There's something wrong with my Steam controller API. My controller just doesn't work without BPM. I've made sure that everything is checked on. It works on configurations, but in-game it just won't be detected. :face-with-look-of-triumph:

Is Path of Exile a good game ? With the announcement of 2 / 1.5, I could see myself finally trying it.

People most often compare it to Diablo II, an all-time great game, due to the obsessive loot cycle and high level of fine tuning to your character that gets augmented by what drops you manage to find.

But I haven't played it myself.

So, I don't really know. I'm not qualified to answer, honestly. God, why did I click the Reply button? I'm in too deep at this point. How do I stop this thing? I guess I could just

depends if you want to "try it" or if you want to play it.
If you want to try it, not really, you won't understand 90% of the things happening and it is a bad experience to just fumble along.
If you want to play it, though, use a guide that you follow exactly to the point, with no experiments, or you will ultimately destroy your character and fun. it is the difference between clearing hundreds of mobs in seconds and maps very fast to constantly dying and taking 5 to 10 times as long to clear maps. You can experiment with builds and playstyles when you are more proficient with the game.

Anyway, I'm playing Fallen Order at the hardest difficulty and enjoying it quite a lot, other people are playing it at normal or even story mode and having equal fun. The game works great both ways. All this to say that an easier mode for Sekiro or other Souls-like games wouldn't make the game worse, just more fun for more people.

Are there more than just me here who have PC game pass and mostly uses it to demo/check if the game is good, working and playable in order to add the game to your Steam wishlist for purchase later? Im basically only using PC game pass to finish shorter "one and done" games and to check out if the game is worthy to be on my Steam wishlist.

I tried My Time in Portia on gp, liked it, so I wishlisted it and bought it on Steam sale sometime later. I really liked Baldurs Gate IV on gp, so I put it on my Steam wishlist.

I finished Ruiner on Gamepass, and played a decent amount of Enter the Gungeon. Also played a lot of Age of Empires, but that kind of strategy game isn't something I can stick with for too long, so that's perfect for the gamepass model.
Also, played Gears UE (stopped at final boss), Gears 4 (finished) and now Gears 5 (in Act 3 now) with it.

So I can't complain, will continue subbing it, once my free months run out.
I mean purple...

Oh yeah, they gave SLJ something very similar.

Portia is in the current Humble Monthly along with Soulcalibur 6 and Yakuza Kiwami.
It's also the best time to sub to it if you aren't already since it will change into Choice next month and you get grandfathered into the Classic+ plan.

MAFIA IV Massive Leak + MAFIA II Remaster

I have three separate sources confirming this. Two of them former developers for Hangar 13, one of them being a journalist. They are very reputable, obviously I can't reveal who they are, nor shall I, as I wish not to hurt their career or cause any legal issues. If that makes my credibility lower, then so be it.

Anyway, let's get into it.

As some of you may already know - MAFIA IV started prototyping stages of development right after MAFIA III wrapped up its DLC season, however as it was reported, the project was "cancelled" or "passed on" by Hangar 13 management in favour of an original IP (all reported and confirmed).

After development on their "original project" wasn't gaining any traction, they decided to assemble a small unit which then became Hangar 13 in Brighton, UK. This team, according to my two developer sources, picked up their original MAFIA IV pitches and prototypes and hit the ground running. After a good 5-6 months of internal struggles, they decided that the project was ambitious and something they wished to pursue, now, every branch (aside from the Czech Republic, I'll get to that) are working on MAFIA IV.

The game, according to my two developer sources and journalist, will indeed be set in 70s Vegas and continue on from where MAFIA III left off. You will play as a new protagonist and it will return to you playing as the Italian Mob in Vegas' golden years of organised crime. Said to be very "Scorsese-esque" whatever that means.

The game will feature a huge map to traverse of course, the story will span a decade according to one of my developer sources, the other developer claims that this was initially not the case as they wanted to continue the documentary style of MAFIA III's storytelling at first, but instead will be a more traditional "now" story with no flashbacks or interviews ahead of the events.

I'm not sure if any characters will return - I never asked this, unfortunately, although I would expect Vito to make an appearance at the very least.

