Yeah, sorry. My "I'm wrong" edit was because I edited twice, lol. I just misunderstood what the Minecraft Launcher actually is. But thanks, I honestly didn't see anyone mention it or must have missed it. Kind of a big deal imo.

Hopefully it also means one step closer to Steam.

So apparently a studio called Jetpack Interactive is handling the God of War PC port. Iron Galaxy is porting Uncharted. And the Bloodborne PC port is allegedly already done. So in conclusion Nixxes is totally working on Ghost of Tsushima, you heard it here first folks, I'm now a leaker Lmao

Nixxes is obviously porting HDZ2 and GOW2 for day and date releases.

Gotta say, for as much as I poo-poo the AAA(A) landscape, the licensed soundtrack for Gradians sure as hell speaks to my boomer self.

Lots of era-standards you might expect, but select choices like Def Leppard - Rock Rock (Till You Drop) vs. more consumer-friendly choices like Pour Some Sugar on Me speaks to a more thoughtful soundscape that deserves props.

Game itself actually looks really cool from sideline perspective as both superhero culture & AAA design just doesn't speak to me.

Lesson learned is that I should just STFU about big-budget productions. Though knowing thyself that's quite a hill to climb!

Blink twice if Last of Us 1 is on the way.

I rewatched Tim Rogers' review over the week-end while I wait for his Cyberpunk review and it made me realize that I really, really want to replay The last of Us lmao. Playing Part II eventually would be cool, obviously, but right now I'd settle for a port of the first one.

Man, I really hope the rumor that they're working on a remake is bullshit because I don't wanna wait for a stupidly needless remake. I just want a port of the perfectly fine version that's already out!

In that case, here are some much more specific gameplay tips.

Sounds like you haven't cleared the 3rd boss yet, so I'll try to avoid spoiling anything past that.

First off, boss gimmicks.

For the prospector, the goal is to kill the pack mule during the first phase so you have a truckload of cards to use in the second. If possible, you want some empty spaces on your side of the board when the first phase ends so you can immediately start playing things.

The angler is the one that spooks me the most, since the second phase can get out of control fast. Ideally, you want a high cost, powerful card in your hand when the first phase ends. He'll slot in bait buckets across from your existing cards, so you want to sacrifice all of them to drop a huge fatty and kill him before he gets a chance to do anything. During the first phase, make sure you're drawing Squirrels on the turns where he threatens to hook things (unless he's trying to hook a near-dead creature, then it might be best to let him).

I think they trapper may be the easiest once you understand his gimmick. The goal is to suicide cards into all 4 traps, but to do so slowly (otherwise he'll often just kill you before you restock). If you've upgraded Squirrels to Bees, they can be used to set off traps, which is really helpful for preserving your stronger cards. If you set off all 4 traps, you'll have 5 pelts to trade during the second phase, and it should be smooth sailing from there.

Other tips:
Try to avoid spending items until you hit your first backpack event so you can get a free pack rat. In addition to being pretty useful, pack rats are also a rare, and for reasons you may not have seen yet, having a lot of rares in your deck will pay off later.

Once you have the squirrel head wood carving (or the insect head, if you've upgraded to bees), meeting the wood carver and looking for body carvings is a great idea. While not everything you'll find is good, certain sigils are absolutely busted when applied to squirrels/bees. Things like undying, triple blood, the sigil that grants a worker ant on play. Get a good one and you can win the run right there.

During the early fights, never accept a peace branch and always focus on getting as much overkill as you can. Getting a stash of teeth early makes visiting the trapper very rewarding, since cashing in 2-3 golden pelts will make your deck way stronger. Only ever buy golden pelts though. The hare and wolf pelts are just going to lead to a more clogged deck.

Unless you get a way to generate lots of bones easily, you typically want only a couple of bone based creatures, but you do want some. They can help generate momentum in tight spots when you don't have much to sacrifice.

Mantis God is insane. If you can increase one's attack power at a camp fire, you can steal fights left and right, since a 2-attack Mantis God will deal 6 damage on turn one. It's strong in boss fights too.

Certain rares are much stronger in the early game, like Ouroboros and Geck. If you see these near the start, take them (unless it's a choice between them and a Mantis God). Late game, you can probably pass on them.

Some fights can run long enough to make you run out of cards if your deck is too slim, so trying to keep deck size as small as possible isn't a great strategy. That means you also can't really rely on just one super-card to win, so try to make sure you're not putting all your eggs in one basket. (This is why a woodcarving that buffs squirrels/bees is so strong. It's consistent.)

