:
I'd also switch to the classic map view and there are things that make it scream mobile game or something, giant key prompts and showing the account name on some screens for no reason. I did encounter one graphical error and the behaviour of some enemies like the eagles seems a bit off.
I think the high jump physics feel a little bit off here, though it could be how it was already and it's not really an issue (and we'll get the slow fall skill soon enough, not to mention the permanent floating). Getting out of the water is a bit finicky at times. And I'm not entirely sure but the traps in this room seem to fire in weird directions, I don't think they should be able to hit this wall or go where the far shot has gone? Or are they firing diagonally and bouncing off the walls?
There's also an issue with the skyboxes, it's not really the port's fault but some of them only have visuals like clouds at the lower part then just flat color for the rest and it can be a very obvious line when you're mouselooking around constantly/freely when in the original console versions you'd mostly play while looking straight ahead like Doom, with similar vertical auto aim, and only rarely have the need to press the button to enable pitching and mostly to look down to gauge jumps or similar at that. Edit: setting fov to the lowest mitigates this a bit as you view less/mouselook more to see the edges. I also fired up the Saturn version and saw that enemy and prop placement is very different here. There's no enemy at the very first door and only one spider in the next room on Saturn. There are also no bomb props in that room by the elevator. Also different enemy placement (on normal so presumably meant to be as on console) in the second level (Karnak) where on Saturn there are spiders and eagles early on and also no need for a key for the first exit where here on PC you need a key you find after the first switch and there are more Set type enemies and no eagles. So I guess things like that are from the PlayStation? But their layout and geometry thankfully seems to be like the Saturn (again, yay). There are hopefully no jarring differences in terms of keys and routes that don't feel as natural since they do differ.

Still need to drop the price by at least 50%, though it's a improvement.
Lost Ark doesnt work on Proton yet because the devs decided to not enable EAC for Linux
although given what Sweeney recently said about his lack of confidence in EAC being effective on LInux due to it being configurable ... maybe other devs think alike? And maybe there is something to it, I wouldnt know. It strikes me as odd to think that someone could tweak the Linux kernel to their own liking and bypass anti-cheat that way. Sounds like a lot of work. Also sounds like the good old "only proprietary software is good and secure" thinking. :/

As I mentioned in this post, I had some hardware weirdness going on. But as a result, I played some VR again today, after a long break. Two things: I have no idea what I was doing in HL Alyx, its really the "picking up a game after a long break" effect where youre basically stuck until you get your bearings again.
Also, Hitman 3 is really crap in VR. I tried all the locations and they all looked bad: low-res/blurry - and its not the Rift S, since Alyx looks a LOT better by comparison. I hope ioi will tweak that because the locations of the Hitman games are all gorgeous.
The gameplay itself is wonky too but I didnt really wanna "play" them anyway, I just wanted to sightsee. But even that was bad. Just the controls alone were garbage. No teleportation, just locomotion, so it turns out the best way for me was to play it sitting down. 47 was constantly torn and twisted (and you can actually step beside him which is super weird), and it always felt like I was walking slightly sideways, I dunno. They really didnt do a good job.
Woah, it even includes a Radical Dreamers, plus translation? And pretty decent price too.
Someone should check Square-Enix, they might be coming down with some pretty strong fever or something.
Playing this on the Deck will be a treat.
It’s a decent bundle, but the shitty part is if you own any of the games then those particular titles are worthless. You can’t trade/sell/gift your duplicates or games you don’t care about.
On a side note Atomic Heart looks killer!
All I really need to know, is it good? Beyond that I don't care about watching any previews.
I hope that Chrono Cross get the same treatment as Chrono Trigger if they do screw it

I looked into some classes a bit more and I think I'll go with Scrapper to begin with. Seems a lot of fun to punch the shit out of enemies.

Has anyone got any tips for Kingdom Come: Deliverance?
Im enjoying the game, looks great, Henry is a nice lad to play as but the combat is really tough.
Also any good mods out there for it? graphically i think it looks pretty good but is there anything that helps frame rate or improves the gameplay without changing it too much?

Interesting, so I bought Master of Orion collection because it was quite cheap and at first I didn't see this,
I only checked this
And thought it should be fine to run on my Mac since it says it requires 64 bit processor and OS. And then when I go onto play it I see this warning
But I can install it so I thought I would try it and turns out that I can still play it just fine! So it was the system requirements that were correct.
So I wonder why those warnings aren't updated automatically to reflect that the game indeed can be run? I guess a person has to manually flag a product as playable and such?
