Strive continues to be great. 17 hours played already. :blobevening:

I've been trying to learn Zato, and it's hard as hell. I've never seriously tried to learn a negative-edge character before, and I'm turning my hands into pretzels just trying to practice a string that incorporates Zato and Eddie at the same time. Despite that, it's mad fun, especially thanks to Zato's Oppose move. It turns Eddie into a shield for a bit, and oh boy do players get knowledge-checked by it. I keep hearing that Sol is busted, but all the ones I face just leap face-first into Oppress and die. Same with Mays. And Leos. And Anjis. Too unga to live. :coffee-blob:

I've made it to Floor 9 so far, and I'm starting to run into really good players who blow me up. One Chipp wrecked me so fast I genuinely didn't know what was happening, and it was pretty sick.

Thinking of learning to play May now because of her character theme.
Her theme seemed so out-of-place to me at the start, but it's really grown on me.

If you're interested, here are some handy tips for learning her:

Well, be interesting to see if being EGSlusive for 2 years+ (or whatever) and free hurts it ow much

Plus, it is a new game. :evilblob:

World War Z: Aftermath is the ultimate co-op zombie shooter and the next evolution of the original hit World War Z that has now captivated over 15 million players.
Even EGS customers who received the game for free will have to pay to upgrade their version:

well I have a lot of hopes from today's shows.
I think I should spell PC gaming show as port gaming show from now on because that's what I look forward to, but jokes aside I wanna see what xbox have in their plans.

Zato's always been a tricky character to master but with practice he can be figured out properly
Best of luck!

Yeah E3 so far has been an out and out stinker, with the sole exception of the Elden Ring and Death Stranding news imo 🤷‍♂️

The only other thing of note has been the slate of indies BUT (and this will sound harsh I’m sure), there are so so so so many indie games in general these days that it’s like white noise. Some folks I’ve noticed saying “oh no, my wish list is growing rapidly cos of all these E3 indies” and I’m the exact opposite; there’s too much to stand out against each other when only going off of 2-3 mins videos
For me, unless it’s in a certain series or from a certain developer, then I’m unlikely to give it any mind until release and I see the impressions and reviews
(devolver conference was still fucking ace to watch even that being said)

Then we just have complete crap like Ubi
Is it a symptom of my getting older and the changing nature of the market?
I’m sitting here futilely hoping for a new splinter cell, BG&E, PoP or rayman, but it’s all about big service MP games and the same open world template we’ve seen since 2011. I’m not happy about it but am I the fool for sitting expecting something that even if it did happen would be an aberration of their current portfolio strategy, and thus extremely unlikely?

and now I have Nina Struthers voice in my head, “…video games, which let’s face it you don’t enjoy anymore anyway”

I am very excited towards the shows today. Can't wait to see Starfield (finally!) and know what SQEX has. FF Collection and Babylon's Fall are my wish. Forspoken is releasing within this fiscal year so they should have a full-blown reveal on it, too.

So the only 2 shows I was actually interested in, MS & PC Gaming Show, are on today. Problem is I can't watch either of them. MS one is on while I am visting my parents and the PC gaming show is on far too late for me, unfortunately work tomorrow so an early start.

pretty excited for Xbox showcase, a lot of stuff that are speculated and guaranteed to come is there probably, can't wait for P5R, Yakuza: LaD and other stuff to finally hit it
PC gaming showcase not so much, only worth it because of Valve's message, but the problem is that they've officially said it's gonna be more info on Steam Nest Fest

I'm excited for the Xbox, Square Enix and PC Gaming Show. I've managed to book a week off work to take care of life admin stuff in the day (such as replacing my ISP, helping my brother and family move to another country, and a few personal projects) but I'm able to stay up late to catch everything.

Guess it's better to temper expectations for the xbox showcase for me.

The thing with insiders is they will have a glimpse into the goings on of some companies, but not others. There is no single well of game information that can be drawn on, so insiders will never have a complete picture of what's coming. They are, and continue to be, frequently surprised by announcements.

I think a lot of people treat insiders like CBOAT-level sages on GAF, who by all accounts was just a sock puppet for leaks run by the admins. I doubt there are many, or any, people in the game industry who have the depth and breadth of leaks that CBOAT had.

I'm not saying to keep the hope alive for Persona 5 Royal in any way, shape or form because I don't necessarily think we'll see it this week, but an absence of evidence is not necessarily evidence of absence in these cases.

Just wait and see guys, and don't be disappointed if it's not there. Atlus may want to give it more time. If what Queen says is true, and the PC version was tested a while ago (and presumably is ready), plans frequently change and they may be sitting on a version for PC that is ready so they can co-market it with versions for other platforms, that may not be as far along.

Remember that SMT3 HD released less than a month ago and Sega likes to spread out its PC releases, so imo it's very likely there won't be anything from Atlus at E3.

I'm excited for the Nintendo show since Shin Megami Tensei V is practically guaranteed to be there thanks to its release date leaking. Also there's a good chance the Breath of the Wild sequel will appear. Otherwise I have had rock bottom expectations going into the show and I haven't been disappointed yet.

You can currently buy Assassin's Creed Valhalla Season Pass for 20$/€ and first expansion was released month ago and second one is not even out. There really is no point purchasing anything Ubisoft Day 1.
I know its not a particularly popular option but when they have their own subscription offering and their day one digital LEs are always sky f*cking high price wise, I really don't know why anyone would buy anything day one from ubi anymore

I got Valhalla Gold for 13$ on that price error right before launch. :p

I haven't bought anything Ubi full prices since Odyssey pre-order on Steam.

I didn't give money to Ubisoft for almost 2 years. I got AC Odyssey via Stadia Beta, got Odyssey Season Pass from a friend, got Valhalla on Era BTS thread (SSD or GPU promo code), got WD Legion from a friend that got it with GPU....

I feel that the "no visible damage" mantra is damaging (*snicker) the appeal of racing sims, maybe even more from the enthusiast and hardcore racing fans angle.

that ending ... lmaoooo

:toucan:

I made a meme with my discord avatar on my feelings so far on this festival :blobweary:
goddammit Gizmo, lol ... you're not wrong, though :p

My expectations are always at zero so I always get surprised.
you say that ... but then you watch something like the Koch or Gearbox presentations and ....

Documents from the Apple/Epic lawsuit said it was EGS exclusive.

Edit:

That's weird. I guess the video editor just made a mistake considering "Steam" is spelled as "Stream".

Youtube Channel is not legit.

Also Yager was removed from development years ago, this game is at this point under Homefront the revolution dev umbrella and no, there's no way in hell it's coming in 2021 IF ever.

To be fair, Grubb was talking about Persona 5 on Game Pass, not the PC version in general. There is still hope

I don't think there's such a thing? Just certain series like Gran Turismo (back in the day only) do it. Project Cars, Automobilista 2, Dirt Rally, F1 2020, have damage.

To be honest, while I'm joking about my picture and so, reality is that I don't expect any announcement from SEGA today from Japanese side, only amplitude and total war IF they want but that's it.
