Right so here's something I want to state regarding future Highlight threads:
I won't be posting the actual monthly threads on MC due to the release thread mainly doing that. I'd still be putting it up on Era for those titles to get more exposure etc.

I will however be putting up a '2018 in retrospect' Highlight thread and the 2019 Highlight thread.

At the very least I will be posting a 'draft' of the Highlight thread in PC Gaming threads on MC, which you'll see below, that way I can sort it it out before a final release. So have a look at what's in store in the coming weeks

It's a bit odd, they do ship the physical crates to Australia for USD$40 shipping each!

There are some new rules regarding sales tax on overseas purchases in Aus. If you are sending physical/digital goods to Australia, the overseas company has to collect the 10% sales tax and send it to the Australian Government. Ridiculously onerous. I imagine they don't want to have to do it for digital purchases. The law has already resulted in Amazon no longer selling into Australia from its overseas operations. If it's not on Amazon.com.au you can't buy it anymore.
Weird. Amazon.com does collect tax for physical goods sent to EU countries, even if law doesn't require them to. (It does save customer from filling custom reports, so probably due to that).

So here some quick fun facts about making those Highlight threads
1- I use Notepad
2a- To not affect a thread's character limit, I make sure to remove some things, for example here are the URLs for a game and its Steam banner
Code:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/931500/ Touhou_Genso_Wanderer_Reloaded__TOD_RELOADED__TOD_RELOADED/

https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/apps/931500/header.jpg ?t=1542088133
The text after the large spaces gets removed, Steam recognizes those URLs even without them.
2b- I do Ctrl+H and replace any HTTPS with HTTP
3- I make sure to have some spaces between lines and any images to make it easier for me to organize them. In much bigger threads, I would just stick them close to each other.
4- I make sure all [/ur]s are in place, with a success rate of 90%~

over 5000 wishlisted games? Do you wishlist every game there is?
My wishlist is only 49 games, just removed some game this morning
nope ... just the ones i want to play someday ... not even joking

BTW, all I have seen of the new leisure Suit Larry paints it awkward and super mediocre... It's not a good point and click at all
no, it's not ... the reviews are pretty much all positive (mostly German ones)

I haven't played it yet, despite owning it (to much to finish already ;)), but like lashman already mentioned, the reviews have been surprisingly positive, both on Steam (Very Positive) and on the gaming press that covers the genre, like:
Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry Review| Adventure Gamers
Leisure Suit Larry - Wet dreams don't dry - Adventure Corner

And even some "mainstream" gaming press:
Review: Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry

People were highly sceptical before launch, since the promotional materials were a bit underwhelming and Al Lowe wasn't involved, but after launch the reactions have been very positive.

I take it as a point of pride when I find a game in the store that neither Lashman or Five Element Ninja own or have on their respective wishlists. I feel like I've discovered a little known and dimly illuminated corner of the store.

I think you'll need a few more life times to get to those as well as a few more bank accounts.

Gracias. Gotta remember to wishlist it myself.

BTW, Dragon Quest 11 is about as jRPG-ass a jRPG can be. If you need your traditional jRPG fix, def. get it during the sale. With the OST mod it becomes a lot more fun to play IMO.

Dragon Quest 11 is such a crazy game. It's like they made a list of all the things you typically get to see in a JRPG, overworld traversal in a ship, kings and castles, and so forth, and they put it all in the game. And in high definition 3D as well. The scenery looks so great, and they clearly saved no expense on the graphical side of things. (The combat is still very traditional Dragon Quest, so it might not be everyone's cup of tea)
Just, for the love of god, and to piss of a total twat, get the Orchestral Music Mod. You can't have such a modern looking game with terrible midi synth (like, it even makes the midi renditions of prior Dragon Quest sound like a masterpiece)

Yeah, kinda surprised with the high praise this game is getting but reading the reviews and impressions looks like it's the real dead for this gen JRPG. Probably going to buy it this holiday sale.

yeah I've never played DQ before so my first thought for DQXI was "wow this is what modern FF with classic game design would be like, and why didn't they make one like this yet?"

I've only ever played DQVIII on the PS2 but that was enough for me to look forward to another opportunity to revisit the series. I'd hoped to get around the the DS game (IX i think?) at some point but XI looks like it could be just the tonic to drab and joyless gaming that can be so easy to encounter.

I can't remember but I think IX has some multiplayer elements and that's why I didn't play it.

On the other hand, DS has remakes for IV, V and VI, and those are awesome.

My wishlist is 4 times larger than the number of my owned games

I played a bit of DQ XI through family sharing and man it was really charming. It also made me nostalgic for some reason, which is surprising for me since I had never played any DQ game nor have I played any of the classic jrpg games.

Interesting strange.
I've no clue what's happening story wise so far (typical Suda) but gameplay is neat
well at least there's that :p yeah, it's a good game ... but the story is kinda hard to follow ... and "decode", lol

Oh man, Killer7 is such a strange game! :/
I recently listened to an episode of Watch Out For Fireballs (spoilers obviously) where they discussed Killer 7, and impressions were generally favourable. Certainly they liked it enough for me to look into getting a copy for my PS2...the Steam release was certainly a pleasant surprise. Although I'm not sure how capable I am of getting my head around one of the 7 being called Kevin Smith.

is the gameplay okay though? I always wanted to play it because of the craziness but I also wondered if I'd enjoy the actual gameplay
So far the gameplay and style are hooking me more than the story.

Best way to describe the gameplay is like an oddly railroaded FPS with something similar to RE4's aiming mechanics and a little light puzzle stuff.

I'm just catching up and seeing that a bunch of Lucasarts stuff got dropped?

I give up now on ever getting my backlog to a manageable level :-/
It's terrible. You barely complete half a game when 20 others you wanna buy appear on the store. How are you supposed to deal with this? I feel like Hansel, being feed games by Gabe the wizard. Let's hope he doesn't plan to eat me in the end.

Ehm actually not sure about number? I got a steam account on the release of hl2 on the 16th of November. :D I kind of thought it might be the same with alot of people?

You can use sites like Steam ID Finder to get your different steam ids, in particular the first one ends with a number which is lower the older your account is. I remember a guy posting a 4 digit one which means his account was one of the very first.

Btw, sent you a friend request :D

Aaah, I think I was quite late to the party, I vague memory of having a steam account before this one which I lost, to do with hl1 multi-player when they switched to steam.

Card Idle Remastered is a WPF remake of Idle Master, developed by jshackles

AlexanderSharykin/CardIdleRemastered

Works fine for me the last time I used it.
