...and didn't look to see if Atom Heart is required...
For the last time citizen, it's Atom RPG.

THAT BEING SAID...

Ha, no but It is part of my own OCD breaking regime. I'm forcing myself to just get on with things rather than spend 6 months tracking down previous content that may not really be required...
You are my new hero !

Hmm, I'm still interested in Wrath of the Righteous. But then again, they will evidently make DLC. And as always, this won't be post game but require a new playthrough to enjoy...
Well, thanks for saving me 40 bucks, suckers :shrugblob:

Li Kao You're lucky. Tales of Arise has been made to attract new people to the franchise so you don't need to have played the previous games. phew. ( but it helps ) You'd never get around to it if you had to play all the "Tales of " games, lol. there's a million hours of gaming there! :D

As someone who has no experience in Tales, what’s special about the new one? It seems to be getting a lot of chatter 🤔

it’s anime, and as a reboot is a suitable entry point, so I’m already mildly intrigued

People are excited there's a new "Tales of" game. That's it, pretty much. I think a lot of it is that it is a good jump in point for new players so it's going to help people to get their friends involved in a series they love without their friends having to play two previous 80 hour games. lol.

Arise also looks pretty damned good and the VA seems great. I've seen a couple of the videos where the cast have been playing the game and they were fun.

Hey I'm not that far gone ! I can play a Tales out of order (provided it's not a direct sequel or prequel). What would really make me skip it is... well, money for one. And I never clicked with 3d Tales. I loved the first 2d one, Phantasia I think, then each time I tried a modern one the real time combats felt like a mess. Like it's far too easy so you up the difficulty but then comes a difficulty wall etc. And I always felt like my companions were doing too well by themselves, like I wasn't needed.
And I have my pride...
...
FFS !

PS. Ohhhhh, right. I'm very not anti-anime, you know me, but at the first sight of a teen magician with a giant magic pencil, I'm out. That's my line in the sand.

The previous Tales of games (Zestiria and Berseria) still had PS3 roots, Arise is the first fully PS4 gen Tales of game.

Pretty much what EdwardTivrusky and ezodagrom have said. It is the first current gen Tales game. The graphics look darn good, nice-looking characters and apparently good music. If you are looking for a standard JRPG with fun character interaction, a Tales game usually does not disappoint.

My sincere apologies to Meta ! When everybody freaked out because lash had been absent for 2-3 days I thought you were overreacting hard.
At a week of absence, I'm now shitting bricks.

Please be well @lashman :cat-heart-blob: :cat-heart-blob: :cat-heart-blob:

I'm also worried about him now, hopefully he is well.

WotR so far seems to be replayable, there are the Mythic Paths, different classes combinations to try, and also getting the ideal outcome from the quests once people make some comprehensive guides 👀

To those who speak German (but the machine translation seemed pretty good):
interview with someone from THQ Nordic as they turned 10:

he speaks about the demise of JoWood, how Lars Wingefors bought up the remnants of that publisher and founded Nordic out of the ashes, grew the business and where they are today. Also about how they diversify their portfolio, that they generally decide stuff for themselves, and that the other publishers within Embracer will exchange opportunities sometimes. He mentions the livestream thats planned in mid-September, says they will show 6 new games and he thinks people will like it.

No, I looked up nothing about them :blobnerd:.

I understand the decision for methodical game play (it's still in their games), but they still run terribly which made it hard for me to enjoy :surrenderblob:. Trying to turn around shouldn't feel like it takes 5 seconds (because of the 15FPS) :riggedblob2:

Welcome-to-Playstation-1995.gif :)

Thanks to you i've been watching DaveControl's "Let's Play! King's Field" playlists, don't know what he's using but it seems responsive enough for him... aside from the built-in gameplay delays of course.

He has several Let's Play of various King's Field games people may be interested in... and of course some Souls and Bloodborne too.

Partisans 1941 -74% - 7,92€ - Historical lowest price - Never bundled but could take part in tomorrow's Choice.

I never guess a Choice right but I will bet on this one for tomorrow.

The Outer Worlds Expansion Pass -72% - 7,01€ - This one is weird, maybe a price glitch, it has never been discounted past 50% off before.

Reason: Added The Outer Worlds Expansion Pass

I was playing them through RetroArch.
I plan to still try the PS2 King's Field, so hopefully that one runs better - even just not getting motion sick would be a plus :blobread:

Mankind Divided really left me wanting more.
I already knew the game had an abrupt ending but damn, it definitely could have gone on a few more hours without overstaying its welcome.
There were augments and gadgets I barely got a chance to try.
Also, such an awesome world and main character left with an unresolved story.
Fuck...

Lashman has been absent for a week? Hopefully he's just been very busy.

Credits taking 10 minutes to roll but games make you sit through them.

So is Steam just slower with updating amount of user reviews or are there more people per user review? I have no doubt that for example Pathfinder 2 has at least 100 owners on Steam, but only 2,2k user reviews. This is something I've observerved with a lot of games the past few months. I wonder if it is simply more people per review. Like, have more people in Asia, like in Korea joined Steam the past year? I see a steady growing number of Korean Twitch streamers having lots of live views and they use Steam.

Li Kao has gotten me thinking about Pathfinder and now I'm playing Kingmaker.

I'll finish up Yakuza 6 somewhere along the way (I'm close to the end I think based on the number of plot twists unfurling).

This might provide an explanation.

Finally, it’s worth talking about the early review/sales ratios, since we’ve been aware for some time that they take a while post-launch to ‘settle’. Players don’t review games straight away. This is why you see 1,300 reviews and 132,000 copies sold (100 to 1 sales/review ratio) as of Saturday, and over 2,200 reviews as of Monday, even though the game has probably ‘only’ sold another 25,000 to 50,000 copies.

So the game will settle towards its final, more stable reviews ratio, which I think it likely to be somewhere between 40 and 70. (More popular games are often on the higher end of the possible spectrum.) But this is a good reminder that when you look at earlier review to sales numbers for games - first 5 days or so - they may be skewed high.
It seems like the reviews-to-owners ratio skews high the first few days then settles down.

I have signed up to Microsoft Rewards two days ago, switched from Google to Bing, and installed their browser add-on.

I just take two minutes a day to do my daily searches and quizzes and go back to Firefox. I guess if anyone searches my Edge history, they'll wonder what "asqweriugf" is.

Also Microsoft Rewards is pretty cool. I've bought Snowrunner + the season pass on Xbox and the Forza Horizon 5 season pass with my rewards the past few months.

Seeing how much cookie clicker keeps raising (peaked at 60k today) I wonder how much dwarf fortress will do (assuming it ever releases).
DF will be high at the start due to people getting it to support the devs or because they've heard the stories and then it'll plummet as people hit the learning wall and drop off. Maybe if there's workshop access and people can download tutorials or levels or whatnot then it might stay high but i expect a steady but relatively low number of users with bumps every now and then as people "get it" and work out how to "play" it.

I'm sure the rise of games like Factorio, Satisfactory, Zachtronic and the various sim-type games will help it as there are more people who are aware of wht these games require and how to get the most out of them.

Got my fingers crossed though because i really want it to do well!

Year is 2021 and basic PC features are still used for marketing. I mean uncapped FPS, remappable keys, multi monitor support, wide screen support should be bare minimum for PC releases these days. Instead of those why we don't see new tech (outside ones provided by outside partners like DLSS, Super Resolution)? Remember new tech for Fog in Watch Dogs 2, for example? Or why don't we see more future proofing with extreme settings (better draw distance, LOD change, more foliage...).

Is there really nothing new to add to PC releases?
