Updated my Ryzen chipset through AMD auto-detecting installer. Woo boy, PC gaming sure has been simplified since the dark ages.

If you are wondering, scholars consensus on when the dark ages happened is when you tried patching Neverwinter Nights. You often needed several patches, apply them in a specific order, had to see on the Internet if your plan was correct, and express your love to your cherished ones.
Just in case.

Cool beans, the new European (?) regulation seems to be applied soon. So now after confirming my CB purchases with a SMS phone code, I will have to confirm the confirmation with an APP phone code.
Eagerly anticipating having to setup a confirmation for the confirmation of the confirmation.

I am no expert and clearly not a private sector advocate, but maybe the legislator is not well equipped to handle that shit*. On the other hand, if you have a confirmation fetish, oh boy, are you in for a treat.

*just look at how they massacred my boy the Internet.

Going to soon replay every Halo, I have a little question, not really important but hey. Can you earn the currency for the battlepass in solo play or is it strictly limited to PVP. I don't expect them to give tons in solo, but it would be a nice touch.

I'm unfamiliar with the Forza Horizon series. In fact, of the whole franchise, I only played the demo of, I believe, the first game, because people kept talking about it being a Project Gotham Racing sucessor (which couldn't me more false; PGR had a nice balance between arcade and simulation gameplay that I enjoyed, while Forza has the usual simulation gameplay where I can't keep the car on the track, without almost stopping the car).

Anyway, about the Forza Horizon series, I see a lot of stuff about it being an open world game, with some exploration elements (and it does look pretty), but also that it's an online game where you constantly see other people.

What do you actually do? Is there an offline mode, where you don't see other players?
And, how's the gameplay (is it like the main Forza games, or more "arcade")?

thanks ;)

I am not sure about offline, since I am always online when I am playing games. But you can play the game by yourself. The players that you see in the world are bots using player's names.

The Horizon is series is more of an arcade racing game.

DAMN. Can't wait to die and die again in Elden Ring.

Might look to grab it off CDKeys since it's pretty cheap over there currently.

FH5 Early Access starts in about 13 hours on Steam but I think if you have it on Windows Store it starts when the date hits 5th Nov in your timezone.

Lost Ark CBT is going up in a few hours as well.

Looks like my weekend is going to be a lot of gaming.

For me FH series is what I do to relax a bit. Drive around, enjoy scenery and unlock some cars that I want. It's a very nice driving game. You can play offline and the world will be populated with AI racers with behaviour data modelled after other players so you may see a username you recognise provided you have a friend on Xbox who plays Forza.

I believe the gameplay is more arcade-y and there are some options to make it more sim-like but it won't be as sim-like as the mainline Forza games.

Elden Ring is easiest preorder of all time :cat-pizza-blob:

Also 86 meta is kind of low for SMTV. I was expecting at least a 90.

Didn't read the reviews but my guess is the game is hard lol.

I'll buy it without hesitation if it comes to Steam. Atlus pls

Im heavily considering getting thje Elden Ring Deluxe Edition, but not sure, I expect myself to use just a few min on the art book and that's it. The music will most likely pop up on YT anyway.

I remember when SMT IV came out people were making memes calling it the Dark Souls of Persona. Glad to see some things never change.

nah 86 is higher than i expected, it's nowhere near as mainstream popular as persona
Just glancing at Metacritic right now, and I think V is currently the highest rated mainline game. Nocturne is at 82, Strange Journey Redux is at 80, IV is at 83 and IV Apocalypse is at 84.

I'm the kind of guy that likes to play Euro Truck Simulator 2, you know, a game where I can just put some music files to play on the in-game radio, and drive around maps that resemble real life locations.

I'll need to give this spin-off series a go one of these days.

The 60$ preorder for Dark Souls 3 came with free soundtrack so kinda sucks its not the same with Elden Ring.

The DS3 soundtrack was so fucking good too.

Damn man!
Does gamepass even have 1 and 2? I guess they have faith this doesn't hurt their sales on Steam that much, or MS offered an absolutely ridiculous amount of money.

Gonna suck hard if game pass doesn't get the the 2 first games. It's not gona be the complete experienece without thouse. Plus the avalance of DLCs.

huh, the more I think about Warhammer 3 on game pass, the more inferior the version get's.

Yea Warhammer III must have cost a lot to get on GP day one.

And it will easily sell millions on Steam as well so SEGA/CA set themselves up really nicely. And this is after getting a big bag for giving away the spinoff on EGS.

Im curious how game pass subscribers will handle the lack of mortal empire (the big meat in the game) if MS and SEGA doesn't release the first games. And of course the avalance of DLCs. Warhammer games have so much DLCs.

I'm sure it will be fine, this is likely a move targeted for more casual players who haven't really dipped in deep into the series yet in order to give it a go. Particularly so for people are already subscribed to GPU and so can try it for "free"

I see they stated in their blog that they plan to pun 1 and 2 on WinStore and EGS, which is good. Now the question is if those games will be on game pass as well and how they will do it with DLCs. Steam let's you install the content you want.

