I hate the always online stuff about Hitman. Ordinarily wouldn't have got a single player game with that restrictive bollocks in it but Hitman just about gets a pass as its so good. Definitely don't think it should be on GOG though, call it whatever you like but the game requires an online connect to get anything out of it. I love 1&2 but after the eggsclusivity ill be waiting on a big discount for 3.
This is how I feel, hopefully the hoopla will push for a full offline version

So, how is everyone doing toda.....

- Sees the ERA's Hitman discussion where people are stupidly arguing semantics and that having to connect and authenticate to a online server for a single player progression is not technically DRM

Okay.... that's a facepalm gif for me here.....

- Goes to a local forum Steam/PC thread and reads users complaining about how Bayonetta has too many clothes now and also how every major female character is getting uglier, including Lara Croft having "ugly sjw face" and that Aloy is going to be a overweight old woman by Horizon 3

And that's a faceplant on the desk one.

I see the internet is being very.... "internety" today. So I will just say that I really like this place :):)

Talking of Minecraft, I'm going through my monthly check for what shaders are about that take my fancy. I'll end up using TeaShaders like i usually do but i've just noticed i'm currently running VanillaReborn and have Potato Shaders in the queue. I tend to prefer the less feature packed shaders as there's fewer options to have to fiddle with and i prefer performance over pretty.

I might give-up two mods i use and update to 1.17 too, hmm, dunno though as when i did it last time i had the newgen terrain being sheer cliffs surrounding my existing explored map. Which i expected but meh, i kinda like my current world. Si suppose i could MCA my base and import it into a new 1.17 world... hmmm decisions decisions.

Oh... I'm also playing Sable (don't know if there are a lot of us).

I mean, I shouldn't. It's buggy and runs like sh*t over here. But they completely nailed the "relaxing exploration" part so I keep coming back.

Im mainly here and on some Discord servers, I have other social medias like Insta, TikTok, Twitter etc. but I really only use them to browse. Like, I have never posted anything on Insta or TikTok.

I like it here due to much less drama, Internet drama can take a toll on everyone, so I do my best to avoid it all. I have a thick skin and good mental health (from what I've been told), but I still feel avoiding drama is for the better.

Digoman You playing PC version of Sable? I've heard it's the least buggy of the versions at the moment and the devs have patches on the way for all systems.
I am and it sure needs a patch or two, my main problems are frame dips all the sudden and a few weird thing with collisions, there are visual glitches with shadows here and there but minor stuff and not that often. that's it.

An inadvertent result of this could be a fall in the price of graphic cards worldwide. Crypto miners were hoarding GPUs to accelerate the mining process, but this crackdown means that the massive mining operations in China will cease.
I hope this really happens because GPUs prices are insane even if you can afford them it has reached madness levels.

Good shit, I would actually both like to afford and buy a 4080 when it's out. This is the longest period that's been between my GPU upgrades (currently on a 1080).

Is there an easy way to find out which games on my wishlist have been bundled? So without having to check each game individually on gg.deals or ITAD/Augmented Steam.

Yes, I'm playing the PC/Steam version.

Performance is the biggest factor, specially if you are going for 60+ fps. but the style of animation they use actually helps to hide a lot of it.

Most of the bugs I encountered are only in the "annoying" category:
  • Music from inside the wreckages usually gets stuck even if you leave to the main menu. Requires game restart.
  • Stutters that can also affect audio.
  • As Mor mentioned, framedrops in certain areas. Can be severe for me.
  • Controls on the pause menu can stop working.
  • Lots and lots of visual/geometry bugs but that's normal given the scope and limited budget.
  • Some "jank" when climbing certain areas, but the game has a very liberal fast travel system to can get out anytime if you're stuck.

With all that being said, I'm still playing nonstop. It's an interesting world and the art style really works. The game is about exploring, and they nailed that part. It needs a lot more polish, but the core of what's here is already very nice.

It's hard to recommend it right now because everyone has a different level of sensitivity to stutters and performance problems, but if/when they patch it up, it's a no brainer if you want some relaxing and fun exploration.

I feel stuttering or the perception of stuttering is going to be an issue with Sable unless they changed things. Aren't they the dev who targeted 24fps animations which is why the game looks a bit odd for some elements on high frame rates? I know there was something said about it a while ago or was that a different game?

Is this time for real or is it like the other times that I keep hearing about it and nothing happens?
I feel like there's not going to be any actual change. How can China police this? Yeah sure maybe the huge crazy mining operations get shut down, but that's not going to move the needle. Those people will just move to other countries with cheap power and no laws. This feels like Chinese govt taking a stand, but not really able to enforce it. I hope to be wrong, but I'm skeptical this does anything for GPU prices or stock.

Oh it's Sable alright :p

Yeah, characters animations are not "smooth" even for 30fps, which is what I think the original demo was limited to.

But honestly it's a non-issue. I got used to it pretty quickly playing at 60 fps. I'm sure there is someone complaining about it somewhere, but if they fix the real stutters (there is a lot of them that you constantly see on frametime graphs) that's more than good enough.

I'll be very curious to see how quickly that easy anti cheat and battleeye stuff starts showing up in the actual games. I have no concept on how often anti cheats are updated normally, so will they just wait for the next regular update to also enable the linux support or what? :thinking-face:

Seriously. Against my better judgment, I started lurking ERA again recently. Mostly because I felt like I kept missing gaming news and it's just a convenient place to see it all aggregated. But I couldn't help myself and started reading threads and man, any thread that goes on long enough almost inevitably devolves into completely pointless, asinine arguments and I feel dumber for having read them. It's kind of amazing and it honestly makes me wonder if it was always this bad or if I'm just getting more antisocial with age lol.

I think it's mostly a byproduct of the current level of social media discourse. Many (most?) people would rather reply in a dismissive or sarcastic way to an opinion they don't agree with rather than put in the effort to make an argument. It is much easier to type "lmao" than to explain your position in a clear and eloquent manner.

Hmm, is the crt shader of the FF Pixel Collection good ? it looks shitty in video.

Why, yes, I’m slowly beginning to think about what I will play on the Deck.
