This person is supposedly a reliable leaker and got a ton of stuff right about Nintendo. Guess we'll see if this list of games is correct in the next few days.
His Monster Hunter leaks have been 100% accurate so far so I would trust him. The Mario + Rabbids thing makes me very excited.

Would be nice with a Q3 release for Bb PC.
If the BB PC port/remaster that was supposed to be in late testing a year ago actually exists, it makes no sense whatsoever to release it after or just before Elden Ring (january). So it pretty much must be released Q3.

That there is not even an announcement at this point, let alone a release, combined with the likelihood of a PS5 first, PC later release, does not fill me with optimism. Unless PC is day one, it's already too late, imo.

Who's this fella?
The greatest games writer/media person of all time, every time.

Tim has been in industry since PS1 days, has deep connections within the industry and knows what's up. Although he's not your insider type of guy, just be aware. As for his job, apart from JPN-EN localization and former work at Kotaku, he is currently working on his own venture Action Button.

It's never too late. But surely it won't release day and date with the PS5 version.

I liked Thief 4....
Was it your first Thief?

To be clear, I don't think Thi4f was bad in absolute value. It even improved on some core aspects of Thief: for instance the custom difficulty settings for self-imposed challenges (eg ghost) were great, and showed some of the devs at least were paying attention to the community.

However, the loss of charm in the setting thanks to the confusing pseudo reboot (no Pagans, no Hammers, no Keepers, replaced by a more generic and forgettable big Bad -- which I don't even remember), greater linearity of the levels, forced escape sequences, no true rope arrow, ... greatly limited the creativity you could bring to bear during the game... which was the whole point.

I also intensely dislike the monochromatic art direction. The engine was great, but was given scant opportunity to render pretty things (more of a personal taste thing; some people like the "100% gritty backstreets all the time" style. I'd have proffered to rob opulent banks with marble and shiny bronze security systems rather than wallow in lovingly-rendered gutters, but that's just me. ).

Still, what's left was actionnable if you could take it for what it was. The mutilated zombie of a great game concept can be a good game on its own terms. I'd just have preferred an unmutilated, live version, and many fans felt the same; it looks like the franchise is dead for good because of that, and that's a crying shame. :-(

BB is under Sony
Elden Ring is under Bandai Namco

They could pretty much release the same day and it wouldn't be incompatible, as a matter of fact, both would be competing against each other with a very similar product.

... and that's my point.

It would make no sense to release BB PC when all the fans are busy with Elden Ring. If it's ready, you release it now, so the From fans hyped by Elden Ring can cut their teeth on BB.

Reason: make their teeth -> cut

Why tho? Elden Ring has one specific aesthetics when BB has a different one plus their background stories are completely different. IDK, I don't see why it's so strange and knowing the hardcores, a lot of them would buy both.

I would chime in to say that Sony may want to sell Demon's Soul for a longer period of time before introducing another Soulsborne game to PS5. Therefore, it will probably be released right before Elden Ring (November / December) or half year after it, depending on how much an influencing factor ED is to Sony.

This also tells me that indie devs have to question wherever or not to even bother with a console version of their game if they don't get payed for console timed exclusive, you can see a ton of indie games coming to one of the consoles (Switch/PS/Xbox) and Steam.
Eeeeh
I want drm-free installers please, so indies releasing on gog, itch, etc. is better IMO. One of the benefits of PC gaming is having options.
Like shoot
I can go buy Sleepy dogs on GOG and have a back up of Wei Shen's crime drama exploits.

One of my favourite bugs bunny cartoons. Entirely sung in the style of Die Walkure. Very surreal when I watched it as a kid.
yup, it's really really good ... i absolutely love it!