I said it on Era and i will say it here, nothing in that elden Ring preview was new. Same standard open world design tropes with souls gameplay. You still traverse empty spaces, you still interact with standard souls static NPCs, there is still no proper full movement animation for different terrain...

Proper platforming is new and is kind of a big deal for Souls level design.

I'm all over another Dark Souls-like game by From, it's been too long.
Sekiro and BB were not it (I want shields damnit!), so i'm bloody glad it's back to its dark fantasy roots in all but keeping the name.

FU Bandai!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They don't even bother to sell the PC CE In NA.

Do you guys in EU at least have the option to buy the CE for PC?

That's just so dumb, so despite stuff like DS selling over 3 million they still don't feel like some people will buy the CE for PC?

They are just a bunch of idiots or I guess I don't expect their NA branch to know anything about PC at all. By the way I am serious about the NA branch they hardly ever talk about PC, even with Super Robot War 30 they hardly ever talked about that.

It's just really dumb is all.

As for the DD going public, I just hope that they still keep releasing on Steam and even though SIE now owns a small portion of them I'm sure that they may still do timed exclusives with other companies if they pay enough money (it will eventually get released on PS and indies are not Sizes highest priorities). For the most part hopefully there is nothing to worry about sales wise since I'm sure that investors have looked at the number and have seen how crazy games have sold on Steam (and that's even with them showing how much money some of their EGS exclusive deals made). FallGuys sold over 10 million and it likely would not have reached that high of a number as soon as it did on PS4 if it was not a part of PS+.

As for game companies and block chain, well what's the point to it when those same companies are the ones that control what the thing is worth ultimately, since they are the ones that could in theory "print" more of the thing. I'll just end it there.

As for Elder Ring I was thinking of getting the CE bit I don't think I'm going to bother to now and I'm just going to buy the DX Digital version and play it on Steam Deck at some point. It will be cool seeing how the game runs on it because the Steam Deck will be out by the time the game releases.

One more thing, what is Valve should a video via OnDeck to show Forza 5 running on the Steam Deck the day that the game is officially released (to show people what they potentially could be Looking forward to.

Like i care. i just don't like double standards.

i didn't see proper platforming, there is still just jump button. No ledge grab, proper character alignment with narrow space or things like that. And there is no fall damage from what i could see (both on horse and on foot).

The jump button in other Souls was more akin to jumping in Zelda that you can only do from ledges to get to other ledges, it was seldom used outside of skips and glitches. Elden Ring on the other hand has a dedicated jump button that lets you say, go over railings - which is something you could do in Demon's Souls but it was used a grand total of once - and that opens a lot of interesting level design interactions. They specifically showed a lot of vertical exploration on that one dungeon. Being able to freely jump on the spot is also something that affected combat, both on foot and on horse, horse can even jump multiple times in the air as shown in the first trailer.

Will the jumping mechanic matter a whole lot in the grand scheme of things? That remains to be seen, but Elden Ring taking some cues from Sekiro is definitely new for Souls games.

This is basically a MGS4 --> MGSV situation for them. They take their amazing gameplay and go open world with it. But since its fantasy it has much more potential than what MGS could do.

And also...you don't have to interact with any NPCs. You can kill them. You can walk past them. There is so much replay value in a FROM game and now they are gonna do it open world. Every empty space in their game can turn into a pvp battle. The hidden chests, illusory walls etc. You will probably need to play through this like 3 or 4 times before you truly experience the game.

Just look at the Anri of Astora questline in DS3. Its one of the most cryptic things anyone has ever done in an rpg. If it wasn't an achievement it would have probably taken the community months to solve. The simple things make these games wonderful. Its what seperates them from everyone else. That questline in itself was more amazing than anything else done in open world games over the past decade. imo. Its the best thing FROM has done in any of their games and they hid it out of plain sight. No other dev would ever do that.

And they earn the benefit of the doubt when they go 6 for 6 and all 6 of their games have 89+ metacritic + goty awards. There aren't any other devs in the industry right now who are on fire like they are.

I was thinking today how, while I by no means am a driving games fanatic, this is sorta like the Assassin's Creed formula of bloated maps with tons of things to do, except it works. FH4 was relaxing, and it's all I'm asking from 5.

I want to play it. Now. But I haven't 99 euros to burn or 50 for a bizarre game pass dlc edition. This is my 'it will be cozy' release of the year.

Wok I was thinking, is xCloud 30 or 60 fps ?

ladies, gentlemen, and others,

excessive hype and wishful thinking isn't conducive to a healthy lifestyle or game enjoyment.
It could be the best thing ever.
Or it could be a disaster.

but one thing is clear: hyping yourself up and interpreting marketing material and determining how awesome that would be without ever having played it, is a path to disappointment.

I have Dark Souls 2 and 3 PC as beautiful Steel Cases, but there is no Special Edition for Elden Ring announced yet, right?
Not yet but places like GAME in the UK sometimes have Steelcase editions or sell Steelcases seperately. It might be worth checking online stores in your area but if the game is 3 months away i don't know when such things will appear.
