damn, I missed the EA giveaway. Oh well, I'll get to play Sea of Solitude soon enough
anyway, a few more demo impressions
Relicta: first-person puzzler set on a futuristic moon base with a fairly polished presentation and some nice visuals. A bit slow (there's a tad too much story and some overly simple early puzzles), and it doesn't exactly reinvent the genre (you're still manipulating blocks to flip switches, here using antigrav devices and magnetic polarity), but it seems promising enough.
Anew: The Distant Light: sci-fi side-scroller with lots of shooting, a jet pack, and an interesting (if somewhat rough) combination of 2D and 3D art assets. the actual game is a Metroidvania, but the demo is just a series of linear sections that show off various features. seems promising though
TOHU and Papetura: these are both Amanita Designs (Machinarium et al)-style point-and-click games with little to no text and very nice art. not a ton to say beyond that
