If anyone tries these lemme know how they are :d

The game references so far:

  • Baba is You.
  • Obra Dinn.

Anything else I might've missed?

Beat Saber has a ton of reviews on Steam and steamspy has it at 1+ million owners.

So if that game can sell 1 million then Alyx will do 3+ million by the end of next year no problem. Its pretty much the killer app and the attach rate will probably be like BotW + Switch levels of ridiculous. The more interesting part will be if someone releases an affordable VR headset next year and Valve releases some type of multiplayer deathmatch mode for Alyx. The game will sell tons of VR headsets.

Also happy late Turkey day and early black friday everyone 🦃🦃🦃 🍗🍗🍗🦴🦴🦴

Kinda wanted to get Surge 2 at 40% off which is not bad, but then i realized I haven't barely played the first game, so therefore I won't buy it yet.
Screw that -- Surge 2 is so fun! Definitely buy it. I've cut off so many heads already!

My conjecture is that the referenced games are related to their popularity in the Steam Awards votes.
True, but doesn't it take time to make these art pieces? Or does Valve have a general idea of what they want and then have the artist make it over the next few days since the top games will likely not change after day 1.

By the way Tsukumo seems to be having an event where they will be demoing the Valve index. It looks like there is a very large VR/AR/MR conference held in Tokyo and this will be on Dec 4 (which is when the Autumn sale ends?)

Tsukumo by the way is one of the official retail chains in Japan that are selling the Index.

So you have a Japanese company advertising Valves stuff in a place where PC is still rather niche, (so PCVR would be a niche within a niche in Japan).

Soon more devs will start to make more anime VR games (some already have)

Something strange I noticed, the first achievement you get in Children of Morta only has been gotten by 93% of the players, but doesn't steam start to count after you've gotten the first achievement, meaning the first should always be 100%?

I bought Far Cry New Dawn on Steam, on my local uplay client the game is showing up, but if I access my account from the browser or the app, it isnt listed there. Achievements have been unlocking normally but Ubisoft Club challenges are not. Has someone experienced something similar?

Idk but uplay does handle games from steam differently to games from it, ie, I couldn't install ubi games owned on steam from uplay alone (iirc, long ago).

Kind of related but not really: couldn't you drop your CD key into Uplay and you'd get a "native" Uplay version? Or am I thinking of Origin? I want to say they both did that, but I may be getting my wires crossed. For some reason I have several double entries on Uplay, and I'm pretty sure I didn't buy the same games twice.

I've been putting off playing Disco Elysium since getting it yesterday evening... I'm not ready to be hurt again like with Outer Worlds! :disappointed-but-relieved-face:
I'll get around to it... Later today. Definitely. Probably.

One of my XBox One controllers just shat the bed... sorta. The RB button stopped working although I did manage to breathe some life back into it after taking apart the controller and adding some thickness to the plastic lever that pushes down the clicky switch.

Why am I telling you this? Because I already bought a backup. It's that very nice-looking purple Fortnite controller. Don't kill me.

Nowadays some websites offer a way to pay some sort of carbon tax to help offset the carbon footprint of your order.
In order to reach true homeostasis, I too feel like I should do something to offset the consequences of my actions (i.e., giving money to Tim).

Wow, that is one slick looking controller. Mine's still chugging along, but the d-pad misses a lot of inputs. Thankfully I'm one of those heathens who plays 2D games with the analogue stick.

My left trigger was missing occasional inputs as well. You don't notice it too much but in Pinball it really mattered.

This black Friday I'm resisting the temptation to purchase a g920 steering wheel to play super-fast and super-competitive racing games (ETS2, ATS :steam_pigblanket: ). I just got an Oculus Rift S so I must resist the temptation.

I voted 1 to 3 million copies because I really think HL:Alyx has a good chance of exploding in popularity, not only that but also, knowing the estimated numbers of PCVR headset owners I think 1 Million is not THAT far away as a goal for the first year of existence. plus we don't really know how fast will the adoption of this tech be next year, it might be faster or might be lower, not knowing that doesn't make easy to know, however, as for now, 1 to 3 million copies is an achievable goal for HL:A

So far i've bought nothing in the American Holiday Seal and i haven't played anything for a few days. Instead i've been wasting my evenings watching Rocket Baby Dolls or Run Button's LPs of Myst and Journeyman Project. FMV bliss.

I'm going to clear some of my 80% complete games and queue up a few FMV games myself.

It's in my "purchase before 2020" list too, but it will have to wait until mid Dec.
Thanks, Mor. (y)

It's understandable not buying it right now, the game is not on sale, and it's a time of the year where people have limited budgets.
But even wishlisting it should, at least, give some information to the developer that there's interest in the game.

Their previous one had such poor sales and forum activity, the developer took it as a lack of interest in their brand of games, and was thinking about skipping PC/Steam for their next titles.

---

By the way, I just noticed: we are not friends on Steam!
I just sent you an invite. ;)

I saw that, since I posted about it last night, quite a few people from my friends list purchased, or added Dandy Dungeon - Legend of Brave Yamada - to their wishlist.

Thanks a lot, guys! :cat-heart-blob:

I think Brad from GB played Dandy Dungeon during an Unprofessional Friday recently. It looked interesting, shame about Songbird as it looked fantastic but it's not a game i'd be any good at unfortunately.

bobnowhere BlackRainbowFT Where did you get them?! I'm a sucker for fancy colour controllers so if anyone knows a good place in the UK to order this stuff then let me know! :blobdrool:

1 - invite accepted ^^

2 - I'm not waiting for a sale, I'm waiting for my income haha I'm planning to buy a good amount of games in December even if they are not on sale, while black bird wasn't my cup of tea, Yamada is and I already told Onion that I was very happy of seeing it coming to PC, of course if MOON comes too it will be a blast.

Onion deserves love.

It's my birthday, I am in full existential crisis, can't afford to replace my 970 nor buy a new monitor or a VR headset (end of 2019 : everything was 500 bucks), can't even afford discounted games, and to top it off I'm freezing my butt over here. So cold that I can't shake the feeling that I left a window open, even when I fully know I didn't.

What is it ? I just get an error.

Edit - The quote is working. Odd.

Both are.
Gamesplanet was even one of the few stores that offered Bandai Namco games with, not only their pre-order bonuses, but also purchase points to register at their website (even Steam purchases wouldn't get you the later).