This last tip I didn't even figure out during my playthrough, and it seems way busted. But if you're really stuck, maybe it could help. Apparently, if you visit a campfire and repeatedly send up a poisonous creature, like an adder, then when it gets eaten, it'll kill all the people around the campfire. Apparently this lets you use all future campfires 5x each with no risk of losing your creature. Seems nutty when applied to stuff like Mantis God.
So yeah, I manged to build a broken deck and flew through all 3 bosses. Then beat Leshy in about 4 turns -- it was ridiculous. What helped was getting a squirrel totem that bred rabbits and because I took an ouroboros on your advice. It was mediocre until I got the unkillable sigil on it and some extra hit points. LMAO. Worth it. I'd say after actually getting a broken deck, I have more understanding of ways to break it further. The crazy combinations compare to those in Monster Train!

I can also confirm the adder trick does work -- I powered up a mantis god after doing that but still lost the run.

So even avoiding spoilers I knew there was more to the game, but I still wasn't ready for what actually happened after beating Leshy.
This game is legendary.

Makes me wonder if Sony is gonna flood 2022 with surprise PC port announcements and releases.
i would say its pretty clear if you look at it from the sight of official statements:
  • they said numerous times they have a slate ports .... such slate still hasnt appeared , but we got 2 reveals ffew months from each other
  • various people said they are saitisfied with PC results and its seen as entry to new regions and the 250% RoI spaks for itself
  • cory balrog started teasing GoWpc prett much ever since DeathStrandingPC happened ... so it must have been indev for quite some time
  • they bough Nixxess , a studio well known for PC ports of squarenix and even said its to help to ease the porting process
  • each of the currently revealed/announced ports is done by different porting studio and none of them so far has been Nixxes
  • HZD port was shitfest technicaly, which must have scare them out a bit so they had to double down on QA
  • we are in middle of the pandemic and even their PS5 things got severly delayed comapred to their original plans ... must have influenced PC timings too
  • They annonned 2 biggest IP ports in short span without releasing one of them .... which sounds like they are speeding things up

Define what's flood for you? Because don't expect things to go crazy.

At the very least we will have 2 releases which is already more than 2020/2021 with GOW being early January and Uncharted being Q1 2022.
As for announcements, I would say at the very least we should get the same number of announcements as this year, so, around 3 however it could very well be incremental given the jump in terms of announcements from 2020 to 2021.

So yeah, I'm sure there's going to be new announcements and releases, but we still don't know how are they doing this.

Here you have how things are looking at the moment, dark green is announcements and soft green is releases.

If we assume that some games are going to be delayed for up to 6 months as it was the case for God of War, then we should confidently have these next year:
  • Ghost of Tsushima (between February and August)
  • Returnal (between April and October)
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure (between May and November)
  • HELLDIVERS 2 (between May and November)
on top of God of War in January and Uncharted 4 ("early 2022").

With a uniform release over the year, the calendar could look like this:
  • January: GoW
  • March: Uncharted
  • May: Ø
  • July: Tsushima
  • September: Returnal
  • November: Sackboy
It looks like Helldivers 2 has not been released on consoles, so I doubt it arrives on PC right away between May and November.
Maybe the date for this game was for consoles.

My conservative guess on Sony's release schedule after Uncharted:

Summer: Ghost of Tsushima
Fall: Bloodborne
Winter: The Last of Us
Spring 2023: Spiderman

I think they will definitely speed the things up, so maybe Spiderman could release in 2022.

Having to play this without a controller and just a keyboard sounds like the most intense horror experience. I can respect that as an artistic choice.

Basically, it seems like Valve is cracking down on people who post reviews with links to 18+ patches on Steam. That's not terribly surprising in itself, but they also seem to be treating those links as malware/phishing attempts and are handing out voting bans (warning users to check that nobody has had access to their accounts) and (supposedly) even account suspensions to people who up-voted those reviews (screenshots from the Nekonyan discord server):

which would leave a free spot for Bloodborne in July/August 2023.

1C Entertainment has been building a rather impressive roster of "classic" FPS.
I mean, they are publishing:


I know some are a bit "turned off" by now with the idea of another FPS in early access, but I have no problem buying them.
Unlike crowdfunding campaigns, you are sure to get something playable, and you get it right away, and the prices have been affordable (especially since they usually have a "complete the bundle" option for their FPS games), with no crazy tiers that lock you from certain content unless you pay "x" amount.
And, like crowdfunding campaigns, you get to see the game develop (in fact, most of these developers have been providing more frequent updates than most games I backed).

I have some high hopes for GRAVEN, despite being the one that is clearly "less complete", and lacking in content.
Dread Templar, on the other hand, is a lot of fun since the very first version. Really great stuff. (y)
And the later has such a kick ass soundtrack! :blobdrool:

Going to see what will be actually released first before placing my guess on Summer / Winter 2023. I remember Queen mentioned Last Guardian as well so maybe it is also coming. Horizon 2 and Ratchet & Clank definitely seem to be safe bet. :cat-heart-blob:
