"If there is a replacement key available (as an upgrade key or another edition), re-negotiate your trade if the trade was done within reasonable time (max 1 week). If both parts cannot agree on the new terms, void the trade."

I'd like also notify everyone that do international trades. If you and your trader decides to void the trade, the seller will always have to pay a refund fee, if Paypal was used and it was an international payment. Both parts must agree on whom who should pay the fee or how to split the fee.
I added some thoughts but it came out a bit more long-winded:

'In the case of a key revocation, if a replacement key was made available to its seller (as an upgrade key or another edition) and the trade had taken place within [time frame], the seller should seek to renegotiate their trade with the buyer of the revoked key and amend the situation prior to offering or selling this replacement key to a third party. If neither buyer nor seller can agree on the new terms of a trade, [their responsibilities toward one another end, but if a transaction fee were involved, the seller ought to refund the buyer this fee.]'

One potential wrinkle: to repay the fee the seller will have to pay a fee. IIRC, the fee is €2. For the seller to repay that fee, they will need to pay €4. 😅 I personally take the position that the fee is just the cost of doing a transaction like that, and up to the buyer to decide if they want to pay it or not. I tend to avoid buying from sellers where I'd have to pay international fees, for example. But this is certainly up for debate. I guess it also acts as an incentive for both parties to settle the dispute. I would be fine either way, but it also doesn't really affect my decision making in a significant way, so I can't say too much about it. Just throwing this out there as a consideration.

I would include "the seller should seek to renegotiate ... prior to offering or selling ..." since the seller is more likely to become aware of this taking place than the buyer and it is otherwise in their advantage to get rid of the key for double profits -- not that I would expect any of the fine people here to do so ;). Once informed, the buyer can act on the information. If the buyer doesn't respond or contact the seller themselves, there's nothing else that can be done. Perhaps a time-frame for the initial response is worth qualifying. Perhaps I'm overthinking things!

The void trade thing sounded a bit off in my mind which is why I thought about rephrasing it. Mainly because if no trade can be agreed on there's nothing to be voided so it could be confusing? I dunno.

I think that's all I have left to add to this. Hopefully this situation just won't repeat itself! That would probably be the best outcome :p

Played a few scenarios of HoMM3 yesterday, got it out of my system. Was worried that it might suck me back in and just eat away all my time.

I guess the franchise might be dead, it's been close to 4 years since Heroes 7 and I don't recall it set the world on fire or anything. And to be honest none of the more recent entries have really grabbed me either to the point that I don't think I even played 7. Not sure I played 6 either.

I think the last R-Type I played was Delta on PS1. It was pretty cool and pretty sweet looking for such weak hardware going for a full polygonal shmup.

Visually this almost looks like a remake.

The R-Type Final 2 Kickstarter is on:

I was backer number 1. :giggle:

Thankfully, they have cheaper, accessible tiers. I mean, if you want all in-game content, you only need... $10.000+. o_O
I mean, the exclusive in-game tiers start at $500+, and only go up.

Yeah, I want the game, but I'm seriously tempted to cancel my pledge. :cautious:

What a mess HoMM has become, 2 and 3 are all-time classics, they were so impressive back in the day. I still remember when I imported Homm1, 2 and 3. At that time importing in Spain was not easy to do, you had to call a store in Madrid or Valencia to order the game and you would pay on delivery. Imagine waiting more than a month for it to arrive on the post. Such good memories.

As you mention the recent entries have been bland and couldn't replicate or create something new from that blueprint. It's so sad :(

I know I wrote that I got HoMM out of my system but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

I think I might play through the campaign again, and I don't think I ever touched the expansions at all.,

edit: ^^ Perfect timing for this followup post.

Um... why do I all of a sudden have more than 1000 crappy Spiral Knights items? I think it used to be 7 from the last time I played the game years and years ago.

I feel I need to add new rules to the BST trading thread. But before doing so I want to know what you feel about it. I am discussing it here since the BST thread is not for discussion.
I know that Meta don't have resellers, (those who buy for reselling purposes), but still I want to avoid this kind of behaviour. This is about the deactivated keys for the unredeemed Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Edition.

The situation is this:
All non redeemed Blops 4 Battle edition were deactivated after that Humble replaced this edition with the Standard edition. Even if gift links on the Humble profile page were created those became invalidated. Those who activated the game on their Battle.net account still have the game. I haven't seen someone saying that they got the Battle edition removed from their account.

