Shouting this out, since it's not exactly clear - if you're in the market for a wireless gaming mouse, do not get the G903 "SE". Despite the "MSRP" being the same as the G903 Hero, and being a newer SKU, it's literally the old sensor (less battery life/less accurate) rebadged for Black Friday so they could advertise it as being "50% off". It's shady.

Whaaaaaat?! It's by our lords and saviours, the greatest and bestest developer EVER and those by which EVERY other game ever released will be compared too, FROM Software and you dare doubt them?!
Eh, fuck FROM for Sekiro skill ceilling !
Thaaat being said, I’m playing Star Wars and while the game has a solid combat system, I can’t help but feel it‘s a shadow of what FROM produces. Like a cheap knock out. Serviceable.

I ended up buying one of their Black Friday SKUs. Th G502 hero but I would imagine that even at $35USD that it will be a big step up from what I currently have.

So I think I have done all of my shopping now. Important note make sure to never through away wires, I now have to buy some new ones because of it. As it turns out my PSU actually has an unused modular port that I have not been using, but I have to buy a replacement which cost me $10USD (I also got some extra SATA 6GB cables as well for my new drives and those were about $8USD). I ended up going with the 1TB 860 EVO instead of the Black 2TB WD drive because it doesn't look like the price of the Black WD is going down anytime soon. I also ended up getting the Intel 660p which cost me about $220USD in total (and it seems that Amazon is sold out of them, I am guessing that because I will not be using the 660ps at full speed that I will not need a heat shield thing for them). I also ended up getting the Sony CH700 headphones as well.

Well I am broke, the only other thing that I plan to spend money on now is anime figures, but the place that I normally buy them from seems to be having this deal where they are not butting the figures on sale per say but instead just giving out more rewards points for buying stuff (so $100USD figure will get you $50USD of store credit). Maybe they will have some figures on sale that will finally get me to buy some more.

I was thinking of buying Halo on Steam but since I have Game Pass Ultimate I will not need to buy it in order to play it (I just need storage space). I am still waiting to hear back from MS about my Spotify and Discord bonus stuff. Speaking of Spotify I was hoping that I could just get the 6 month trial and use that instead of having to pay for Spotify for a while.

Still pisses me off that SE used the XB1/Switch release of FFXII Zodiac Age as an excuse to "reset" the price for the game on PC. FFS the game hasn't dipped below $30 since 2018! I just hope it dips to $25 during the winter sale... I want to buy it already!

Remember when Square Enix held a celebrative livestream to announce the cancellation of all future promised content, all future promised post-launch support and the lead dev quitting?

That will forever remain one of the greatest moments in Videogames.
It's amazing how off the rails the game was and how it fell even further apart post-release despite fantastic sales and decent reception from both critics and fans. A successful singleplayer game's DLC plan going to shit was unprecedented. A lot of people don't realise how bad things were behind the scenes. I can't find the original 4chan leak from early 2016, but GAF had a summary. It was so outlandish that a lot of people were in denial for months.

">>Nobody is touching it right now. There's only like 2 hours "playable" on ps4 and xbox version barely turns on. Nobody is thinking about PS4k, just porting and optimizing for PS4. Xbox build is like 3 weeks behind.

It was finished and you could play it start to finish on the high end PCs they made it on, but the PS4 port is a mess, and they started design and re-writes after the normal wrap because it's going over like s*** with people, like pick up shots to fix a movie.

It's not normal. The lock for english voice recording is supposed to be in 3 weeks, but they keep re-writing lines. Everybody is nervous as f*** about Sept30 release. Expect big day 1 patch

There's a full script as of nov, its just changing because it's a mess.
opens 10 years in the future fighting ifrit
real game starts, being sent off for wedding
on the way hear city got invaded
set out to collect weapons of dead kings to be powerful and take back crystal
also have to catch up to luna who's waking up summons
when you get to luna red haired guy kills her
everybody is sad for a while
red hair guy reveals he's 2000 years old
Noctis has to sleep for 10 years to gather magic into kings ring to fight him
Noctis gets out and the group fights him in main city
Ifrit first, then normal red head, then monster version of him
Noctis wins
that's it.

Nothing they've changed recently would be interesting. They've got a lot of Luna/Noctis flashbacks they made to be thrown around in the last act of the game and they don't know what to do with them really

Cross-posting from the thread about sales. I have found two weird games as I was checking the wishlist of someone else.

One is a game about photography and mushroom hunting.

The other looks similar to 80 Days. What is funny is you can stack the sale discount with another coupon to make it 75% off instead of 50% off.

^Demo is live.
The color palette is amazing. I love how it looks. The game controls like a dream. The platforming and combat feel good, and the bit of feedback is nice. I do wonder what type of game this'll be. Metroidvania? Level based? The demo level felt like it went on forever, probably because there was no map, and the checkpoint system was a bit harsh. I'll have to return to the demo later on today.

Anyway, I'm interested. Thanks for linking it.

They have a twitter page and you can post impressions in the game's forum on Steam if you'd like.
Yeah the level was quite lengthy but just treat it as an early proof of concept kind of thing.

Spent a few hours on Monster Hunter in preparation for THE GRIND*, all is good. I even gave a shit and went in the menus to select a main group.
Imagine the horror when I saw this fucking game had selected Neog** as my main for 60 hours. This is corrected and I'm now, as it should be, a proud hunter of MetaCouncil ! :heroblob:

* I have only played during the halloween event on PC. Didn't even finish the armor as I didn't remember I would have to reforge the shit in expert version. So I have quite a few tickets to farm during this 5 weeks celebration. One or two... :face-with-open-mouth-and-cold-sweat:

One is a game about photography and mushroom hunting.

