You might have noticed the "1" in the first heading. That's because I have a surprise announcement. There will not only be 1 but 2 DLCs coming.

The reason is that I got 3 more developers on team and I want them to go through some practice too before we get to Supraland 2. I challenged them to make a mini-DLC campaign. Turns out everything they plan is much bigger than I thought and they put in much more fresh ideas than I hoped for! The plan was to get it done in 3 months but I am not so sure anymore.

Our new talents are Stephen Ferguson and Annemieke Eerkes who you might know from their incredible work on this famous expansion to Portal 2: Portal Stories: Mel

The 3rd one is Benjamin Blodgett who I found out about because he was working on his own First-Person-Puzzle game which is still unreleased.

The 3 new folks started working on Supraland a couple of weeks ago and are doing great and getting more and more familiar with the Supra working environment.

Like with DLC 1 I will not tell you anything about the DLC 2 content. I hate it when publishers or game devs let you know every little detail about a game before it comes out. Same thing with movies. It's so much better going into it knowing nothing about it. We're preparing 2 surprise parties for you and we don't wanna spoil it!

Did something changed with the way Steam tracks achievements?

I have an achievement showcase in my profile sorted by rarity. For a very long time every achievement shown was from Sega Genesis/Megadrive classics, some at 0,2%, the rest at 0,3%. Now the ranking is as follows:

Half Life 2 - One Man Army - 0,01% of players
Team Fortress 2 - Spontaneous Combustion - 0,01%
Left 4 Dead 2 - Dead in the Water - 0,01%
Mafia II - Viva la Resistenza - 0,01%
Spec Ops The Line - Boot - 0,01%
Batman Arkham City GOTY - Puzzler - 0,01%

It's very weird.

A bunch of random achievements have been glitched for about a week now so they have much higher rarity than usual.

Thought I'd share my wonderful adventure with Ubisoft support:

I took the offer for a free month of Uplay Plus back in September, but like many others I could not cancel the subscription on several occasions since the cancellation link either gave me a 404 or just led me back to the homepage. By October they charged me the 15€ so I contacted them regarding a refund, which they immediately refused. I re-opened the case telling them that I think I'm in a pretty reasonable time frame which should be enough for residents within the EU and also the fact that the issue was widely documented across the internet, so there's no point in trying to deny it ever happened--which of course they do and I need to provide evidence. I tell them it shouldn't be needed considering the previously mentioned points, but if it really comes to that I could gather some screenshots from one of my streams whenever I get access to my PC again.

Now, the most recent reply stated that I simply won't get a refund and that I need to cancel the subscription on my own, which I can't since I don't have access to a PC and seemingly you can't cancel the subscription on mobile for some reason. 30 minutes later, I receive an email saying "Your refund request for Uplay Plus has been granted" but no money has been refunded yet.

I'm not sure what's going on or if I'm getting any money back, but uhm, I think I'll stick to Steam and GOG from here on out.

Anyhoo, I'm really looking forward to giving Destiny 2 a go once my PC is done!

What a nice way to start a Friday. Gonna be all ready and downloaded after I come home from work~
32€ with the Monthly Subscriber discount, was honestly expecting it to be more expensive since the Switch version is 60€ lol.
That is a really nice looking cover art.
What does the game cover look like?

I wonder if this will move people away from using the Uplay Plus thing since it just seems like a trap.

Uplay Plus sounded cool but at this point in time it seems like Origin Access Premium is more reliable (and that's saying something coming from EA of all people??) And Gamepass is way cheaper but the only games you get at launch are MS first party titles and some indie games.

Ubi games are basically dead for me on PC. They don't take Paypal in my region and ain't dealing with weird payment processors or the Epic store.

Return to Steam you fucks.

Yeah, limiting the service to Ubisoft-titles means I'm only interested in one or perhaps two franchises so there's just no point in paying 15€a month.

Meanwhile Game Pass has a great selection of games and is half the price to boot, so I can definitely see myself paying for that in the future. Let's just hope the app and its integration to Windows improves steadily so it can grow into a reliable service.

uPlay doesn't have regional pricing for my country so I have to pay with Singapore Dollar. Thank god the last game that I bought from them are Odyssey that available on Steam and Division 2 that available as AMD rewards so I just buy key code from a local seller.

For reference, you can extract the cover image from the steamdb info page of any app. Look under library_assets node.

And the cover image for Digimon.

ubi gonna ubi

they REALLY want to trap as many people into that shitty subscription as possible ... i refuse to believe any of that stuff are actual technical problems .... they're just hoping lots of people won't fight strong enough to actually get a refund ... they're hoping people will just forget and stay subscribed

gotta love capitalism™ ... NOT

Where's the girl with the pink cowboy-hat? That's pretty much all I remember from Digimon...

