I was always curious about what happened there, but WB calling it quits on the whole program makes a lot of sense considering what happened. The Gauntlet remake had a pretty successful launch, and was seemingly going to get good post-launch support, but they stripped out the leveling mechanic and shuttered development just barely a year in. And they've never discounted the dlc ever since

I have said it once and I will say it again lewd games are the future. Overall they can feel very low budget but some of them do have some decent mechanics.
I like management games, through in some lewd stuff and I will be playing that game for a few hours trying to get my business to prosper (what ever that means)

Also, The Outer Worlds seems really good so far. It's like Fallout but good, not depressing looking and actually funny. And I can't help but love the irony here. Epic turned me off of their store by taking games away from Steam and having a shitty store. Meanwhile, Microsoft earned enough good will for me to use their shitty app by putting their games on Steam and offering a great service with Game Pass. Funny how that works...
So for MHW once Iceborne comes out even if you don't buy it you will still need to download it in order to play with others. So you will have Iceborn but will just need a key to unlock it?

At first, I assumed we're looking at a GOG + SP + retired GaaS dump, but with EA teasing its own about-face -- and that 180 being the 180 -- I can't held but wonder if it's going all-in.
Even weirder is that I've launched the game, like, eight times.
So I went to see my doctor again today, and it looks like I'm in pretty good condition. My ears are now better as well, but he did tell me that one area of concern is that it looks like my eardrums have some scaring and stuff like that and that there is even some white spots (or something like that) and that I should go and see a nose, ear and throat doctor (specialist).
I do have a bit of discomfort at times.
But in general I would say that I don't have issues hearing.
Hopefully it's nothing too bad.

Yup. As I said before, for me the best thing about EA returning to Steam isn't the games themselves, as EA's recent output hasn't been especially good. In EGS and Steam discussions one of the more common arguments is that "EA left Steam long ago and they haven't returned so it's clearly working out for them and people don't care about services, just games". The only evidence for EA doing great outside of Steam has been that they hadn't returned, since EA had stopped providing Origin account and sales figures long ago. So EA returning to Steam not only kills that argument but also sends a very powerful message at a time when Tim Sweeney is trying to disassociate PC gaming from Steam.

speaking of desperate - i wonder what prompted their sudden change of heart ... if i had to guess i'd say it's all the lootbox shit (namely: the inevitable regulations) ... without those they're COMPLETELY fucked ... so they probably needed to find an additional cash source fast

Is Origin not doing well maybe the reason why EA decided to do Access Premium? They get $90 USD a year from people (and some of these people would either A, not normally buy their games to begin with of B, their data shows that most people using origin stick to maybe two games at most? So it was just an extra way to make money.

EA coming back to Steam would be hilarious. And it also would ruin Epic's plans to cripple Steam's revenue. I guess this is how Valve fights back against EGS. Incredible.

i mean - i'm sure they were talking pretty much since EA left ... but clearly something happened after egs launched
we now have 3 major publishers back on steam in the span of like 10 months (+ Destiny) ... this can't be a coincidence
Yeah, no way they're doing that. They pretty much are only making this for good PR. Typical EA monetization is pretty much the antithesis of that. They sure as hell are greedy, but that doesn't mean they're stupid.
I mean, Valve is surely talking with Ubi too, but that's their job, to talk with everyone offering goods in order to keep them in, as long as they don't offer exclusivity and/or keep games out of other places by contract, I'm ok with background negotiations, it's a classic move.
And yes, 3 major pubs + destiny AND I'm sure those are not the only ones, I can see Valve talking with activision too.
