Don't take it as confirmation, but EA dev on Apex subreddit saying at least Apex won't require Origin.

Maybe some backend stuff to link your accounts incoming?

That's awesome about EA coming back to Steam, somewhat (?), and depending how they link the two it might be the "best of both worlds" kind of situation. Steam is great and has been incredible for PC gaming for ages now but the future is always foggy and I actually support cross-platform library sharing a la Vudu + Google Play + Amazon for the most safety down the road. Although it's hard to imagine any of these platforms as they are now outlasting Steam ever.

Oh wow, they're actually coming in guns blazing with their fucking Jedi game lmao. Amazing. I actually had no idea it was even coming out this soon. Almost like not being on Steam is a bad idea or something...

Also, I can't help but wonder if the timing is coincidental or if Epic really did light a fire under Valve and pushed them to reach out to the big publishers. Because as many have pointed out, within the span of about a year we went from most big publishers clearly intending to leave and then Epic poaching games to now things looking pretty good with MS, Bethesda and EA coming back.

And if Death Stranding somehow dodges egsclusivity on top of that :steam_pigblanket:

Its that or the other way around. EPIC entering the market the way they did wound up hurting everyone but Valve.

EA, Bethesda and Microsoft don't have Fortnite. Valve has the largest platform. Them getting back in bed with Steam was necessary to survive the coming years. Same with GOG/CDPR who put Cyberpunk on Steam. Ubisoft seems to be the only one who lucked out on this lucrative moneyhat deal which probably hurt them as well based on the recent earnings news where everything is underperforming + getting delayed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard has also taken a huge hit since Fortnite came in to the market and EGS took away players from Bnet.

You won't be charged until the last Friday of a month, which is the 29th for November. You can cancel anytime from now till November 29th to avoid being charged.

You can cancel now and still get everything that gets revealed on Friday.
There's no real rush though, as the next billing date is November 29th and you might want to keep subbed at least until Friday to see if they switch to Humble Choice (so you get grandfathered into the Classic+ plan and then pause).

Id be down for Splatterhouse, that game was awesome on 360
I have it on the PS3.

Its....... Well...... It works. Its mediocore but it works.

Classic splatterhouse games are unlockable on the DISK!!! So that's a plus.

In PS3/360/Wii generation news, I got House of the Dead Overkill: Extended Cut today from my local "evil game corp". It was $10, compared to the $20-25 I've seen online and elsewhere in person. I <3 the house of the dead games, I've got 3,4 and now this on my PS3.

This quote from the gamesindustry.biz article is amazing:

"Since the time we removed our games from Steam, there's been this dramatic increase in the number of gaming services, which you would think would be really good for players. But I think in many cases, it's the exact opposite. It creates more difficulty for players, and providing player choice -- from my perspective and speaking on behalf of EA -- is really critical. It's an opportunity to make it possible for people to play where they want, to reduce that fragmentation and make it more frictionless... Reducing that fragmentation is really important. It's the most player-first thing we can do."

Once you unlock most moves, and start pulling combos and brutal moves left and right, I personally found the game a lot of fun.
I'm a 2D beat'em up kind of guy, and most 3D titles in the genre don't click with me, but Splatterhouse was a rare exception.

And here's a chance to post the trailer that first warmed me a bit about the game:

The voice acting by Jim Cummings (Mr. Darkwing Duck himself) as the devious Mask is just plain awesome!

Maybe getting back onto Steam will finally let them enable private servers on BFV

That's a better response than I was expecting.

"new multi-store world" is still pretty cringy.
Yes it does, like he can't help but misrepresent reality while also patting himself on the back.

No, unfortunately it never was.

And since my X360 broke down, I'm hoping the game will finally be released on PC, so I get to play it again.
I periodically "hassle" Bandai Namco about a PC port. :giggle:

It's a great tribute package to the series, since it includes a new game (that references bits and pieces of the older games), and ports of the 3 previous "main" games in the series.

Is it possible for someone to gift it to someone else at that discount?
I don't believe so. I ended up buying it, and I no longer see the discount.

No PC release. I strictly buy console only (PS/360/Wii) games for my PS3 and that's how I came to the new Splatterhouse game like two and a half years ago.

Far be it from me to tell you how to spend your money, but I've been tempted on and off again to get a cheap working 360. I've got some xbox1/360 games lying around, I'd like to play them again. And most of them will not work on an xbox one so that's out. I will say its worth it to have a working 7th gen console around.