Gone are the repetitive missions from MAFIA III. They know they fucked up there. Apparently the story behind that is a bit murky. The game (MAFIA III) originally allowed you to go straight for the racket bosses, each with unique encounters and deaths, and not have to do the repetitive filler stuff, but as the release date loomed over the developers, the producers were pressuring them to get it shipped and had to make some quality drawbacks.

Many planned mechanics for MAFIA III have made their way into MAFIA IV, one of which being an empire building system, far more in depth than anything I've heard of in any game before. It's insane the stuff they plan with this. One of my sources was telling me of how you can literally build, buy out, and expand casinos, you can take a rundown building and turn it into a metropolis.

It'll be on a new version of the MAFIA II/III engine, massively overhauled, many of the technical issues that plagued M3 should now be mostly non-existent apparently.

Motion capture began on the game about 8-9 months ago. Expected to be revealed next year, with a 2021 release, next gen obviously.

Now then, MAFIA II Remaster - yes, this is a thing and it's coming sooner than you think. Not sure when, but they said "SOON" (TM) - Hangar 13's Czech branch is working on this, it's a complete overhaul and uses the MAFIA IV engine. Think RE2 Remake levels.

Any questions, ask. I'll try and answer what I can - I understand if you don't believe me, but we'll all be here when the game is announced so yeah :)

P.S: This is a throwaway account obviously - don't want any legal repercussions to hit me :D

I still have nightmares from Mafia III. Man that game reminded me of that online Sleeping Dogs spin-off, Triad Wars or whatever was its name, as a single player AAA game.

I expect absolutely nothing from anything 2K put their hands on, but good to know they understand the previous game structure was hideous. If this leak is true, obviously.

Curious about Mafia 2 remaster, even if a double pack 1+2 would make more sense imo.

Man Mafia 2 doesn't need a remake, Mafia 1 was the great one.

What happens is my sub is just paused for this month?

Going forward will we still be able to subscribe for a month out of the blue if we see some games we like? (I assume so, just at a higher price than if you retain your sub through these times)

There is gonna be a lot of blowback for releasing a VR only Half-Life game. It takes a lot of guts to do that too.

Selling your game to a couple million people at best vs selling your game to hundreds of millions of customers. PC gaming and M/KB are in their prime right now which makes Valve even more nuts in all of this.

They would have been a lot better off if they just made a new IP for VR and not take the goat FPS ip to redesign an entire new experience around it. Even some new Co-op L4D VR game would make more sense than Half-Life tbh.

The person who leaked Dota Underlords supposedly leaked information about HLVR and we'll be hearing an official announcement on the 20th. Here is the pastebin with what seems to be an interview between Valve and Geoff Keighley:

Where is nov 20th stated?

There is gonna be a lot of blowback for releasing a VR only Half-Life game. It takes a lot of guts to do that too.

HLVR has been leaking as VR only for years. They have a VR headset to sell and have poured millions into VR technologies. You can also use cheaper VR headsets with it.

Will there be a blockback? Sure, but there are blowback for everything people don't like and after a while most people will move on with their lives.

People don't want to buy a VR headset due to lack of AAA games, but when an AAA VR game comes around people complain they can't play it in non-VR mode.

I think people also need to understand that they don't need to make a profit of HLVR, they don't need to sell millions of copies, they want people to buy VR headsets and invest into SteamVR.

Paused is fine and will be converted to Classic+.
It will also be possible to pause Choice at any time without losing the Classic+ status going forward, so just snagging interesting months and pausing for the rest will be fine.
Only outright cancelling the sub will remove Classic+ status.

I'm up for some Half-life VR based stuff. Somebody has to start making large scale VR games and Volvo have the resources to dump into it without worrying too much about the profit line. Steam makes loads of money. Why not experiment a bit.

