None of you name your harddrives? Shame

Realistically I name my drives after the brand and model so I have some chance in hell of telling which is which inside my case. p.s. I know you can find that info in disk manager but that's a bit of work.

OK I lied I can get away with just the brand because I do the smorgasbord style

24TB disk space? How huge is your porn collection? 🤔
This poster edit I made a billion years ago describes me.

Though replace mp3 with FLAC.

Additionally it's basically an old archive of all the crap I ever downloaded, pirated tv and movies that I never watch. Just in case I want to watch something that's not on any streaming service just as I want to watch it. It's one of my forever projects to actually categorize, sort and prune the archive, but there's always something better to do. So it just sits there, just in case. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

HEY EVERYONE!!!

it's that time again - PossiblyPudding is playing more SteamFest demos! :D

Might be doing some more demos in about 10 minutes. I got a late start today and have kind of been scrambling around trying to get ready during most of it. We'll figure it out as we go I'm sure. So feel free to stop by and see some potential chaos in real time if that sounds like something that's up your alley! :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye:

Deckard needs to be powerful enough to run Alyx standalone. It will be hard but Valve needs to code to the metal to make it happen. And if they can do that the device should be powerful enough to run almost every steamvr game that way. Also the headset will be sold out for months n months n months if its anywhere near 400-500$. You might as well not even bother trying to reserve it.

It will more than likely be the other way around. People may skip Soul Hackers because they know P5R is on the horizon.

Unknown quantity versus one of the best reviewed games of the last console generation that has been requested for years on every platform under the sun.

That said, I doubt the impact will be more than minimal either way. Soul Hackers 2 will likely not sell great because it seems not even Atlus believes in it, and Steam will become one of Persona 5 Royal’s best platforms and cement the series’ place on PC.
Soul Hackers 2 looks really good. It wouldn't surprise me if it also score 90+ with reviewers.

I did the opposite, migrated from PlayStation ecosystem to PC (mainly Steam) ecosystem.
This was the same for me
Still funny, the game that finally got me to build a PC was Final Fantasy Type 0 HD after it was announced for a PC port. Such a silly thing for me to get excited for in retrospect; now that I've played it, I hate that game.

Insomniac here hyping PC release announced like week ago

Meanwhile Naughty Dog is still dead silent about Uncharted announced like 7 months ago.
They're not gonna hype Uncharted until the port has a concrete release day, Which makes me think that Iron Galaxy is never going to get hired again for a Sony's PC port because there are clearly some issues going on behind doors. I wonder who's working on the TLOU1 Remake PC port because I'm not sure is going to be Naughty Dog themselves. :thinking-face:

If I need to bet I would actually say Naughty Dog because they will release Factions day and date on PC and PS5 so they need PV porting experience.

i have now gotten the first me-friendly game, where i can just open up steam, and it boots up automatically just as i want, exactly how i want it, with no problems and bugs, and i am frankly very happy

the one thing i don't like is the fact that you can't add custom descriptions, which really sucks a lot if you want to give it that authentic vibe; for me, the next best thing of playing a game on the preferred platform, is at least playing the game in a way that makes it seem like it has always belonged there like a port of sorts, but this lack of description just makes me go blurgrgkdgksd

None of you name your harddrives? Shame
sure, they're named "root", "two" and "extr" :p

say, lash, how many games do you have on steam? :p

Only took them 30 years to realize that
the mindset of "exclusives=the way to go" is still very much engrained in many companies selling stuff. and even individual content creators. seen plenty artists going the "this print has a limited run, will never be reprinted; get yours now or forever miss out" route. people think fomo (fear of missing out) sells. and it probably does, but it really shouldnt.

I did the opposite, migrated from PlayStation ecosystem to PC (mainly Steam) ecosystem.
I went from DOS > Windows > Linux > Windows again > back to Linux ;) never played on consoles primarily, and only ever owned one myself, a used PS3 (and I barely used that)

And here I was the other day feeling like king shit when i added my first 2tb drive (for a total of ~3.25)... god damn..
I think it brought me more joy to buy my first 2tb ssd drive (one of my current sata drives), than to finalize this setup. Don't go overboard with this shit, it is pointless. I think I have most games that I actually want to play installed om my 0.5 tb Steam deck.
Edit: Lol, of course I am sick and in denial. My Steam deck had 1.5 tb when I checked ...

I think my drives will be enough for a while. I try to only keep games i'm actively playing installed so I'll probably never use all of either of them. My htpc on the other hand...

Man actually having this collection with mgs4 on Steam would be a dream come true.

I recommend you to play PS2 version with PCSX2 instead of HD Edition witch RPCS3 cause those versions are trash, you can get better graphics and framerate with PCSX2.

Listening to the Pete Hines gamespot interview about Starfield

And he says you can basically dock other ships, kill the crew and steal/flyaway with the thing lol

Also you can spend 1000 hours just customizing and building ships.

The game is gonna be a disgusting time sink.

I thought the only problem with the HD Collection was mostly loading times from loading off of a bluray disc, which shouldn't be a problem when emulating. I can't find any info on lower quality assets anywhere. Could you provide a source or elaborate any? Don't mean to doubt you just, I've never heard this before. Only seen this image go around once.

also you should totally play Metal Gear Ac!d if you haven't already. Fun game.

to be completely fair, this hd collection took me like ages to install, and from the few minutes i tried it out, works pretty fine (plus it was a hell to download it, it's 21 gigs ffs), and based on that image, looks pretty alright to me honestly

my only question is how i would get an actual widescreen going for pcsx2, as i'm currently getting P3FES going on, and i don't like the look it is giving me with the stretched one two punches

Worth noting that I think some of the nightly builds come with the widescreen patches included. You just need to check off to turn on widescreen. Can't confirm this for sure since I've been using P3FES widescreen on my steamdeck, which has a really neat emulation installer someone made that takes care of everything for you, so maybe they just included it.

i dont think mine was one of those builds, i'll get that fix probably, just gotta download it on my proxy laptop as i am frankly afraid of going on any sites except for the ones i know for certain are alright, and then putting them onto this laptop with an external drive

Also is the ps2 version of MGS3S locked at 30 fps? Does it have a 60 fps patch on PCSX2?
Well HDCollection only works 60fps on cutscenes and some areas and this causes framerate drops.

about that:

IT WOULD BE SO FUCKING FUNNY IF THIS IS PC (STEAM) AND THE OTHER ONES GO EGS

At least I expect consistency and I think Epic secured everything FF7 related but we shall see hahha

Maybe they'all announce FF7R on Steam as well
It'll be even funnier to see Crisis Core on Switch without the remake