This means that the subscribers who sold their Battle edition key to people who bought those for reselling purposes are being risked to be called scammers. I feel this is an unfair situation for the sellers. Since they sold a working key at the time. They didn't know that Humble were going to deactivate them and replace them with a Standard key. Most have sold their keys at the beginning of the month, so it has been more than three weeks since the trade were done.

What I want to add to the rules list are following:
  • Don't buy for reselling purposes. If you still insist on doing so then you are responsible of your own actions.
  • Finished trades are final. Changes after each trade are not allowed
  • The seller is responsible that the key is working at the time of the trade
  • The buyer must make sure that the key is working directly after the trade
What do you think?
I'll say that it's your responsibility to replace a revoked gift link. The reason for why someone bought it and kept it is irrelevant. If it stopped working, you need to replace it. If you don't want to do you need to put a disclaimer on your trades saying so. It should absolutely not be a general rule. One can use it as their own terms disclaimed in their selling posts instead.

Noticed that as well a few days ago. Very odd. Btw I tried removing my license to the game, didn't work. Items are still there.

This new DLC is just part of developer White Rabbit’s commitment into making Death's Gambit better with each release. The development team has noted that while they will not be at E3, their work on the DLC is entering a polish phase as most of the content is now playable.

With regards to why development has taken so long, White Rabbit states that the DLC is enormous, featuring a huge number of changes, updates, and regular bug and stability fixes. Some of these include:
  • 100 new class talents
  • New levels
  • New bosses
  • A New Metroidvania style map. (Probably inspired by Dead Cells.)
  • New game modes
  • New weapons
  • Continued story progression beyond the conclusion of the main story
  • Cusith has been reworked entirely.
  • Golden Drake Knight enemies have been vastly improved
  • Y’lnoth enemies have been improved
  • Added bear traps to abilities. These traps have no stat requirements and the damage scales with your current level. You can place five before you run out, but you will be able to get five of them again after using a save point.
  • Ice trap variant of the bear trap that works the same, only it freezes enemies instead
  • Double jump ability for better traversal
  • Crash down ability that opens areas with sigils. (Yep, definitely inspired by Dead Cells.)
  • Various level expansions and changes to account for new traversal abilities
The double jump and the crash down abilities are part of the updated progression system, which sees you exploring various reworked areas.

Uhm, I was thinking about $15 would be a sweet price to back the project. But this is $30 game with no kickstarter bonus content I am not so sure anymore. An old stage from a previous R-Type game it will cost $250k. That's insane amount of money they want to reproduce an old stage. Same amount as they want for 102 ships. I was excited when they announced that they will do a kickstarter project of the next R-Type game. But they want too much money for so little content

I mean, I don't think they imply every 100k and 250k and whatever else over that is needed for each stretch goal's base costs.

Just that if they happen to exceed their base goal by that much (I doubt they will for some stuff), then they will also add that stuff for sure.

Maybe they will post-release if it does well enough to justify it anyway.

It would make no sense a Delta level remake to the same fidelity costs less than other games' level remakes etc.

Niche game, if a good chunk of the fanbase funds it then they get no money from them later which means they need to account for profit as well, imo.

Not just doing it by the skin of their teeth and what, dissolving the team right after it's out?

I'm not against exclusive goodies for big spenders depending on how it's handled.

Ie, is the "backer exclusive wave cannon" the only weapon that will fit that purpose in the game or just new graphics for the same thing anyone can use? Etc.

If the ships and weapons given to those backers allow them to get better high scores or whatever that would suck.

Unless maybe they have backer-only leaderboards and that stuff is not shown to any other player and the game doesn't feel like it misses something. I dunno.

I mean, what if I was a billionaire and told SEGA hey, here's 250 million to put towards Panzer Dragoon Saga 2.

But you have to make exclusive Dragon dlc with a flames paintjob for me. Would you care about it?

Or simply don't care about R-Type's return after 15 years with the proposed production values and play any other cheap indie shmup or oldie, that's fine too.

TAITO's last Darius game is still ~46 for the base edition on Steam and it came out in 2015 (and was iterating on a PSP game from 2009/arcade from 2010).
