Young Blood is this month? Oh fuck right off. I was thinking it was much farther out... saving some steam cashmoneys
I am still pissed that I cannot buy a non-cut non-German Steam key this time like I did with the first two games.

Hearing about Cyber Sleuth getting delisted, makes me even happier I imported the SEA English release for Vita.
All this talk about Cyber Sleuth reminds me that I bought it on Vita too. I was sooo hyped for it, I played 2-3 hours and never touched it again. That fucking horrendous translation gave me an headache.
I guess I should retry, I want to like the game, but uguu words upon words that barely make a human sentence...

There's no need for it this time (it seems)

The only thing that I don't get is that the Youngblood product page doesn't have a disclaimer like Wolfenstein II (which makes sense):

but it still says that English isn't supported.

According to Wester, the garden-variety 70/30 pricing model hails from the olden days of distributing movies via VHS tapes: "That was physical. It cost a lot of money. This doesn't cost anything. So Epic has done a great job for the whole industry, because you get 88%. Fantastic move. Thank you very much."

Continuing to speak in regard to Epic, Wester also said the following: "They have lower margins, to get into the market. But I think it's also a matter of decency. I mean, how much does it actually cost to deliver a game?"

Wester concluded on an inquisitive note: "When the competition is low, the platform holder can get a big share of the pie; as competition increases, they need to lower their part of the pie, as well. That's how the market works, right?"

Could this mean that Paradox may ditch Steam, despite the claims they made earlier this year? That decision would ultimately lie with Ebba Ljungerud, the current CEO of the company.

oh boy #2

as a sidenote: he might not be the CEO anymore ... but he's still on the board of directors

No, honestly, people talking about Steam as if Epic, Microsofts dozens of attempts at delivering games, Origin, and the ilk could have ever helped produce such a strong and healthy market.
I get it, you guys are greedy and want more money. Great, just say that, it's the gods honest truth. But don't start dumb lectures about the worth of the Steam platform.

My cat has been gone for about 20 hours and Im about to start panicking.
One of my cats was missing 3 days until he finally came back on his own. Turned out he was hiding in an underground parking lot and was scared by all the traffic.
Hope your cat comes back soon!

That's still the censored german version though. If you want the uncut version you are stuck with a Bethesda retail key right now.

I don't know if there's still legal issues in Germany to distribute both versions with a single purchase on Steam like they do in Switzerland.

and Deliver Us The Moon is finally getting an ending alongside console release with the help of Wired Productions

Powered by Unreal® Engine 4 and including both ‘Fortuna’ and the as yet unreleased ‘Tombaugh’ story expansion, Deliver Us The Moon, is set in an apocalyptic near-future where the Earth’s resources have been depleted and humanity looks to the stars.

So this whole grand prix is just...playing games and doing things for points? What's the end goal, a gifted game? A discount?

Any of y'all who are on reddit need to be on this and ask about releasing stuff on steam and gog, etc.
Unfortunately all you're gonna get is "we'd love to have our games on PC and literally every other platform under the sun, but ultimately it's up to our localization partners to do ports and since we've chosen to partner with NISA...."

If Valve would offer only a place to buy games from, the 70:30 split would be to much yes. But the whole Steam ecosystem as well as Valves investment in Linux, Vulkan and VR hardware justify the 30% cut. But nobody talks about Valves efforts beside their Steam business.

Yup, two different games. But I gladly accept the game :D
no, indiegala is bundling and advertising the wrong game. they advertise the second one (nameless chronicles) but are giving out keys for the first one. i mailed them.

Id love to see how badly Paradox releasing one of their strategy games as an EGS exclusive would go. Not because of the backlash, but from a technical aspect.

When they release a patch breaking the game for many people like they always do, you cant roll back or use cloud saves. No workshop or proper mod support, No achievements (which are a pretty big deal for a lot of Paradox games), and no shopping cart to buy the 20 million dlc’s it’ll no doubt have.

And knowing Paradox they wont even discount the game/dlc to validate the Epic exclusivity, So you’ll still be paying the same fortune youd have to if it was on Steam.

Looks like someone fucked up. Either BadLand gave them wrong keys or IndieGala thought they bundled the second game

Obviously. Haven't you heard? 30/70 split is outdated construct that harms developers. Why would one "fix" the problem to increase their profits, only to gift the benefits over to consumers?

Apparently, it wasn't about Steam, but more about digital stores in a whole

Yet they are on Gamepass where they sure as hell are making less per unit than steam and any DLC with still be 30%.

This brave subscription and streaming future will result in massive profits, right? Ask the music industry, fractions of pennies in the dollar compared to old school album sales. When a market is disrupted to this extent, it's not the creators that make out well, it's the market holders and then consumers.

If Witcher blows up on Netflix I wonder how Bethesda will feel.

First GoT and now Witcher. They got beat to TV by 2 other medieval fantasy shows despite having one of the most popular brands in the genre with Elder Scrolls.

I guess that is what happens when you are too busy making stupid mobile games to milk consumers instead.
