How is AoE 2 DE compared to HD version? I have downloaded the game on game pass just to check out if the game is good/working so I can buy it on Steam, but haven't had the time to play it yet due to Fallen Order.

They updated their article because the source was mistakenly from TGA 2017.

Regardless I still believe there is a chance that Valve will announce HLVR there.

While Disco Elysium is probably the GOTY, Star Wars is my 'expectations vs reality' GOTY. I expected something else but I'm actually very impressed by this game so far. (Mo Astray comes second in that particular category, btw)
nobody expected Jedi Souls :p

I'm sure people would have expected better if marketing did a better job at showcasing the game.

Hey here's this cool Sekiro/Metroidvania Star Wars game made by some really competent devs, let's showcase it like every other fucking boring AAA game around.

So kinda random question but, do we know if Microsoft plans to do a Definitive Edition of Age of Empries III too?

Holy crap the Hyperbollocks being spouted by Trolls and Souls Maniacs in Fallen Order discussions is hilarious. Sure it's not going to be to everyone's taste but fucking lol at some of the threads and replies.

It's been hinted at/rumoured since they started talking about doing the remasters but we've never had any definitive statement. It also doesn't have the following that AOK does/did after release.

They announced AoE 2 DE and 3 DE together back in 2017, and revealed that Tantalus Media is working on 3 DE earlier this year, but no mention of it afterwards. Here's the quote from an interview with MS' Adam Isgreen:

Adam said:
We do have an internal team but we're really providing oversight to our wonderful development partners - our team at Forgotten Empires that made Age of Empires Definitive Edition and is working on Age of Empires II - Definitive Edition, but we also have a group in Australia - Tantalus Media - that's working on Age of Empires III
Also, when they announced that the AoE definitive editions were coming to Steam they mentioned 3 DE again.

Its.... a thing... for sure. Its a sipper and my limit is one 12oz (355ml) bottle. Going to a pint is pushing it. It works well when its a heavy, high alcohol beer that's meant to be sipped.

No one is smoking a coors light bc coors lights are for chugging.

That wild ales does it taste like a cherry lambic?
Wasn't as sweet or tart as the cherry ones I've had.

I have noticed that. Actually when I first played the game I didn't understand what people meant about it being souls like. In the first part of the game there is nothing really like that. I guess there is sort of the blocking thing In the beginning of the game that is sort of like Sekiro but that it. And then you get to the second planet and then it makes sense why people say it's a souls like game.

I'm still confused about blocking in this game, sort of like with Code Vein. When you play a fromsoft game you know when you blocked and when to parry. In Code Vein parrying is really weird and doesn't make sense since there is this sort of animation that goes along with it (you have to charge up in order to parry).

It seems that in Jedi you can parry melee attacks like you can In Sekiro (with a sword) what I have issues with though is blaster shoots. I thought you just had to Tim your parry but do you just block and they auto reflect? Because I always try to time them and right after reflecting I always get hit by the next one. If you have to keep blocking this would explain that one tool you get later on.

Volvo you cucks
Give me regional pricing already :weary-face:

Like when Luke was on dagobah.
What about Dogabah?

Isn't the game already set to be like $30USD during Black Friday in just a few weeks. I'm sure that people will like the game but it sort of seems that people that are not huge Shenmue fans that have been waiting years for this game will like it? Otherwise why have the embargo lifted days after the release?
Epic doesn't have reviews so you won't be able to see people complain about the game.

So RGL is useless now?
Is the launcher still having issues? I heard some of the issues have been fixed. I would hope that Rockstar puts a notice on Steam about how demanding the game is (or make a chart or something) because it's mainly that and the Rockstar Launcher that people had issues with. Otherwise get ready for all the money to roll in.

I have spent over 6 hours on Jedi and I am now almost done on my third planet.

I have noticed that there seems to be some technical issues with the game but in general it seems that this is more of an issue on consoles. If you want to play 1440p on Xbox One X you have to play at 30fps.....ya no thanks. I watched the DF video and I don't think I could play the game like that. The 30fps made it looks like a FMV and I didn't like that. There is a performance mode where you can play with unlocked fps and it's 1080p but the issue is that it averages at around 45fps on the X. So it seems that consoles won't be able to play 60fps.

Remember if you want to play a souls like game at 60fps or higher PC is always the way to go (which explains why they sell so well on PC) by the way was Code Vein a locked 60fps on consoles? I don't think DF ever looked at that game despite it being popular. I guess that's a game most people didn't expect to do that well, it's still on the top sellers on Steam right now.
If there is finishing then it's a JRPG. If there is no finishing then it's not a JRPG. If COD added fishing it would be a JRPG in my eyes

I meaaaaan not saying they did a perfect job but to be honest many, MC not excluded, didn't bother to pay any attention to begin with and just dismissed the whole game because it's from EA and/or Star Wars, ignoring in-depth info we got during E3. I'm not surprised those are now surprised but they shouldn't be, at least not to this extent.

Yeah im struggling a bit with the combat. Im enjoying the game but haven't really sussed out blocking/parrying/countering. I never played Seriko and although Souls game are some of my favourites i wouldn't say I was that good at them. I always need to summon to get through most of the bosses. Ive put Jedi difficulty down to the 2nd lowest but to be honest might just play it on easy. Glad you can change the difficulty mid-game.

I don't think you can parry consecutively that fast so if two blaster shots are coming at you, yes, timely press the button and hold it there (not depress and then press and hold) to parry the first, block the second. Unless you mean you do that and the second still hits you so I guess the parry animation does block you from, er, blocking fast enough again which would suck. I haven't encountered many ranged enemies like that yet. Maybe Force upgrades change this too.

I like the feel of the combat and the overall game (surprisingly, from the tralers/hype I expected it to be some Star Wars themed Uncharted with dodgy melee combat but all the mechanics are actually quite well done, though the story is dumb) but it lacks polish in many of the various side elements and particularly the animations for many actions, yeah they're detailed animations and there's animation blending and IK but it often just looks wrong. Also the facial animations can look wrong and desynced in dialogues, things like that. Too much detail can be bad I guess, I never paid attention to such things in simpler games.

I actually followed much of the in-depth info we got since the announcement and I expected it to be a mediocre cinematic title made with mechanics borrowed from many different games but mainly Uncharted/Tomb Raider and Souls/Sekiro, with the former having a much wider presence than the latter.

Instead, I got a game that is surely inspired by those models but manages to combine their mechanics in its own way in a new product, with great combat, great level design and also great cinematics, which are great when the rest of the game is also good.

I still don't like the main character at all, though. That hasn't changed.

not just hinted , they straight out said whole trilogy will get Definitive editions ... and given the last behind the scenes video for AoE4 . DE for AoE3 is well on the way.
And they even sadi they are not sure about what to do with AoM

Dicey Dungeons sold really well.

…I still don’t really know how to talk about all this. That’s actually why this blog post is so late. I kept trying to write it and getting nowhere.
I tried to keep my expectations low – I’m really proud of this game, but there have been so many indiepocalypse stories in the last few years that I was nervous that it all might go wrong. And I, uh, took some risks. I blew a huge chunk of my Super Hexagon and VVVVVV savings to make this. I was quietly hoping it would do ok, but really I was just hoping that at the very least it wouldn’t end up being a total disaster.
What actually ended up happening is that it shot right past those quiet hopes, and massively exceeded my wildest ones – it’s been by far the biggest and most successful launch of my career. Within just its first month, Dicey Dungeons outsold the lifetime sales of my previous two games on Steam combined.
