What does 'open' mean? That people will be able to hear my anime openings when using them?
Oh good question, not sure if it's that or the fact that you will hear your environment.
Closed is better for that, but while I will curse like a sailor when I discover that I still can hear my cat going cray cray, I'm really not sure I would like the feel of being closed off to the world.

First google result because I'm the worst lazybum.
'Closed headphones are designed to isolate you from external ambient noise to varying degrees. ... Open headphones are designed to allow audio leakage out of the earpieces. They don't block out ambient noise. However, open-back models can often sound more airy, clear or spacious versus their closed counterparts.'

Why does this look like Death Stranding but with cars.
But you can't get out of the car to take a piss ! Checkmate !

Unfortunate that dev like this one make it really hard for us to love them, because as I alluded earlier, it looks nice in multi.
I obviously closed the youtube video because looking at four strangers coordinating their trajectory and getting out of the mud seemed very let's watch paint dry, but with friends.... :coffee-blob:

It's the latter. Open allows you to still hear what's going on around you rather than something like noise canceling where you hear nothing or next to nothing.

Also as the google result says it does work in reverse as well so some of your audio will bleed through but it's far less than you would think.

no discount ... roflmao!

I've got mixed feelings on this, atm.

Being a huge Mundane Vehicle Sim (tm.) nerd (Farming Simulator, Euro Truck, etc.), I'm part of the OG crew who picked up Spintires back at launch in 2014. I'll even take it a step further and say that I had the dumb game pre-ordered before it even landed.

So when SnowRunner was announced EGS exclusive, I was appropriately gutted. The only other such example that burned as much was Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, another personal fave going back to series debut.

Somewhere along the line I simply put the whole 1-year delay thing behind me and just got on with it.

Fast forward to lttp Steam launches and now I'm just finding myself...ambivalent.

RG: Outlaw eventually made it to Steam and I never bit. I just don't care anymore.

Now SnowRunner is here and I'm feeling much the same.

Oh I may pull the trigger on either one. Hell, it could even be tomorrow if the mood strikes and I've had a few.

But it's just so strange to watch would-be, no-brainer Day One pickups just come and go without personal fanfare or desire to even engage.

I'm sure SnowRunner will do just fine on Steam. It was a big EGS hit after all. And it's not like they need my puny dollar contribution.

It's just wild how the EGS-element of these release cycles has effected my attitude over random titles of (great) interest. And I ain't even mad about it.

I will have to recommend open ear. Unless you live in some crazy noisy area that your gaming place is noisy. I currently use Drop: Passions lead here paired with a blue yeti. I use to use closed and noise cancelling. So in my opinion go open if you can.

The main reason to pre-order is to get pre-order stuff. That's why I didn't pre+order Days Gone.

By the way I look forward to tomorrow to see used reviews for the game and compare those to HZD and what Sony has learned from that experience.

Played through some parts of the tutorial just fine. But I had some stuttering.

For reference, the first gaming headset on the site I browse, the HyperX Cloud Flight, is 120 euros.
I'm pretty certain that barring a huge technical misconception, the Sennheiser will be leagues better. But yeah, no mic.
I use AKG K240 MKII headphones with a cheap Webcam/Microphone mounted on my monitor. Works well enough, but of course only if you're mainly gaming in front of the monitor.

I have so far tuned out everything that had to do with Biomutant. Today i watched some videos about it and thought, that is it? There is really nothing new in it. It looks boring. I'm disappointed. And why does it cost 60 Euro?
I feel like we're talking about the different games. For me, Biomutant is like a breath of fresh air in today's gaming environment. Animal protagonist, unique gadgets, crazy mounts, comedic moves, gigantic weird bosses, etc.

KZ ZS5's. Dirt cheap and, as someone who had the aforementioned seenheisers, infuriatingly good. Yes, low end is a little less good but for that price, I don't have a millisecond's regret. Still use them 3 years later and only needed to change the cord (a 5 bucks purchase).

Edit : though my info is outdated now. They've put out a lot of new earbuds and the market has been shaken up. Research needed. The point was that you can probably find outstanding-sounding IEMs for 10-40 bucks.

Edit² : Seems ZS10's or ZSX could serve you well, plus an EQ to fix IEM's issues if they have any. About 40-50 bucks at first glance.

Thinking about picking up Snowrunner over at Greenman. It’s $51 Canadian for the premium edition instead of $75 with tax on Steam.. $50 is an easier pill to swallow lol

Days Gone:
Preloading was fine for me: about 20min.

The way the graphical settings are handled is nothing short of exemplary: you can immediately see the impact of each setting on FPS and image quality on the currently rendered image. I wish more games would do that. Hell, I wish all of them would do that.

It seems for once the UI was designed by somebody who actually thought about the purpose of the settings page and how people interact with them. Amazing. If only that guy could mentor whoever was responsible for the 100ms delay on each click in DarkSouls2's PC version ("Yeah, I'll attack later, I'm waiting a bit in case it's a double click...").

Game running fine on my trusty old 1070: 60 fps at a mixture of high and very high. At least at the beginning of the tutorial.

Apart from the lack of intelligent handling of AZERTY kb (like 97% of games), it seems quite polished technically, at first glance, which bodes well for the (hypothetical) future of a certain other game I'm hoping (yearning, craving) to see on PC. I'm unsure whether I'll like the genre of this one (Zombies? Bikes?? Bikers???) but it definitely goes in my backlog.

I don’t think Biomutant will be for me, but I like its lush nature and that character creator looks very cool.

One thing I don’t quite get is why onomatopoeic pop up text appears in combat sometimes. Seems to clash a little with the otherwise realistic art direction.

Now that Days Gone is out, announce Bloodborne pls. Pls not make me wait till your showcase, unless that will happen this week.
Sony could announce the remaster on PS5 only during their summer showcase and confirm it later for PC.

Tonight I saw that the Sennheiser HD 599 looks well regarded in audio, it's elegant in my eyes, not RGBRGBRGB, it's 149 euros.

Couple that with some form of Blue yeti and I think I would have a pretty nice setup.

Am I wrong ? Purely on the hardware quality ?
Now the question of to buy or not to buy, that's another matter.

* I forgot the review part. I came to the conclusion that I don't have the knowledge to assess the merits of reviews and that they seem to be the most nitpicky motherfucker under the sun. Every product has a glaring fault, every one.
I have those headphones in black, they're great.
Really comfy too.

It's a good, solid game that fits the PC really well. It's just a slow opener, has some iffy cheesy cutscenes and launched with a ton of bugs.
I can see it having legs on PC to be honest.