This is a relaxing game. You gather morels and photograph birds and other animals. You get points for that so you can buy stuff like energy bars, a rain coat, hiking shoes, head lamp, first aid kits, small flags, etc.

Beware of poison ivy and ticks. :)

The maps are small but very detailed.

Playing Half-Life 1 and its kind of amazing how twenty years later linear games are still pretty much that game. Of course the things it introduced got more refined as time went on but the overall structure is the same.
All this talk made me install Half-Life once again :p
Don't know exactly how many times I have played it.

At least it was cheap but do know that the G502 is big, heavy and clunky and goes counter towards what many consider a good gaming mouse in 2019. Doubt that the new hot stuff will get good discounts (for Germans: XM1 Endgame 39,99€) but for example the G403 is still a far superior choice imo. Ahhh and just saw that www.pcgamingrace.com will do a Black Friday sale tomorrow. Their Model O and O- are excellent and priced reasonably.

But more importantly: Alarm, Alarm! Do not use random cables with modular PSUs, only use the ones that either came with it or 1:1 replacements from the manufacturer. Others might fit but there's a real danger of them frying everything.

Another Indonesian game? Interesting, and it looks great. But tbh, nothing has changed that much since the 90s in here. People still read newspaper and the environment are still mostly stay the same. Well, the difference is that people walk around looking at their phones nowadays, but that's probably it.

Anyway, turns out it's from the same studio that brought these beautiful (and free) short visual games too.

I would disagree as Half Life 1 is far better, but I am biased against most popular mainstream linear games :V

The year is closing to it's end, even the decade is ending.
Are we going to do a GOTY list and/or maybe GOTD (Decade)?
I'm totally going to do both, neither will be numbered, all games will be at a random order but if it's in my list it's because it has been important for me, both GOTYs and GOTGs

I was about to buy 1 year of PS Plus that's on sale at a retailer here until decembers Plus games was announced, Titanfall 2 and some generic looking bike game. What a waste PS Plus has become. Used to sub to it, but when I realized that I don't ever touch the monthly games because I either already own them/played them and if not I can get it on a sale, I don't play online on PS4 and I don't care for the Plus exclusive game discounts.

I let PS Plus lapse about 6 months ago, maybe last year actually, i forget and i obviously haven't noticed any difference given i forget when it lapsed.
I'm not much of an online gamer on consoles and i rarely played the free games and sometimes i'd forget to even claim them so eh, don't really miss it.

I'm still chuckling at the December lineup. Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross 1 aren't bad but at this point bargain bin fodder, that's the best Sony can do for Christmas? Stingy bastards.

Kind of annoying how if you search for something that has a tag you ignored it doesn't show in the drop-down options. Like, I don't want to see anime smut when browsing the store but sometimes you have to look for a game that happens to have the anime tag because people are stupid. And not every game has a demo or dlc to make it a bit faster.

Hmm, I wonder what's happening between my PC and 4K TV but I tried MHW on it and, well, I'm back on the monitor.
I got super pixelated texts, which I solved by setting windows at 4k to match the TV res, but then again MHW was all slow and still relatively ugly. Between shitty win10 updates and weird game specific issue I don't know where to look at.
But it reminds me that I had some res issues with Overcooked on the TV. The game wouldn't change resolution, and I don't know where it's set up but it wasn't pretty either.

Fuck that noise, I need a 1440p monitor :coffee-blob:

Oh look, another PC launcher.

I's funny how the first scene is literally a desktop crowded with tons and tons of launchers just to open ANOTHER launcher, at first I was thinking "I guess this is another GOG G. 2.0 kind of unifying launcher" but nope, it's just another fricking launcher (although this one seems to be oriented to asian markets, still funny)

Gotta love Square-Enix because they have just updated 2 of all the remaining Final Fantasy games, Type-0 and VII, why just those 2? WHO KNOWS but the rest are still non-updated.

Remember that Shouth Park's episode where bank decides their next move by letting a headless chicken decided on a board? well, I think this is exactly the same, they just randomly decide which one will be updated, and not only happens with this company but also Capcom and a lot others.

I have a Corsair PSU and the replacement that I ordered says it's manufactured by Corsair (I got it off Amazon). I also know that Corsair makes fancier cables that you can use as replacements which is what these seem to be.

I don't know if many of you follow US politics but do you remember Carlos Danger (ah the daily show)

Look what a juggernaut franchise can do to push new hardware adoption.
Valve Index is sold out and it doesn’t look good for the future of VR (Kotaku)

I wonder how the Valve index stock thing is being handled, Valve is having them be completely manufactured in China this time aren't they? (Did they also eventually move all of the Steam controller manufacturing to China as well?) Based on the video that came out at the launch of the Index it looked like Valve was at least still manufacturing the Base Stations in the US, and I'm guessing that's because they are not just used on the index but for other things as well.

I'm sort of surprised that the supplies seems to be region dependent, does Valve just have distributors already in other parts of the world with these in hand? They were sort of already in high demand but then that sort of straightened itself out. But now here you have even more people wanting to pick one up (I think prior to the announcement of HLVR people didn't really know what the Valve Index was because Valve didn't do much of a marketing push for it, compared to say some one like Oculus because they have a lot of ads on places like YouTube for the Quest.

Also RIP HTC Vive Cosmo. It would seem that the HTC Vive was as popular as it was because of Valves involvement, but them and HTC went their separate ways. One of the cool things HTC was doing was Vive Port. It would seem that their is trouble in HTC land and one of the people in charge of Vive stuff left, that's not a good look.

Will WMR see a comeback? Also Phil Spenser doesn't seem to have a lot of faith in VR