Two point hospital was just pure nostalgia for the old theme games, i wonder if they will do a park one.
no, we already have plenty of great park games (especially Parkitect) ... what we REALLY need is Two Point Movie Studio

DO IT, YOU COWARDS!!! :negative-blob:

Because it's a niche genre based around mechanics and feel morso than a specific setting. Sekiro has a very different setting, but its playerbase intersects very strongly with DS's. Likewise for Bloodborne, for the subset that has a PS4. (Those are assumptions that seem reasonable to me based on interactions with other players of those games; I'm not sure how to validate them; you'd need the games lists of a large number of players)

And yes, a lot of hardcores would buy both,... eventually. Might take a good while to get bored of ER. Might not be full price anymore.

The point is, if last year's leaks were true, then it would be strange if the BB port were not yet ready. If it is, why wait? Even if you grant ER might not be an obstacle, it's still not a reason to wait.

Possibly (The obvious solution is to release PC first? No? Sony? One can dream.).

Not sure how delaying a port that's already done by a year (at that point) will maximise earnings when all is said and done. Souls fans with a PS5 already have or will buy Demon's Soul, that's pretty much the system seller for them.

One factor is that Demon's Souls being a remake is much more expensive to make than a Bloodborne remaster, so the former would probably be prioritized. Not sure if Sony sits on finished games, but I imagine a console maker would try to adjust their own release schedule as good as possible. Like how Nintendo was rumored sitting on Metroid Prime Trilogy or Mother 3 localization for a long time due to "reasons".

Of course, all these are pure speculations. I am just not too optimistic about it being an "imminent" release.

Those Elden Ring screens look like bullshots. And just to be clear I am graphical whore but I won't skip good game if graphics are not best. But I expect bit more from Elden Ring visually.

Also

There's clearly the usual lod bias and shadow resolution/distance tweak going on in my opinion.

Yo, anybody received a mail from Humble about getting the CIV6 New Frontier Pass for 10$?
If I follow through from the mail I land on the Humble store page, but it's priced 32.99£.

Wonder if it's some kind of Humble Choice hiccup?
I'm on pause this month; maybe that discount is for active subscribers only and somehow the mail "leaked" to inactive users as well?

You will see the discounted price during checkout.
And the discounted price is different on different regions. Here is an explanation
The coupon in question provides a discount to the USD price of the Civilization VI - New Frontier Pass, bringing the price to $10. This comes to a total discount of $29.99 USD. $29.99 is then converted into the currency to which the account is tied. Instead of seeing the equivalent of $10 USD, you receive the same discount of $29.99 USD towards the total price of the item.

I want to apologize again for any frustration this has caused. We could have been clearer in our messaging, and we are taking steps to avoid this sort of confusion in the future. We do hope you enjoy the coupon, and please reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.

oh my shit

Pardon me for smugly pointing I was the first to mention just how fantastic this game was going to be.
Wandersong was amazing and just by playing the small demo we got back then I got the same feeling of amazement and unbridled joy I experienced with his first game.

I was wrong about the year...

Gungrave was revealed last year, they just picked it up for publishing. No new footage though.

A quick question : it used to be that Gamersyde uploaded lossless versions of trailers on their site. It seems this is no longer or case, or am I missing something?

I kind of want to get it on PS5 so I have a reason to turn on my console this weekend. Gamefly shipped Ratchet yesterday and it won't be here until Tuesday at the earliest.

Yes it was the first Thief game I played. I tried the others laters but didnt warm up to them.
I think the biggest crutch Thief 4 has is its name. Ive said this before, as well. It has problems, sure, but it wouldve fared better had it been its own IP, because the comparisons would not have been there. People had a clear image of what a Thief game was supposed to be and Thief 4 was just different..Going in fresh, without that burden, I liked it!
I'm with you on the art direction, it was too drab.. and it didnt have enough locale variation, either. Also, at launch it had some glaring sound issues, not sure if they managed to fix it. But despite all its flaws, I enjoyed my time with it greatly :) (and according to Steam, I played it for 65 hours)

they probably got tired of begging publishers for high-bitrate versions of the trailers every single time one was released
