Uh, is there a way to remove that chat thingy at the bottom?
well you might need it for the E3 livestreams :p but if you don't want to use it - there is a setting in options (the 3 gears icon when you open the chat)

I asked about this before, but no good solution was found.
You can disable it, but then a new bar for enabling it appears. It also breaks the width for mobile view ports
Oh. Ya. Now (on desktop) I have a scrollbar at the bottom because of that new bar instead of the chat bar.

I think the chat is currently active just to see how it works but it's intended to be only switched on during live events.

Edit: (this was supposed to be before lash post, btw)

that's also true, yeah ... it's in "beta" right now (and will be until the first presser)

after all the pressers are done it will be disabled most of the time - unless some other live streaming even happens

It's better but it still breaks the width. Still see the horizontal scrollbar

That's good to hear :)

Downunder.
If I can make a suggestion about the MetaChat, I think we should remove the 5px padding between the chat bar and the message editor. It'll reduce unusable space on mobile too.

lashman While we're derailing the thread and requesting stuff can i request we don't use whatever customizations Era have implemented recently or at least test it with "Zoom Page WE" in Firefox? I've pretty much stopped using Era since their redesign since it's an unusable mess if you use Zoom Page for accessibility.

I looked in the suggestions but a request not to do something didn't seem to fit there.

Are we expecting any kind of game announcement during that Stadia thing? I'll gladly skip another hour of "Behold! The future you definitely want but never asked for when you'll be able to play games on every conceivable device (as long as you live in a big city, have a good connection, no data cap, in a country with net neutrality where ISP won't charge you extra for this and also own a device we decided to support) while giving us all power on where, when and how you purchase your games. Be impressed!"
(Not an exclusive though, thankfully.)

Don't get me wrong I love BG but it's been 20 years or so since 2, it's a bit niche to reveal a whole new console/paradigm. Maybe someone at google is a BG superfan.

Well, if there's a genre of game that can work with big input-delay it's RPGs (and anything turn-based). Also niche things might be more helpful in pushing this kind of tech, rather than mainstream things you can already find alternatives for elsewhere.

I'm sure this is the line of thought in BG's marketing firm. It's an untapped market, make enough noise even people who don't care with take notice. It's why I believe XCOM succeeded when that genre was all but hibernating. They were the only game in town and they let people know.

I'm all for season passes, but this is too much! At least with the season passes for R6 Siege and Street Fighter , they made sense since those were made with GaaS in mind.
At least they're, you know, seasonal.

Alright, why has no one told me that she's voiced by Nana Mizuki and there's singing. Suddenly A+ game.

Also the dragons look pretty cool.
Shining Games are weird but I wouldn't mind seeing more of them hit Steam tbh. A friend of mine willingly admits to the games being pretty middling at best, but still she plays them because of her infatuation with TonyTaka's art. :face-with-cold-sweat: Personally I think he has too much sameface going on though. :p

Somehow I pulled a Shuten with my free quartz after completing Orleans campaign. o_O Now we save for Mama Raikou return!

What servants should I raise for Onigashima?

How does everyone organize the games they play simultaneously?

I like to play very different games at the same time. Not only in terms of genres, but the situations in which I'm comfortable playing them. An RPG like Pillars of Eternity for instance I like to play alone and without distractions. Crusader Kings II on the other hand I can play while talking to friends on Discord. Something like Life is Strange is a good Steam Link game to play with my wife.

I played through Portal again just today. I still remember what a great surprise it was with The Orange Box. The Weighted Companion Cube will never leave me.
I used to have an "Ongoing" category I'd put stuff into on Steam, but I kind of gave up with my categories and just always use the "Recent" view now, what I'm playing will be near the top always then. Plus with games on other platforms just have to keep them in mind.

Honestly, assuming it works of course, I'm excited for Stadia 😕
I am primarily concerned with companies introducing yet another way for people to not own the stuff they are paying for. Also, since I have a PC already, seems redundant with Steam link and all that.

So if someone has Trover Saves the Universe on Epic Store, does it launch Steam VR when they try to play it in VR? They only mention specific HMD compatibility (Oculus, Vive, Index) rather than API compatibility (like SteamVR or OpenVR or whatever else exists, I dunno). I'm just curious, haha.

OpenVR is SteamVR without the need for Steam, so probably that. It might default to SteamVR if you have Steam open at the same time, but it will work without Steam installed at all

I'm not familiar at all with the Shining franchise, I just knew going into this that it's a remaster of a mid-tier PS3 anime game with additional content and tweaks and that's what I got! It's indeed pretty middling except Nana Mizuki and singing, but that's fine, haha.

Okee, thought they're different APIs and games could use SteamVR even if they're not Steam games/without opening Steam as it launches independently.

Found a relevant-ish post by a guy.
You are welcome to launch SteamVR without Steam and run content that way. Except for occasional bugs, this is a configuration we've supported since the Vive launch.

If you are in an enterprise where you want to distribute SteamVR internally without Steam on each machine, email vrlicensing@valvesoftware.com. We have an additional license for that.

OpenVR is the API. SteamVR is the implementation of that API.
And reports where people get better performance going through SteamVR than just OpenVR for reasons.

Idk. Oh well. Would have been funny if they called the open API SteamVR and let people use that rather than make the Steam implementation its own thing.

I guess again they did what was best for the API's success and users so nobody feels they advertise Steam even when using Valve stuff.
