Why does every time I fire up Destiny 2 it feels like I'm restarting a completely different game
I don't even know what I'm playing. I bought it on release and it was the base game, then when I came back it made me do the Destiny 1 intro again, and now I'm in Mars?????????????Every time you return to a multiplayer/gaas game you haven't played in a while

Got my new monitor! Looking at pictures of 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide monitors online, I got the impression that a 32:9 would be huge but a 21:9 would feel only slightly wider than my 16:9 but I was so wrong lmao. This thing is massive. I had to redo some of my cable "management" just to be able to fit my tiny speakers on my desk alongside the two monitors. I know a 32:9 is literally as wide as two monitors but this thing definitely feels like having two monitors in one. I love it!

If you mean picture=by-picture where you can have it act as two distinct monitors taking in different video inputs then sadly no but since I have a second monitor I don't really need it personally.

holy shit am I stressed. Got a week left before I gotta move on out, but nowhere to call home. I've spent the whole month looking, have had so many close calls and "almosts" even got scammed a couple times. (People advertising properties they don't even own. Sigh) Ever since Covid, looking for a place to live is so so soul crushing. There are so many factors too, and money involved... oof. One big pain in the butt has been trying to find a place that accepts pets, my tiny little floofball of a cat is the most harmless critter around, but it doesn't matter. I've had her for 13 years, and I'm not gonna just give her up!!
I've got the money for the moving truck, I've got the money for petrol back to NY. I've barely got enough left over after those two expenses, but I figure it's enough for at least 1 month rent somewhere! ... Just having a hell of a time finding that somewhere.
Anyway thanks for asking. Sometimes it's good to vent.
My monitors are 165hz, but I've locked them to 144 in Windows. Than I globally lock all my games to 141 FPS via NVCP and let G-sync handle the rest. Haven't seen a single screen tear in almost two years.
And evidently the 5800x3D is sold out on amazon. I swear I'm cursed.
This is true, i picked up Kena in the sale which ive heard is good so id like to get that in, also Dying Light 2 which ive heard is a bit shit but i loved the first one so want to give it a go.
Also competing for time - picked up Guardians of the Galaxy which ive heard is great so i want to play that.
I got a code for uncharted with the new CPU, I've played it for 90 minutes and it's completely devoid of any tension. From the story structure it's clear naughty dog want to make a movie and it's obvious that all the details in the design revolve around the visual spectacle of it, in detriment of having interesting gameplay. It's another Sony game I can't find any fun playing.
I really can't understand spending all the technical expertise on something that feels so mediocre, I really wished they concentrated on making the game fun to play to be in the movie instead of making it as basic as possible to make watching a movie enjoyable

There's big reveals - that you already know a lot of if you played the GoWs of yore, and... that's it, there's reveals. Nobody reacts, no dialogue, just lines told by Christopher Judge.
Was storytelling abandoned by its parents, or is the game really supposed to be characters interacting with two lines of dialogues or less like in this case and... the game just going forward as if nothing happened, never explaining what the characters themselves don't know, or actually telling us about what happened since then?
I just don't understand how a game can spend so many hours of voice acting and never stopping once for a meaningful dialogue... those modern games go way beyond not letting the player experiment, get lost, or even deduce from clues, but they also don't let the story go anywhere because they think players will get bored if they're stuck in place for more than 30 seconds I guess...

I ordered a new TV/Monitor too (LG OLED 42). When that one arrives next week, my Gaming Room furniture & hardware upgrade is finally done. Thanks Nvidia for sponsoring everything (by not upgrading from my RTX 2700 anytime soon with these prices).

Microsoft has a tool called FancyZones that is part of their PowerToys utility that allows you to create snap zones like that. You just hold shift and drag to a zone, and it'll resize and snap the window. Install here.
Now it all makes (spidey) sense.

Speaking of CCUs, Wallpaper Engine hit another record today. I was reading some Chinese forums and apparently a popular blogger made a video discussing how it can be used to download NSFW content. The Chinese community freaked out and are scared that the CCP will finally block Steam. They harassed the blogger to the point where he took down the video and has lost nearly 400k followers on Bilibili.

Amazingly buggy, there are several issues that block progress, for me it was essential objects disappearing
