Probably not her.;)

Good luck. Probably the gaming equivalent of chicks going on dating apps just to promote their instagrams and shit. Maybe she streams on Steam? :p

Yeah, Deus Ex and System Shock played like garbage, they are also 20 years old. If 20 years of evolution means "looks better" and "more time wasted in menus", I'll keep to my 2D games.
sounds like the genre isnt for you ... personallyi would take the "boring and slow" game like SS/DX/nuPrey over the quick adrenaline-rush shlooters anyday

You know, when I was your age, we actually had to go out to meet new people. No hiding behind a screen and cute smileys, and no time to think about what to say next. And when I finally met a girl I liked who was interested in me, the only way to see her again was asking for her phone number. And when I called her the next day, her dad picked up and I had to explain who I am and why I was calling. And when I finally got her on the phone, her dad could hear everything she said because the phone was attached to a wall in the living room. :cautious:

Today, there are like 1001 ways to find a partner on the internet and everyone has a phone to talk to everyone, yet more young people are single than ever. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

It's funny, the most nervous thing that I needed to come clean about to my gf was the fact that I play video games haha, I had no problem telling her that I go to stripclubs and stuff like, but damn video games.XD
Oh yeahhhh, I got this too. Vices, injuries or whatever, I don't hesitate to talk about with strangers. But gaming. Nope, I am super ashamed of it.
Don't bother telling me it's not a thing to be ashamed of, I know ! It's just ingrained in me. I suppose it's a result of being an 80's kid, gaming was not always a well received hobby.

Night Call available through Game Pass now btw.

Would you folks recommend River of Time?

I've played Drakensang before, but it didn't quite click with me. I remember that destroying barrels for loots get old pretty fast, especially because your character would unseat the weapon first every time you want to destroy a barrel.

I played both right after release so it's been a while but I remember River being more streamlined and shorter, first game definitely had some rough and annoying edges but felt 'bigger' while River was more focused and had a smaller story. Can remember if looting was less cumbersome but yes, recommendation from me if you liked Drakensang but couldn't get through it for one reason or another. Too bad the studio was dead shortly after.

I'll try to play Jedi Outcast in the next few days.
Uuuuuh game crashed when I tried to run it. I get that it is an old game, but are there any worthwhile mods to use for a first time player?

Well I played Prey and Metro Exodus.
And stopped both.

For Prey, I love the atmosphere and the story is... fucking bland and rehashed, but okay.
But the gunplay is miserable, and you only fight the two same ennemies. Oh yeah, there's huge differences later with a bigger mimic, or a fire phantom. Huge the differences. Like a texture or two. And oh, I guess I take more damage from the auto tracked AoE.
But really, it's the talent tree that's just boring. You can hack, lift heavy things, and half a dozen ways to do the same thing, unlocking new rooms... which means more to explore. And exploration is getting more from the abundant consumables taking inventory space, or more points to get more talent points. But hey there's chipsets! Which are RNG. And cool, like "do more crits with one weapon". Riveting and game changing experience.

Metro, I love the atmosphere and the story is... not bland actually, it's just a giant retcon. Dunno if that's better.
But it's just boring to play because it's slow and... you just explore to get mats to get upgrades and... I'm feeling a sense of deja vu suddenly.

Why do every single game that exists need those shitty RPG elements?
All they bring is more fucking around in the game world to find shinies, and more fucking around in menus.
But what about making the experience more fun to play rather than more of the same shit?
If you want to make an RPG, make one.
Or just make a good FPS, action game or whatever. Stop piggybacking on grinding mats and +5% "upgrades". Yeah, Deus Ex and System Shock played like garbage, they are also 20 years old. If 20 years of evolution means "looks better" and "more time wasted in menus", I'll keep to my 2D games.

Aw, what? I just finished Prey and thought it was fantastic. In fact I'm convinced Arkane could pull off Half-Life 3 after playing it.

It kind of sounds like you dropped it really early. If that's the case I beg you to stick with it, the game really does have more to offer than what you're describing. But I would recommend not playing it like one of those traditional FPS action shooters because it's not one of them. There is only 2 actual guns in Prey, and you can make it through the game without even using them. Enemy variety also opens up, there is a lot more than just mimics and phantoms to deal with.

Have you unlocked the typhon skill tree yet? There is a lot of powers to play with beyond just hacking and lifting things. The game really shines when you start getting creative. In combat and exploration both. I don't think you have to hack anything to make it through the game. I snuck into so many places just using the glue gun and turning myself into an apple or something to make into those tight spaces.

I really enjoyed my time with Prey. The atmosphere is stellar. the story is on point, with Avellone onboard, it's got the twists and turns you would expect it to. A ton of freedom to play the way you want, you can really get creative. I was like halfway through the game before I realized I could turn myself into fruit.

Anyways, I could go on and on about this game but I'm about to hit my character limit so... you know.

Play Prey if you haven't folks! It's super underrated and a real gem of a game.

I see Windows Store is still ... a little buggy.

First the XBox App wouldn't let me install Night Call on another drive if I didn't change the default setting for all apps, and now if I try to move the installation it just copies everything and leaves the files on the system drive anyway. Not a problem for a 6.3 GB game but if it was Gears or something with 100GB....

I hope it actually removes the files when I uninstall later, because last time the store started acting up I had to do a clean install... can Microsoft pleeease decouple this thing from the OS already? :p

Meh. These days I stay single on purpose. Relationships are hard and taxing... and at the very least I am personally responsible enough to be fully aware how selfish I am, how unprepared for children I am.

I value "ME time" too much to deal closely with others. I'm not gonna burden someone else with my bullshit lol.

Finally got Trails from Zero up and running with all the bells and wistles, voice patch, cheat engine to increase speed and borderless window gaming because full screen in this game is fucked. This is gonna be so good. Translation is iffy as is well known but honestly at least for the main story it gets the job done.

Coming September there'll be a bride waiting!
