My black bars issue in AC Syndicate should be fixed, we will see. Basically TV makers and Devs are making a dick size contest about who is dumber.

Has Valve said anything about the events unfolding in the US yet? Because it would be a shame if they wouldn't make it on a certain "traitor list" that is making its rounds

Thx for the recommendation. I guess the 32-bit style struck a chord with the horror genre of indie games. Found these games too, Maybe I'll pick all of these up on the next sale.

I'm aware of these

Umurangi Generation I hear is great and I really like Sayonara Umihara Kawase though it might be pushing it a bit in terms of visuals.

They are making a new game?

it's out! :)
Strange they are not doing a live stream this time around?

damn ... the Private Division projects ara all quite a mess arent they lashman

  • kerbal 2 - the above mess
  • Monkey's Creed - egged and rushed to launch
  • Darkborn - picked up by PD , soon after cancelled publishing and ultimately cancelation of the game
  • Only Outer Worlds went pretty OK , while being egged
I'm guessing that other indies will not sign up with them and that Take 2 will just retire that name?

Having held my Steam controller for the first time in my hands for weeks and I think I like it a bit less now. It's a tad too big for my hands and I wish I could move the analogue stick position up a little bit.

Anyway, ordered one of these 8bitdo SN30 Pro Plus controllers and hope it is good

it's not you, it's the game.

Of course it's region locked. Is there a particular reason most of Konami games on steam aren't available in Asian region? Other than incompetence?
This is their full games list that's available on my region.
That is very strange especially with how they make it a point in the article that they will also support Asia.

I'm guessing that it didn't work out to well for that indie game on Steam at least? It is still very soon, just a day but it doesn't seem to have that many reviews.

Their last tweet was on the 25th, so theyve been silent unless they've released it as PR elsewhere.

I don't remember Steam often making statements in regards to real-life affairs, to be honest.

Do tell me if that's wrong but doesn't that fall afoul of antitrust laws, the same one that had MS was entangled with a while ago?
It appears that Edge will be automatically installed through Windows Update on Windows 10 version 1803 and higher. That covers the vast majority of versions of Windows 10 that are currently supported, meaning it should start showing up in Windows Update for everyone soon. As always, this is a gradual rollout, so you might not see it immediately on Windows Update just yet.
Forced updates are fantastic, there can never be anything wrong with trusting a central authority not to abuse its position, Microsoft in particular.

I guess I'm glad I'm still rocking 7 :).

Holy smokes, Sea of Thieves has over 10.5k CCU players, that's AMAZING!!!!
They sadly raised the price when I woke up this morning.

Also I played it on and off with the ms store before it was in steam, there always has been plenty of players.

That was one of the issues in their original antitrust lawsuits from the 90s. It forced their browser onto consumers at the expense of netscape navigator et al and gave them unfair advantages in the browser market

Its pretty much Black Desert Online Battle Royale, pretty fun, but monetization is questionable at best.

The best part of these delays is watching the racists lose their shit.
It's a double whammy considering this is the pride month as well. Bigots are also coming out of the woodwork. I've been lurking in the Nintendo Homebrew discord and their mods are banning these reprobates like shooting fish in a barrel. It gives me life. :dana_joy:

Which reason? The Mega Drive collection still selling?
Isn't it because the Classics collection is a weird fucking package where you buy the individual games but you're actually buying DLC and the main HUB game-thing so whenever people buy individual games for a dime they get the whole thing?
I worded my post poorly, sorry.

I was trying to grasp the reason why SEGA didn't release a compilation of Game Gear games which certainly will bring them more money.

Although, after reading the update in this article:

Update 06/03/20 at 1:45 a.m.: The “huge scoop” teased by Nishikawa is that Sega is doing research and development on “Fog Gaming,” a potential new game platform that could be utilized by Japanese arcades.

Fog Gaming would repurpose arcades across Japan as part of the cloud, as well as channel arcade game machines’ CPUs and GPUs, resulting in lower costs. This would provide ultra low latency, and the concept is similar to fog computing. Players would be able to enjoy high-quality games, and arcades would be able to make money even after business hours.
It looks that their aim is to help arcade businesses in order to attract more income for them .. through some kind cloud gaming service? :dana_think:

I strongly disagree with pretty much every point you raised. I don't think that this is an accurate reading of events relating to EGS or customer behavior and I will explain my own point of view.
Sorry for the late reply. And since people have said they don't like having this discussion in this thread, so I'll try to keep it short.

Publishers only care about where they will get more money. Getting EGS exclusivity money + money from Steam customers a year later is more than getting just the EGS money and no money from Steam customers. If you want to believe that skipping EGS exclusivity and releasing everywhere at the same time would have given them even more money then that is your prerogative. My point is that by buying EGS exclusives on Steam, Steam customers are validating the strategy of taking the exclusivity deal.

And if you or anyone else truly believes that Epic is desperate or failing at their strategy then I would strongly urge you look outside of your echo chamber. They have generated more goodwill in the last month with their giveaways than they have since launch. People are happily becoming users and customers of their store, with or without the sale coupon. Snowrunner was the last to report good sales figures and that launched before the sale discount happened. I personally know folks who pre-ordered the game and didn't need a discount/freebie to get them to spend money on the store. The sentiment on reddit (outside one particular subreddit) towards the EGS is hugely positive. There are people who actually say that EGS is better than Steam now because Steam doesn't sell their games at a loss. Like I said before, discounts and freebies are all it takes to buy customers.

This is not the first time this has happened either. Remember when the Windows store and UWP came out and there was a hugely negative reaction towards it from the PC gaming community? People avoided the store for ages until Microsoft came up with their $1 Gamepass deals. That's all it took to change people's minds. There are now people (PC gamers, not just Xbox folks) who call Gamepass the best gaming service ever. The Windows store does all the shit it used to do 3 years ago. It still puts encrypted folders on your hard drive that you can't access with an admin account. Games still have no mods. They are still unstable. But people will ignore all this because it's cheap enough. Nobody will claim the Windows store is successful but it is now acceptable to many. That is where Epic is heading. They are making the practice of store bought exclusivity acceptable to PC gamers at large.

Well, this didn't end up being short at all. Apologies to those who dislike this conversation. I'll refrain from bringing it up again.

Agreed! It's certainly something that's guaranteed to bring a smile to my face every time.

Folks upset at the delays themselves, fine, it's a little silly but I can at least understand that. Those that are treating it as some sort of attack against themselves and spreading hatred and bigotry in return is laughable, depressing and pretty pathetic all at the same time.

The price of the Command and Conquer Remastered collection was reduced in my steam store yesterday. If you're interested in the game or, like me, you bought it before, go and have a look at the store page to see if you need to refund it.

I've completely stopped playing Fallout 76 since PSO2 was released last week.

As old as the game is, the combat and gameplay loop is still so fun and satisfying. So many weapons and classes that you can switch at your heart's content, and there's always something to upgrade and look up to. It's a prime example of "gameplay is king".

At the same time it shows devs & pubs the only reason to go EGS is Epic's, not customers' money and, while that's certainly a lot given their other ventures, it's not never ending, it's for the chosen few, and it's not forever as Epic need that investment to be returned 1000fold by becoming an actual Steam competitor. If the game doesn't sell on Steam it was the right decision to go EGS because it was gonna be a flop and Epic's money saved it, however "undeservedly". I will not hold a business decision against a dev whether I agree with it or not, but if they were bullshitting PR when announcing it, then I of course don't need their game.

Accidentally sold 1/3 of my CSGO inventory on market :(
I legit though someone had somehow accessed my account, but thankfully that wasn't the case.

On positive side, I have funding for summer sale and probably even winter sale.
But wanted to hold and I'd had gotten way more.

Steam Market is legit the best feature after launching games

When is Steamquisition happening?
Theoretically, it was going to happen, later today but as some things are getting delayed due the recent situation, well, you never know, although EULAs are in place, so.... maybe it's really happening today.