That's kinda where I'm at, yeah. I put maybe 10 hours or so in The Outer Worlds and once I got it out of my system and the novelty wore off I just kinda moved on to something else. I installed Age of Empires DE last night but unless it really grabs me I'll likely only demo it to see if I wanna buy it on Steam later. A part of this is due to me preferring to own and earn achievements through Steam. But the subscription aspect also makes me feel less compelled to complete games than if I had bought them outright. The fact that I paid maybe 10 bucks total (if even that) for a sub that will run out next summer probably has something to do with it as well lol.

On the other hand, I'm starting to feel kinda conflicted about pre-ordering Halo MCC. I was always planning to buy it on Steam but money's a bit tight right now and having access to it through gamepass is starting to make me feel like it'd be dumb to pay 50 bucks for it. Especially since we still have no idea when the rest of the games will come.

So does it mean a march 2020 release?
Yes, release is better to be done in Q1 2020 so they can make their own strategy to sell Index and packs now that X-mas is around the corner, also, they want to be sure that the product is 100% polished.

By that time, the Index better ship to more countries. Lots of people willing to buy the Index, but can't due to "not available in your country".

I'm pretty sure they are working on that to make sure more and more countries are being added so everyone has the option to buy it but I guess it all depends of the services and the economical situation of the country itself (Argentina for example being excluded due the all time changing divise)

I'm kinda bummed out if a new Half Life game is going to be VR only, Valve has kinda be tone deaf with their new releases lately, they kinda messed the proper launch of underlords and artifact is dead as a doorknob, can't they use Portal as the experiment VR instead of Half Life?

MAFIA 2 is such a good game but it's also the game which killed the first GPU I bought with my own money back in '11, so I have a lot of feelings about it. And regarding MAFIA IV, as long as the PC port is well-made I'd be willing to try it out.

Here's hoping that this leak is true, and that they also have a Mafia 1 remake in the works, it really could use the RE2 treatment too.

Meh, hard to be excited for 2K games when they go the epic store for god knows how many months, at least losing Mafia won't be to bad, they were never good games but its is going to hurt when Bioshock gets the epic bribe.

Actually, I'm glad they went with HL instead of Portal, first of all HL has been a saga that has been used for experimentation and an FPS is way easier to adapt to VR than portal where locomotion and motion sickness might be a problem for a long portion of people (think that perspectives change A LOT in Portal) also, HL is way more attractive to sell in general and who knows what else can be there, maybe there are more reasons behind :p

Adam Isgreen said:
The idea of microtransactions in a real-time strategy game isn’t a thing, DLC, expansions – all of that is things that we’re going to be exploring for Age 4.
PCGamesN said:
As far as what that expansion content will look like, Isgreen says that’s in many ways down to the games’ player communities. As an example, he said, new civilisations probably won’t be coming to Age of Empires II, since it already has 35.
Then they mention AoE III again:
PCGamesN said:
Isgreen says they’ll be starting those conversations up with fans as the team shifts its focus to Age of Empires III, and that the approach for Age of Empires 4 will be no different.

How about just being happy VR exists and is something that inspired their developers enough to actually make a new Half-Life? Or just a real game in general, even if it's not Half-Life, it's equally important coming from Valve if it's that kind of serious effort title. Valve or not you're missing out on tons of gaming goods by resisting progress, VR is no longer that expensive or a hassle to set up to get into a decent quality manner and will be increasingly adopted. Start over here.

I want them to want to make a HL game not to push a overpriced gimmick but because they want to, its not right to wait 12 years and finally maybe a game because some interns need to be kept busy.

That's pretty narrow minded, how is VR a gimmick? You don't need to buy a Valve product either to get into VR but how is their premium product overpriced? Is there a break down that shows they sell it for a crazy mark up that includes their years of R&D costs that I missed somewhere? And how do you know they're making a game just to keep interns busy and if that's the case why even care about the end product at all regardless of IP, it'd just suck, VR or no VR, lol.

Either way, if Half-Life VR exists it's not at the expense of non-VR Half-Life, they didn't see fit to make that for years before VR was a thing to blame VR for it.

I realize that the reason I am not excited about VR is that I rarely enjoy games with first-person perspective.

I have enjoyed Portal 2, The Witness, Skyrim, No Man's Sky, and that is about it: four games out of a collection of more than 2000 games.