Fucking Humble can go fuck off. Pissed me off with the worlds largest search bar across the top of the page and seemingly nowhere to login to my account or look at different segments of the site.

Five minutes of messing about later I see all the stuff I use when I go to the site at the bottom of the page. Which in my case was off the bottom of my Desktop so I didn't see it. Who the fuck re-designs their page so that all the useful common stuff to click is at the bottom of the page.

It's EA so the real reason is money and that they got a good deal from Gaben. But I'll take it, no reason to not rub it into a few faces. Like Tim's.
We don't really know if they got a deal in the sense EGS does deals though, people just attempt to normalize the latter by pretending there can be no reason other than that for the former (even though it's still not any kind of exclusivity or don't-release-there deal in that case anyway). Just so they can say, the next time someone is disgruntled about an exclusive, that hey, Valve/Steam does it too (again, even though it's a wholly different scenario). It could be just EA wanting to go back because Origin just hasn't been as good as they hoped so they'd rather potentially lose on that 30% for the additional volume of sales. Maybe they also feel that anyone who was going to be buying things on Origin by now will still do that after this so they only stand to gain, not lose. Maybe the deal was working with Valve to integrate the client/ea access/friend lists in a better way than they could by just releasing things as before. Who knows? I mean, GOG Connect (or whatever other stuff) probably has to get some cooperation from Valve too, gog just didn't go all "unprecedented partnership" over it.

I don't really like a lot of what Humble is doing lately but... they didn't? I think something might be up with your browser, all that stuff is still not just at the top but like anchored to the top as you scroll.

I'll tell those fools that EA explicitly didn't rule out to go to other stores, they're just not considering it now and they didn't cut out any other store on which they were before (Ubi did), so it's obviously not a classic exclusive moneyhat and not comparable. Valve isn't paying EA but I bet my ass Gaben did some work behind the scenes, maybe lowered the cut or made some other concessions to make EA happy.

Not sure, I do have a bar that follows with scrolling at the top but the account/bundles/store/etc bar is definitely stuck to the bottom of Chrome and also disappears when scrolling. It was fine yesterday and I'm not going to reset Chrome for this. Just about all my extensions are off etc. so no idea whats happened or if it's on my end or Humbles.

Besides, I was just venting. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been infuriating me all afternoon and evening with its constant taking over and moving the camera around. Which drives me up the wall.

Something is up, at the bottom of mine is the typical links to social stuff. I have a bar at top that stays with a small search bar and a small drop down menu where you log in.

God, he's such an insufferable fucking prick. We've had a "multi-store world" for years now. He's the one locking games down with garbage exclusivity deals. Trying to somehow take credit for a status quo you're actively working against is some Trump-level insanity...
That is basically what he does, he tries to make everything about himself.

Okay so the new Jedi game will require you to install Origin.

I plan to use Origin Premium and play the game a week early, if I like the game and I think it's good I might even pre-order the game and get the extra stuff.

As for Apex it seems that it will not need Origin installed.

So some games will need it and other will not.

So for Apex at least this will be big!!!!!!

That game will now get a big influx of users?

How about China? Can EA sell their games there? I thought stuff like Apex was not in China? There was that article of people being mad about the Apex VR game since they thought it was Apex Legends.

Isn't China the main place that is still buying PUBG on Steam?

Physics are broken if you go above 30fps
This is nothing "new" coming from KT, remember that Musou game that people thought was "censored" because the N/S version had jiggle PhysX but the PS4 version didn't. Then they tested the PC version and it was the same for that one. People capped the PC version to 30fps and guess what you see boobs acting different

As soon as you said this, I went to look and see they've opted not to do early access because of "story spoilers."

So... What's happening at Kotaku ?

They have a parent company, maybe they sold them off or something.

I do wish that Kotaku was more of an unbiased publication and just gave us facts.

I think Jason was one of the few people (there and in general) that did investigative journalism (remember when that was a thing? I am sure that it still is to some degree in some parts of the world but it just doesn't feel that way. Way too often it feels like everyone just the gun and publishes the first thing that happens before getting any confirmation and things like that.)

A few years ago I use to like Kotaku and was sort of even happy when they mentioned me once as part of an article about the PS Vita and a firmware update that was sort of killing the system.

Maybe it's getting restructured or something like that since it's not bringing in enough money (maybe they have been pushing people away)

Does this mean RIP "Steamed"?

I know that we all have different point of views and all of that, but I don't normally "go after people" and this is me just saying that I have an issue with Kotaku as a publication and some of the articles that come out of it.
