He did say "managed to play". That should have been the first clue.

And that's my goal as well, at least try every single game in my library. If it sucks it sucks, I'll just uninstall and move on.
For a brief time I was actually thinking that if I categorize all my games by their steam rating and start from the worst of the worst, I could knock out a bunch of shit real fast to the "wrapped up" category. I started in December 2019. I still have the first garbage games installed, haven't launched them a single time. :grinning-face:

Great plan, flawed execution.

Lol I'm not like the gaming police I was just pointing out what they said with them saying "well actually..." in the reddit thread beyond the headline

Even if all they did was try out 1200+ games for 20-30 minutes and go "this is ass" that's still crazy impressive, but that doesn't seem like that case at all

Given the usual summer/winter sale mindset of 'You play the games you buy?!" becoming less and less or a joke as times goes on for a lot players, setting your own standard for finished is fine. Get your use out of a game and move on, who cares what the internet thinks?

the room has now the carpet, albeit in four identical pieces, but it's still pretty much there now
yeah, i didn't do that much today as i was busy planning and stressing about something else, but nothing a little valerian root can't fix

the most i could do for today was add more placeholders for props that i'm eventually gonna add, as well as the curtain holder thing above the window; cloth physics in source 2 is a bit trickier, so i have to think about that one for a bit

other than that, nothing much

Speaking of playing games, I started one of the two games I bought from the sale, Globesweeper.
It's fine. But I guess I should've read the store description better since I didn't realize that it's infinitely generated puzzles. Which is also fine, actually great if you just want infinite puzzles.
But I prefer to have a set number of "curated" levels. Even if the curated levels are generated, I really need to have some kind of end goal in sight for these types of games.

Seems like the sequel, Globesweeper Hex Puzzler is more of what I actually wanted since it specifies 92 levels.
But I might still do some regular Globesweeper here and there, the colossal puzzles are in fact quite large and doing a triangle one of those could be quite time consuming and challenging.

Lol I'm not like the gaming police I was just pointing out what they said with them saying "well actually..." in the reddit thread beyond the headline

Too late! Someone already called them!

Getting deep into FF7 Remake now. Side quests really pad out the game, not sure they are needed but I'm enjoying the battle system enough that I want to do them.

The eternal gamer struggle for completetionist vs getting to the end.

That game is like 80% padding lol, but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it.

This is really what I am wondering. There are so many good JRPGs out there that I haven't spent proper time with yet... but this series always intrigued me so I wanted to give it a shot. At least I know now!
Here's a philosophy worth keeping in mind when it comes to playing the backlog; If a game seems interesting or intriguing, give it a shot. If you enjoy it, that's great. If you aren't enjoying yourself after 5 minutes or an hour or two or whatever time limit you see fit then just drop it and move on. These things are meant for entertainment and you shouldn't waste a single minute on one that isn't entertaining you. There should be absolutely no sunk cost fallacy feeling towards the money or more importantly (yes) the time spent on a game that you don't like. There are so many other experiences out there that are more worthy of your attention. You just have to find one.

EDIT - was too dumb to click on the next page button to see that this post is completely redundant. Oh well.

Very much looking forward to the eventual release of Returnal on Steam. I have it on PS5, but only managed to get to the boss of the third biome so far (never killed it). It's a game that requires you to invest a lot of time and a lot of failure in order to complete it (it's a roguelite after all), so I wanna finish it on PC.

I can also definetly see it being easier and better with kb/m. PS5 people will scream about using DualSense the moment it's announced. The game uses DualSense really well, but the novelty and care for the DualSense only lasted like 3-4 hours for me.

Just finished Galahad Fortress in Xenoblade 1, leaving Alcamoth did wonder to my interest in the game. Still boring, but 'I want to know what happens next' boring, not 'why the fuck am I playing this' boring.

Really torn on which system I will play 2. Switch undocked is infamous, but it's not like emulation is that hot either, 30 fps with regular drops just big enough to be noticeable is not good.

Again, I'm late to the party (I see some Meta members from my fl having it on their wishlist) but Astrea looks really interesting.

Maybe this dice-deck-building game will open the gates for more of its kind in the future.

I give up on Steam guard.
Iv tried 3 accounts, 3 devices (ios and android), gotten the same copy paste response 3 times. over 3 weeks.
Called my mobile service provider. nothing is blocked on their end. steam never ever sends any text messages.
This same phone number worked fine on Steam for over 10 years previously.

Have you tried sending an email to Steam support?

Also, shoutout to PossiblyPudding for setting some tough times in Episode 3. We had a on-going battle where we kept beating each other's times. :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-tightly-closed-eyes:
It's been such a great time battling back and forth! And congrats on finishing the game! I need to get back into improving my times again, especially the rocket jump levels. I love those so much.

Plus now that Arsene bought it I have yet another person to watch out for. I can't keep fighting on so many fronts! :fearful-face:

..or can I? :thinking-blob:

Star Human comes out in EA this month
I kickstarted this one, I'm really happy with how it seems to be coming along. Always knew I wanted a high framerate Star Fox since I played the SF1 remake stages in a Warioware game.

Daily update thing

computer photogrammetry was a failure, thought i could manually fix it, but there's no fixing something that looks like it came along with the gameboy that survived a bombing in the gulf war, so i have wasted 2.87 credits on it, leaving me with 5

cloth in source 2 for the curtains have also been not very good, and i'm thinking about how to do that

thinking about how to progress this in a competent way

Dragon Dice came out when I was in my teens and "play every CCG and tabletop game I can get my hands on" phase with my friends, and while it had monumental issues, I always loved the concept. Dicey Dungeons unfortunately didn't land for me, I found it incredibly boring, but I keep hoping a dice-builder game will be great and take off and we can see more of them.

Made some good progress. Fun game is fun. This new monster was real easy though, next to no unexpected range & direction attacks, very predictable and I was never a fan of the Zinogre type monsters anyway. That was a big Magnamalo though! The next in line for progress looks like it will be pretty tough too.

Don’t make me tap the sign about how you shouldn’t buy Ubisoft games. Just don’t give them your money. Stop it.
Looks at 1-Brotherhood on Playstation & 1-Unity on Steam & 1-Valhalla on Ubisoft

Uhhhh....

With all of the removal of Online/DLC they're talking about for stuff and it just makes me sad I won't really go out of my way to get a new AC after this.
The only way I see myself really giving them some money is i f they put them up on GOG like they did with the first game but that's only because I'd feel less guilty about 🏴‍☠️ if I bought it DRM free considering those versions are now arguably the best ones now ( i mean they generally are now anyways)

This is neat, I was looking into getting a SDVX controller (Faucetwo) recently but the shipping costs are out of this world.
Totally, mine was USD1.586,38 + taxes and I had to wait more than a year to get it cause covid stop production. The girl I like has one of those SDVX controller.

Today I found out that in 2 days, I've had my Galaxy S8 phone for 5 years

And my computer is 6 years old in the beginning of august (next month).

Feels good that I've managed to take care and survive on them for so long.

I have no idea when to buy a new phone and what it will be. I am planning on buying a new PC once the 4080 becomes available.

S22 looks sweet if you wanna stick with Android / Samsung.

Yeah, Im thinking of sticking to Samsung. I did actually have the iPhone 3GS before switching to Samsung, but I found the iPhone to be boring. Yes, weird, I know, but that's what I felt.
I was close to switching to Android with the S22 but decided to stick with iPhone because that's what my parents use and that way it's easier for me to do tech support for them.

I've been doing tech support for my parents for years despite them having iPhones. :p

might be a weird ask, but what're some good games in a medieval setting? No genre specifically just want the medieval type setting!
