I'm not really one to celebrate the "misery" of others, but I really have to laugh at these news about Human Head.

Don't get me wrong, I liked their games, and I even pre-ordered Rune II from their website (the most expensive version they had) when pre-orders started last year (which I refunded after the EGS deal). But, I really dodged a bullet here.

When they announced the exclusivity deal, they kept going on about how this deal would allow them to increase the scope of the game, and deliver the product they wanted, and to grow their studio. That, and they kept telling me how this would be awesome for them, how the EGS store, and deal, was awesome for me as well (since, among others things, would ensure a long period of free new content and updates), and they would even give me additional free copies of the game (on EGS) if I kept my pre-order.

Yeah, clearly, I made the right call. :)

Lol, do you guys/girls think Tim knew about that?
He probably knew HHS were in dire straights when he offered them the EGS deal. And technically they delivered, Rune 2 is a game that was released on EGS. Terms met. That its a sorry looking game that is likely not gettting any support is a whole other issue.

I doubt Tim was drinking highballs with the Bethesda bigwigs toasting to Bethesda's plan to own HHS through attrition coming true though. That's a whole other level of dirty pool for him.

Man, the Windows Insider preview update installed yesterday (marked as 10.0.19013.1122) fucked with my computer so much. After like 45 minutes of updates I found my computer stuttering like crazy, even after a couple of restarts. The indexer process was going nuts with my C: drive at 99% write non-stop until I killed it. Games would straight up not run, and some that did stuttered like hell. Underlords crackled its way to 44fps and the frame timings looked like it was on life support. Never seen anything like it.

Never rolled back to a previous install so fast. If you are asking why am I getting beta builds at all, first of all I agree with you, I don't need that shit in my life, second, I think I turned on insider preview for the xbox beta app earlier this year, or maybe you needed it to sign up for Halo stuff (which I never got anyway), but yeah... I'm happy with no computer killing updates :p

I'm not really that computer saavy other than building my own and installing my own stuff so knowing why stuff behaves a certain way can be a headache.

Rune was what literally got me excited to play
this is confusing
i am pretty sure that Human Head just released Rune 2 on Early EGSess

Update or blog post from HHS

I'm sad a bit, rune was my favorite multiplayer game and I found my gaming group I was with for like 10+~ years from that game
Super disappointed in how Rune 2 was in the Alpha and I had to cancel my pre-order because of money problems and Seeing what was the equivalent of a really junky effort going into it I guess the recent announcements make sense. Just them trying to stay open with the lights on.

That Rune 2 thing is hilarious on way too many levels. Still have yet to see a review on a gaming site btw.

Yeah, no, get out of there asap (not sure if you can right now), I'm sure MS gets some use out of the telemetry data of f'd systems but why bother if you aren't writing bug reports and aren't really testing it? Even I (an expert!1) usually ain't touching the Windows Insider program with my main OS.

Alright Li Kao I stepped up my red wine game, bought a bottle for 3 euros!:D
Me too ! 3.50 :partyblob:
But I'm half convinced this is the same shit that used to be 2.50 and just a result of the usual customer ass-fuckery.

Top tip - If you open a cheap bottle of wine and let it breathe for a day it (sometimes) tastes a bit better!

There is such a thing as too cheap though.

Indeed, I like wine but am not a total snob and you can get good stuff under 10€. But a) you gotta know what's what and b) I have yet to drink anything under 5€ that I'd recommend, that shit's usually the Bad Rats of wine and I'd honestly rather not buy a bottle for a week and save up. Depends on the country of course, no idea what to buy in the US for example and if wine is more expensive or cheaper there.

Since we are talking about anything but games ( :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes: ), fun fact: I don't drink alcoholic beverages. Nothing. Not even beer.
I have an insane dislike for the smell of alcoholic beverages, that makes me not even want to try them.

At my wedding, I was "forced" to drink a small amount (less than a third of a glass) of champagne, and I had to drink almost a litre of water and coke to wash the taste off my mouth. :giggle:

Yeah, I turned it off but it still wants to download the 1909 insider update (which is different from the one it installed afaict). I just paused updates in the meantime.

I'm buying an NVME in a few days (hoping for a good BF deal) so I might just do a clean install if anything goes wrong.

Same. I only drink Water and Soda. My stomach cannot physically handle alcohol.

I do usually drink a bottle during three days, and I just leave it in the open, expect for the cork, but I don't fridge it. And yeah I do enjoy as much rest of the days as the first.

Thankfully, I think in France cheap wine can be alright. But yeah under 2.5 it's a disaster but already by 3 euro it's enjoyable. Best wine I ever had was a 10 year old wine I bought for only 9 euro.

My uncle died a few years ago and he was a bit of a wine collector and so we had a few bottles of fancy stuff which we drank. Some of them were very delicious and smooth but to be honest a few were no different to any cheepo bottle.

I think at a certain point wine is a bit like art, Some of its worth the extra price, some of its just pretentious people inflating its worth.

This is seriously disturbing. The Dark Souls of metaphor.

edit - I shouldn't have googled mouths for eyes.
Haha. I see you caught my post before I had time to fix it.

It seems I can't place ( and ) near the :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes: smiley, since it results in what you saw. ;)

Haha yeah, I heard of a study about wine and it's prices. People generally thought a wine tasted better if they knew the price was higher, no matter what the actual quality of the wine was.

I drink wine, but not beer. I hate the taste of beer. I really want to drink beer, but the taste is terrible.

Ive never been drunk in my life despite that I drink at times (usually at parties), I like to have full control over my body and actions.

Imma bout to blow Meta's mind;

I don't like wine. I do not like the taste of ANY wine.

I love beer and the only beer I can't drink are beers that had some contact with wine during either aging or production.

No wine is of any quality, its all sour as shit.

Beer has enough variety that there is no real "beer taste".

Wild ales taste nothing like stouts which taste nothing like saisons.

Well, not a single beer I have tasted has tasted good enough for me to keep drinking more than 1 sip.

The only beer I have come close to liking is almond beer.

I'm on same *boat". Never could tolerate the smell or taste of alcohol. Made for some annoying moments in my college years because people couldn't understand that I simply didn't like it.

Thankfully it got better as I got older (and my friends less drunk :P)

I'm also a great alcohol "detector" since I can smell or taste even the smallest quantity on food and chocolates.

This this this this this this this

The sheer variety of flavor available is second only to spirits and liquors and far exceeds wine.

Btw, wth are ntirates in wine anyway?

I will admit to not really having a taste for Quadbock beers or certain Imperial Stouts, just because calorie content. I am ok with smoked beers as a whole, my bro brought a couple of smoked beers from Germany over a few weeks ago.