Looking at Atelier Ryza pricing. See that some decorative elements are in the deluxe edition. Slightly nervous.

There are so much error and problems with UPlay+ Im suprised UPlay+ launched it, Ubi should have cooked it in the owen more.

I have tried Origin Premier and Game Pass and UPlay+. Both Origin Premier and Game Pass is very easy and accessible to use. Both are easy to cancel and resubb too. People have reported this for UPlay+:

  • Not finding the cancel button
  • Not having the cancel buton working
  • Getting resubbed despite cancelling
  • Resubbing, but the sub somehow stopped working after a few days despite Ubi taking the money
  • Some people have reported they paid more than they should
  • Not possible to remove CC after cancelling, if you want to remove your CC, you need to put in a fake generated CC (yes, really)
  • Some people have reported that subbing with a fake CC actually works

Just a whole bunch of bullshit while Origin and Game Pass is so much easier and straightforward.

Considering the Season Pass pricing for the past 3 Atelier entries, anyone will sweat buckets. I can assure you, K-T will milk us for all our worth.
Yeah, I think I'm done with Koei Tecmo.
Up to a certain point I had all their available games on Steam, but I haven't purchased their latest titles. Not even DOA6. Not even the previous Atelier game. And I'll be skipping this one as well.

I dislike not getting all available content for a game, and in the case of their games, the rate at which they release content, and season passes, and their prices, is simply too much.

For most games I own, I also own all DLCs. Well, except their titles.
I can tolerate a season pass (I'm the kind of guy that, when pre-ordering a game, gets the Deluxe or Gold Edition, with the Season Pass included). I can tolerate the occasional DLC. Heck, I buy soundtrack and artbook DLCs for games I like, mostly to support the developers (since I don't even look at most of them), when it's a game I like. I don't need to be asked to buy them, I actually like to "reward" developers with a little extra, when it's something that I like.

But with Koei Tecmo it's different. It's one of the few publishers where I actually felt "exploited" by buying their games:

-you have to pre-order their games, in order to get certain content;
-you have to buy the deluxe edition, to get certain content;
-you have to buy multiple season passes (sometimes 3 in a single year, or more!), in order to get certain content (since their Season Passes have some exclusive content unavailable otherwise);
-they even have the "nerve" of releasing DLCs that aren't included in any of the Season Passes!

It's too much.
Their games are already expensive as it is (50-70€), adding hundreds (sometimes over a thousand!) of € on top of that in DLCs is simply milking people.
And don't tell me most are cosmetic. They strip bonus missions, chapters, modes, off their games, and sell them as DLCs, piece by piece.

With so many other great games around, I feel my money is better spent elsewhere.
For the price, or less, of one of multiple Season Passes that Atelier Ryza will surely have, you can buy multiple great games at full price.

This is $25 over here. Should I pay or should I hold?
I'm waiting for a sale on these last Bamco releases (NNK, Doraemon, Digimon). Their prices aren't the worst here, but knowing that I can buy the most expensive Vampire TMB2 edition on Steam and still have money left for the asking price of one of these Bamco games, or that I could buy GreedFall, or pre-order Atelier Ryza along with either NieR Automata or DQXI doesn't help.

I think that I will waiting until a 20% sale or something. These sale coupons from Steam sales could help, too.

I'm biased so, go for it, but remember, I'm biased.
Welp.

lol, I totally did that on purpose! I had written "Should I buy or should I hold" at first, but then changed "buy" for "pay" so it would fit the song.

Yeah, I wanted to get Ni No Kuni 1, but it's hard to justify it at full price, considering I already own it on PS3 and never played it. Same with Octopath Traveler, which has terrible regional pricing.

Almost done with ReCore and I really like most of it but god damn the combat is horrible. I have never seen bullet spongier enemies in all my days and they 1 hit you with cheap spamming moves! Any other good 3D metroidvanias on PC? I have Supraland.

Anyone try this game yet? Or find reviews?
Our site reviewed the game and the editor was very happy with it. The review is in greek so I'm not sure how much you can get out of a google translated version but the final score was 91%. If you want to ask anything I'd be happy to relay the question to the editor or give a brief synopsis of the review.

In a somewhat related matter, our review of Disco Elysium is also available in english if anyone wants to read it.

I think I'm going to leave the internet for a while. :)

Seeing you all buying all these cool games, and me waiting for my damn Shenmue 3 refund to have funds available, is seriously pissing me off. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Needless to say, another week has ended (in Japan time, it's close to midnight), and still nothing.
It's been over 4 months since the EGS exclusivity announcement, 1 month since the refund surveys opened, and 20 business days (4 full weeks) since I applied for a refund, and they still haven't refunded everyone that applied for one on the first day!

I know I sound like a broken record, but what a joke!
